An Anomaly's Life Inside A Galge is Seriously too harsh for me!
---------------
Gray/Matsuri POV:
'Passive skills'
they are the Type of skills that are always instinctivually active anytime, anywhere, not needing to practice like magic and Skills to master
All the major characters have them since they were born and some even already mastered them
but with this...Im finally another step closer to competing with them!
[Otherworldly Warmonger]
-[Every second of a battle will give you experience and Dramatically Heightens one's battle Instincts and senses to a degree]
Additional Effects: 'Otherworldly' Perk
[Unlocked]
-[50% chance to Ignore Abnormal status effects]
[Semi-Locked:Reach Level 5 to Unlock]
-[Able to perceive things the naked eye can't see]
I didn't expect to get a passive skill this good really early, it even has 2 perks but right now, that wasn't grabbed my attention the most...
its that--
"'Otherworldly Warmonger' sounds really cool!"
Myself being such a degenerate, I couldn't help myself but to stand up staright and shout out loud while reading the otherworldly warmonger which made tofu visibly confused
"nubyu?"
Tofu tilts his head rather clueless but in a cutesy manner
Ah yeah I forgot that Im the only one that can see this game like system board
but anyways...
the perks are really helpful
for me, as someone who gets experience with great difficulty, Im happy with the additional perks
and the '[Able to perceive things the naked eye can't see]' Perk of the [Otherworldly Warmonger] is really interesting, No one in the game had a 2nd Perk on their Passive skill's
The perks are like buffs that are permanently given to you as you played the whole game
Even the Demon King, The Protagonist and 'the other 2' only had 1 perk while Everyone else only had an effect
but this 2nd Perk...I might already know what to do with it, hearing it makes me have an Idea on what it already is
to explain in a nutshell if the Player only has [Warmonger] as his passive skill, he would only get it's effect without the perks
but for mine, with the help of the word 'Otherworldly' it made me gain 2 additional perks on the 'Warmonger' passive skill
*Kcheeeek!*
moving on, as I sit down on the floor with tofu, while the horde of The Giant blue Crabs--
no, as the horde of the [Azure Sherkl]'s shriek and continually die in front of me and giving me exp due to walking over the Alkonost threads, I've noticed for a while that I can now see a nametag on top of their heads
"Ah, I knew it, the 'Able to perceive things the naked eye can't see' is lowkey the [Appraisal] skill!"
[Azure Sherkl]
-[3 Star Monster]
-Giant Sized Blue Crabs who Dwells from the Deep of aquatic caves and Caverns
-Specializes attacking with its Giant Pincers
-Drops can be used for Crafting [Weapons-Wardrobe-Accessory] type Equipments
it's really helpful because I've not completed reading through the Wiki of the monsters in the site
I just dedicated reading the wiki for the routes, future events and secret patterns which would help me progress the game faster
as I noticed that the Alkonost threads I planted as tripwires were now slowly disintegrating, I planted my left over ones and waited until the lucky star and Scroll of Ababil's effects expired
-----
[Drops]
-[Azure Sherkl Carapace 32x]
-[Gemstone 29x] (3 Star)
-[Treasure Key 3x] (Bronze tier)
after a couple of hours, as the Cave was now emptied of Azure Sherkl's due to their hordes falling to my obvious trap were now completely gone, monsters are monsters after all
Advertisement
they see a human, they chase the human, stupid right?
and all my traps and the scrolls that I used were now expired, luckily I have two more of the Ababil scrolls
wait I have no time to waste here...
I then ran straight with Tofu riding on my head to the end of this Floor zero
I may have gotten a passive skill but there is also another skill that I would need at floor 5
or maybe even another passive skill...
well, whatever I'll get, I'll be satisfied with the outcome
after all, I have the game's knowledge from my pastlife
"ah!"
there it is, the entrance to go up to another floor
It was another big ass blue colored torii gate
After running for so long, Finally!
I step toward the Gate and Enter it with my eyes closed and while hearing the words of the system telling me...
[Would you like to leave the Labrynth or Continue on to the next floor?]
"Continue on"
[Entering the Floor:1]
with just a blink of it all happening, Im now in the 1st floor of Labrynth Damoisele Del Lac
"Now this is a Labrynth"
The walls were made of white and blue colored bricks and had some pillars and designs that somehow looked greek based on my understanding of them
"well this wont take long anyway"
I pull out my left over scolls of Ababil and rip them both on top of each other
*rip*
[Activate]!
[Scroll of Ababil]
[Exp Boost: +50%]
[Duration: 07:59:59]
"now then..."
as I position myself in a warmup position with my arms overhead for stretching them
I reminisce the memories about the Labrynths that I had from my pastlife
The first floors were just like a tutorial period, it was built like a maze that should take hours long for the Players to find the Way to the 2nd floor
but due to me having the memories of my pastlife, I clearly remember the every position of the mazes inside the Labrynths
As I dashed on left, right, left, left, straight, right...
as I ran through the first floor, I didnt realize it but I just dashed through the Labrynth mazes that should take hours to complete within 10 minutes
Once again I enter the Blue Colored Arch/Torii gate
[Level Up!]
[Gray De Bernardino]
-Level 2 [1 Star]
[Would you like to leave the Labrynth or Continue on to the next floor?]
"Continue on"
[Entering the Floor:2]
now then, the second floor doesn't have much of a diference with the first one to be honest
but I know this time, that there are hidden traps that could inflict some minor wounds this time like pitfalls, nets, tripwires, darts
and also some that cause Abnormal status effects for a short time such as Poison, Paralysis, Sleep, Confusion, Frostbite, Burns and many more
But well, just like I said, I've memorized the sequence and rhythm of the traps when it comes to Labrynths so I finished the 2nd floor within 12 minutes this time
[Level Up!]
[Gray De Bernardino]
-Level 3 [1 Star]
[Would you like to leave the Labrynth or Continue on to the next floor?]
[Due to there being a record of clearing another floor, The Player can return to the floor that The Player have previously Conquered]
ah I forgot about this, setting, It's really helpful but when you leave the Labrynth, it all just resets back again so you lose the privilage, which makes you have the requirement to do everything again to proceed towards the other floors, if you leave the Labrynth that is.
but of course there is also 'that' Item which makes you proceed to a floor of your own choosing that you've previously conquered
"Continue on"
[Entering the Floor:3]
now being on the 3rd floor, this one's the same with the 2nd floor being filled with traps and is also a maze but the difference is that it now has 1 Star monsters that randomly pops up anywhere
but of course, it's such a hassle but I managed cleared it within 13 minutes without fighting any monsters this time
[Level Up!]
[Gray De Bernardino]
-Level 4[1 Star]
[Would you like to leave the Labrynth or Continue on to the next floor?]
[Due to there being a record of clearing another floor, The Player can return to the floor that The Player have previously Conquered]
"Continue on"
[Entering the Floor:4]
now this floor, the most annoying to the players when they first played the game
this floor contains all the contents from the earlier ones but now with more 1 star monsters occurences and some traps that makes you go back to the start of the 4th floor
As I was just breezing through the 4th floor again, I accidentally stepped into a trap which made me return to the start so this one I've managed to conquer for 15 minutes
[Would you like to leave the Labrynth or Continue on to the next floor?]
[Due to there being a record of clearing another floor, The Player can return to the floor that The Player have previously Conquered]
"Continue on"
[Entering the Floor:5]
with there being no level up notification this time just proves the fact that leveling up gets harder and harder
but now that I'm at the 5th floor, it was no Maze this time
It was just am empty Open wide space with a prismarine colored floor
[Player has Activated Special Event!]
[due to Player Clearing The Labrynth in no less than an Hour, Difficulty will be Raising Drastically!]
[Summoning Floor Boss]
[Boss:The 'Kraken' has Awoken]
now this, will be hella fun...
"Hello there, Squidward"
A sudden surge of large tidal Waves suddenly appeared in front of us...
As Tofu and I stood side by Side with Calm and Ready positions
the Kraken rose up from the wave's surface
It was as big as a 10 story building, with yellow eyes that were glowing like a lamp, 8 massive tentacles wriggling all around it, sharp teeth that somehow looked like little knives sticking on it's mouth
in front of it, I was just like a measly ant
But I didn't falter, I was just getting more Excited that I somehow knew myself that a smile was being crept up on my face
As I grab the Bakunawa that was straddled on my back, I spun it a few times for stylish flare and point it at the Kraken
In front of a large Entity, I made an undaunting pose
"try to test my [Otherworldly Warmonger]!"
this was my first boss fight, and it wasn't in the game but in a real life situation and it was also a solo raid not with a 'tandem'
in the game, tandem is the term for groups, party or teams
*Kraaaaaaaah*
The squidward Monster made an Unbearably noisy roar and started shooting at me with black ink that came from it's mouth
I used my Bakunawa's flat surface to deflect them but as he was slowly getting faster, the balls of ink gradually became a barrage
Unlike most tentacle aquatic creatures that fights on land and water, Squidward over here was in mid-air levitating while shooting bombs of black sludge at me
Unlike monsters, boss Creatures Strength and statistics will Automatically be Higher than the players luckily I'm alone for now but if I was with a newly made tandem
then the whole tandem's strength combined will not even be enough for this creature
but that is just only for the stats of your character of course
The Weapon rarities or Items with high qualities can help you easily defeat bosses
"Tofu!"
as I shout tofu's name He immediately jumped on the surface of my Bakunawa
And I, with all my strength pouring into this large War Fan I hold, I swung it upwards in which making tofu fly rapidly and made him kick the right eye of the Squidward monster
"Kcheeeeereeeek!"
as the Kraken threw bombs of black inky sludge everywhere, The Kraken seemed to be more Aggresive than it was before
as tofu was now losing altitude and slowly beginning to fall, I position myself to a place where I can easily catch him but the Black Sludge of the Kraken was just a slight faster than me but it still managed to hit him
No, it didnt hit tofu, rather it hit me
[Abnormal Status Effect:Poison has been inflicted upon Player]
[Player will receive damage per second]
come on...come on...!
[Poison Disintegrated]
"yes!"
So this is my Otherworldly Warmonger's 1st Perk
It only had a 50% chance but it was still higher than the norm
I put tofu on the Ground and charged it forward for an all out Frontal assault
how dare he try to hurt my cute little pet!
"Lets Goo!"
[Skill]!
[Skill]!
[Skill]!
[Activate]!
[Chuunibyou Eyes of the Rosa Color]!
[Activate]!
[Shunpo:Blinking Steps]!
[Activate]!
[Moon Eater]!
as it's tentacles start attack me one at a time I easily evade them and use them as stepping stones to try to reach the head of Squidward which miraculously worked
I then jumped at the last tentacle and covered my bakunawa with the little mana that I Have
which resulted to it having purple flames on the Bakunawa's edges
I then swung my Bakunawa Non-stop like there was no tomorrow at the Kraken even until it fell down on the floor, I kept swinging my heavy war fan on it
[5th Floor:Cleared]
as soon as the system board popped up in front of me, the Kraken Slowly turned into nothingness, only the left over Exp points that almost managed to put me to Level 5 and some items on the ground were all that was left
this floor, I managed to conquer within 10 minutes which is also Amazing for a first timer!
[Drops]
-[Kraken Tooth 1x]
-[Treasure Key 1x] (Bronze Tier)
-[Gemstone 10x] (3 Star)
as expected of a boss monster, the rewards are awesome!
but the real reward hasn't come yet...
as the Torii gate which wasn't there earlier were at a distance from me, Tofu and I walked towards it
[Level Up!]
[Due to Player Clearing a Special Event, Adding 30 Attribute Points]
[Gray De Bernardino]
-Level 5[1 Star]
[Status Board Unlocked]!
Atk:59
Hp:68
Def:33
Spd:65
Stamina:89
Magic:9
Attribute Points:45 (15+30)
[Passive Skill:Otherworldly Warmonger]
[Otherworldly Warmonger 2nd Perk:Unlocked]
['Able to perceive things the naked eye can't see' is Evolving to 'Appraisal']
[Appraisal]
-[makes the player see other's Equipment]
-[Locked]
now we're talking!
after checking my Status Board I decided to not add the free attribute points for the meantime and Check out the Gachapon Machine In front of me
The Treasure Key's that I got from drops earlier are actually the currency to do the Gacha rolls, With all the keys I have I can Get 4 rolls!
"Time to have fun~"
as I insert the bronze tier Key's one by one to the Keyhole
[1st Draw: Attribute Point +1]
[2nd Draw: Upgrade Stone 1x]
[3rd Draw: Attribute Point +2]
[4th Draw: +1 point on all Stats]
well, those draws were actually pretty good for a 1st timer!
but the skill I want can only be achieved on a 10x or more Draw I think...
well, atleast I managed to clear the first 5 floors within an Hour only
[Would you like to leave the Labrynth or Continue on to the next floor?]
"Leave"
As I entered the Torii Gate, just like a blink o it all happening, I've returned to the Academy's Lake where Senpai and I trained
hmmmm, my scroll of Ababil's effects still hasn't finished yet and it'll be a waste if I don't use it...
if so...
"Lets do It again!"
I entered the Labrynth and Grinded Again and Again that night until I woke up at my dorm and prepared to go to the Classes for the upcoming Class Tournament the next day

Paths of the Chosen (Rewritten, Revised, and Reinvigorated)
Daniel Stewart was chosen to alpha test a brand new Immersive VR game, "The Realms". What he doesn't know is that he has also been Chosen by one of the Powers of a far-off world, and is now a pawn in a game much bigger than any he thought he would ever participate in. Will he survive and thrive in this strange new world, or will he stumble and fall, shattered by the ambitions of another? Does he have what it takes to walk the Paths of the Chosen?---Inspired by the Chaos Seeds novels, TheDespaxas's The Gamer, and a wide variety of games and books, although the world, characters, and systems are my own. Expect high fantasy, magic, combat and intrigue, love and loss, grief and passion. This story is intended for adult audiences and contains explicit sexual content, profanity, and violence (including sexual violence, although not by the protagonist and not as a focus of the story). Chapters with such content will be clearly marked, and all explicit sexual content will be behind spoiler tags. I prefer my stories to have happy endings, and especially in these uncertain times, I feel that it is important to maintain hope. While this tale will reach some dark places, I promise to you that, when all is said and done, the villains will be justly punished and the heroes will prevail and prosper. Remember: it is darkest before dawn, but dawn always comes. Please note also that although this story does not have the [Harem] tag, it does have an extremely slow build into a polyamorous relationship. Additionally, starting with Champion (book two of the series), the [Multiple Lead Characters], [Female Lead], and [Non-Human Lead] tags would also apply to varying degrees. This is a complete, ground-up rewrite of the original Paths of the Chosen, following feedback from here and elsewhere. It is now written in the third-person limited omniscient perspective and in the past tense. In addition, while the major plot beats are unchanged, most of what comes between them has been reconsidered and rewritten, with pacing and characterization as a special focus.---Update schedule: 2 chapters per week (Monday and Thursday), not counting bonus chapters. Chapter length is roughly 2,500 words on average, +/- 1,000 words. Chapters with explicit content tend to be longer so that they are still worth reading for those who would prefer a fade to black. --- Cover art by Agri Karuniawan (@artofagri). Its conditioning and training take an unexpected twist as it develops abilities and skills different from the others of its kind. -------------------- Surrounded by manufactured warriors who are incredibly powerful from day one, our MC will find himself lacking in innate skills and knowledge. Some cooking and some daydreaming within. (I see you slice of life) --------- WIP art by Katie Z.
