《The Dark Star Emperors》Chapter 11: Making Dinner

The night was young. Hades was no where to be seen, however the girls felt it's presence. The marks resonated together. But as soon as they got home, Jack realized something.
"Oh, my God! What are we going to eat!?" she yelled.
"Calm down. I'm pretty sure there is food in that fridge Hades conjured," Yune said.
As soon as they opened the fridge, there was a random assortment of vegetables.
"This box is pretty cool in both ways," Mary said while shivering in front of the fridge.
"Well, I heard that this kind of food is healthy, but I have no idea how to cook," Jack said.
Yune sighed. "Fine. I think I can do it. It feels like something I can do."
Mary smiled and replied, "Perfect. We got ourselves a servant. Well, better hurry up."
"As long as you two are willing to help," Yune said with an annoyed tone. She didn't like getting compared to as a servant. And as she eyed Mary, Yune began to emanate an aura of terror aimed towards her. Enough so, that Mary got a chill up her spine.
And so they began to make their own food together.
Yune took out a couple of onions from the fridge and a stainless steel pot from inside a drawer. She put some cooking oil into the pot. She turned on the stove on a medium setting. Luckily, it wasn't electric, she thought.
Then, she looked around for a knife, but couldn't find any. Jack and Mary helped her, but to no avail.
Yune gave a sigh and said, "Hmm. I guess I'll have to improvise."
In a blink, a dark shroud covered Yune and her form as a Guardian of the Night revealed itself.
Mary and Jack went on alert.

"What are you doing, Yune? Do you feel the presence of a Night Demon?" Jack asked.
And without hesitation, Yune flipped her chain hook blade and started cutting the onions with it. She started to use her weapon for killing monsters as an ordinary kitchen knife.
"No. I just a need a knife," Yune said while cutting onions. The stench of it went up to Jack and Mary's eyes. They began to tear up and sniffle all while Yune was doing all the cutting. However, Yune didn't feel anything at all.
"You two stop crying and start handing me other vegetables," Yune ordered.
Mary and Jack started handing other vegetables.
"I need some of those radishes," Yune called.
"I need tomatoes."
"We're going to need some of those beans."
And with each ingredient, Jack and Mary would take them out quickly on the countertop.
Yune began to cut them and mix them together with a wooden spoon, but she soon began to slow down during the cutting process. It was difficult for her to use the hook blade as a knife. It was too large and inefficient. And she had to take care not to put in too much power, otherwise she might cut the entire table in half.
Mary noticed this and sighed. This was going to take too long at this rate, she thought.
And in a blink, shadows swarmed over her. She transformed into her form as a Night Guardian. She took some of the tomatoes, threw them in the air, and to the utter surprise of the other two, she was able to cut them into perfect slices with her claws.
Jack started clapping at the performance. It was very impressive.
Mary smiled and Yune said, "Good job. Now, you can cut the rest while I mix."

And Mary's smile faded. "Wait a second. That's more work!"
The vegetables were all cut into pieces and Yune began mixing them in a pot. She added some powders she found in the drawers. Seems like this whole kitchen is stocked, they all thought.
And during the time it was cooking, the fire underneath the stove went out. Yune looked in confusion. She started to mess around with it, but it just wouldn't turn on.
She scratched her head wondering what to do.
"Hah. I guess it's my turn, then," Jack said while a shadow came over her. She transformed into her large Night Guardian form. A flaming machete grew right out of her hand.
"Now, we can continue cookin-"
And the smoke alarm went off. WRING! WRING! WRING!
It kept going and going.
"What the hell is that noise!?" Mary screamed.
After minutes of not knowing how to turn off the smoke alarm, Jack just punched the alarm. It stopped. And fell on the ground in pieces.
Jack cleaned the pieces up and threw them into a trash bag. Meanwhile, Yune used Jack's flaming machete and put it underneath the pot.
Yune just watched over the food and stirred it occasionally. Jack was cleaning up the kitchen. And Mary found a television - or what she called a magic box - and started watching cartoons. And when Jack was done cleaning, she joined her and watched the funny cartoon. All of this while they were still in their Night Guardian form.
Yune looked over and thought to herself that they all look like demons, but also as a family. And she remembered how she used to take care of all the housework and cooking when she was still human.
There was the three of them. However, she still only could remember one. Eli. The blonde-haired girl with the katana. The one that killed her. But the other was still shrouded in her mind. It was starting to annoy her.
And when the food was ready, they all sat on the ground watching the TV. They transformed back into their normal forms and began to eat the stew that Yune made.
"Mmhm. This is pretty good," Jack said while chewing.
And Mary just ate it up.
Yune felt a nice feeling in her heart. She felt that this was the usual kind of day for her when she wasn't a Night Guardian. The three of them. Together.

THIS FICTION HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. I don't recommend reading this, since the chapters are a bit haphazard (containing new edits which don't really fit in with the latter half of the story).

In a kingdom putting together the pieces after a series of devastating magical wars, trouble is brewing. At least that's what the Seer's vague warning to Princess Lillya claims. That warning sends young Sorceress Rosaliy and enigmatic ruffian Drake from one end of the world to the other searching for answers (and lost magical children). The Destiny Detour is third in the Black Pearl Series, but the events of this story occur 10 years after the first two, and it focuses on different characters in the world. Life in the New World
On the Hiatus: I began writing this novel when I was, in all honesty, very bad at writing. I hope to revisit creative writing in the near future and I plan to, at some point in time, revisit this. I am flattered that many people have taken the time to read this story, but it is not what I intend to start with, as it will likely need a hard rewrite in order to correct many of the more glaring issues it has. Join our hero and follow his exciting adventure through a newly changed world! WARNING their will be violence, profanity,, and gore in this fiction. if any of these make you uncomfortable this is not a story for you turn around and walk away now!!!
