《Slime of Gluttony》-Chapter B.3- Walking Home

So, I'm out of the dungeon.

Yeah, I wasn't actually that far in at all. In fact, I barely went anywhere. I went back through where I came from, but took a right turn instead of a left. All I had to do is go straight from then on.

Although, even if it did take a while, I'd be fine! The monsters in this place are so weak that they can't even put a scratch on me!

'But... didn't that snake hurt you? I'm pretty sure the paralysis affected you quite a lot, too.'

Ugh, that was your fault. If not for you, I would have been fine.

'Well, you said that nothing could put a scratch on you, so you'd sorta expect...'

My skin isn't made out of iron, for Al Hara's sake! Context clues, pay attention to them.

'There wasn't-- Okay, question. Who's... um, Al Hara?'

You really are from a different world, huh? If you don't even know that. The Great god of Light, arbiter of order and all that. She's the main god people worship. Well, not me, though. I don't care about worshipping some god who's never done a thing for me! I'm better than that.

'Alrighty then... carry on with whatever you were doing, I guess.'

Great. Now that that's out of the way, let's move on. So, I got us out of the dungeon and stuff. It was easy and there wasn't any difficulty to anything. What came next was a bit more difficult. Outside of the dungeon is... well, a bit more difficult to deal with. Still, the monsters couldn't compare to me! So, I quickly got out of there too, and eventually reached a road. The dungeon and stuff is actually pretty far away from where I live, the Capital. Well, I don't have a house or anything, I just live in a certain inn. Well, not like that matters at the moment.

That road I mentioned, that's what I'm travelling on right now. Makes me wish I rented a horse or wyrm... Well, they probably wouldn't want to go near anywhere I was going anyway. I wouldn't do that to an animal! Or, well, I guess wyrm's are technically monsters, but that doesn't matter. As long as something doesn't try and kill me, I'm fine with them, monster or not.

'Another question, what's a wyrm?'

Geez, do you do anything else but ask questions? Fine, fine, I'll tell you since you're completely without any knowledge at the moment. They're a type of lesser dragon. With enough time and If they evolve enough, they'll become a dragon. Since they're pretty intelligent, they work pretty well with humans. Although, that usually depends on the species and stuff. A lot of Wyrms are native to Draila, actually. Part of the reason a couple species are popular as mounts. They're also pretty strong, so they can pull carriages and stuff with ease. You don't usually see it in small villages, but they can also help with agriculture.

'Huh... you know a lot about that stuff, don't you?'

Psh, I grew up in a village in an area that connected to the mountains of Forstin and a place called Quendest. I saw a whole bunch of Wyrms since they're more resistant to the cold.

'Oh? It looks like we have something in common... not the whole, seeing wyrms, thing. I lived in a place close to the mountains too, a bit more rural as well. I bet it's probably like night and day compared to what you're used to, though.'

Eh? So, you're saying we're similar? Ugh, save me from trying to 'befriend' me or whatever. I've seen that strategy a thousand time! I don't want to get to know you, got it?

'Considering we're probably going to be together for quite a while from now on, shouldn't we at least get used to each other? Just a bit?'

Damn, that's actually a pretty good point... Fine. We're not friends or anything, though, got it?

'It's a good start at least. Let's hope for a fruitful fri-- er, partnership?'

Yeah, sure, let's call it that! Let's keep it that way too.

...Alright. This is going to take a while. Walking I mean. I'm going way too slow this way. I think it's time to speed things up a bit!

'Uh... I don't think I like the sound of that.'

Hah. yeah. You won't.

'W-Whoa! Hey, slow down a bit!'

Thus began our journey back to the capital, me running as fast as I can. I'm a fast runner, and I've got great stamina. I'm sure we'll get there in no time! Well, there is a village in the way, but things should speed up from there.
