《Godmaker's Gem》Volume2 Chapter 3. Goals

Deciding that I should be the one telling the recruits about the new training program, I followed her to the outside training grounds.
However, Before I did that, I went to one of the male bathrooms and dumped the skeleton in one of the corners. This thing was heavy and slowed me down. It was worthless carrying this hunk of junk anyway since I couldn't even use its function. The new one will be much more entertaining.
With my old body back we went outside.
The recruits were waiting for us, chatting and laughing with each other.
What is this, a school?
I clapped my hands to get there to get their attention.
"I am the Captain of this division. My name is Mr. Right. Today will be the first day of your training to become soldiers that will be the pride of this world. I will now tell you the exercises that you will need to complete perfectly at the end of the month."
While telling them the programs their faces became darker and darker till they seemed to be on the verge of tears.
"Sir, this is impossible!"
"Doing training without any magic? Is he nuts?"
These whiny kids.
"I don't care about your opinion. I am the captain of your shity band so you do as you are told. Now go to the field and run."
"Or what?"
Am i dreaming? That noble girl wasn't the only one with brain damage?
"Who said that? Step forward!"
From a group, a young man stepped forward.
thank god, I am sick of fighting women!
He had blond hair and a rough face, paired with a muscular physic.
" Name yourself."
"Geralt Maden,...' sir'."
"Geralt, insubordination will not be tolerated. You will follow orders or you can go. Your choice."
He looked around dramatically then he punched me in the guts.
"You should understand my superiority, you trash! No one commands the tiger!"
...Okay now I have enough!
I grabbed his neck with one of my hand while I pointed to his chest with the other
"Electric Magic: Bolt."
Bamm.
The small magic hit him right in the heart, stoping it straight.
"Ghahah!"
I let him crumble on the ground in agonizing pain, looking at his agonizing face for a second, before starting it with another projectile.
"This should serve as a lesson. Don't test my patience. Do you get it?"
He said nothing so I kicked him in the guts.
"I said do you get it?"
"Yes."
"Yes, Who?"
I kicked him harder.
"Ugh! Yes SIR!"
"Good boy! Now as punishment you and your tiger clan pride will do twice as much exercise. Do you have any complaints?"
He quickly shakes his head, his eyes filled with horror.
" Good! Then what are you waiting for? Start! You lot too! We don't have all day!"
The other clumsily saluted me then they ran away to do the prescribed exercises.
The noble kid quickly got on his feet and followed the others.
"Sir, that was-"
"II don't care. Now go, before I get angry at you too."
She saluted me then ran away.
"Sigh, as I guessed playing a god guy isn't for me."
Having nothing to do I started to wander around the main building, familiarising myself with its layout.
"It's finally peaceful."
It's been a while since I had the chance to relax. Having no one in your head frees up some space to think.
Thinking.

I should think about my future.
"What do I want to achieve exactly? I have a body now and I am not in danger. I could get stronger and leave this place, but I am in a great position right now and I also get paid. Maybe later when I get bored with all this. What I should do is train myself and make new techniques or even evolve. Right, this is a different world so there must be different types of weapons and spells, I should check a library if there is one here."
I continued wandering till I found what was I looking for.
It was a door with the sign over it.
"Library. Bingo."
The inside was quite spacious, with bookshelves everywhere that were packed full.
" Is anyone here?"
...Silence.
"...Then I'll serve myself."
I turned to the first bookshelf and took the first book from it.
" A history book about Dis? Why not I might learn something useful about this place."
I opened the book and runner through it.
The first part was about the creation of Dis.
Supposedly a god has rebelled against its own kind and was punished by exiled in a wasteland, cursed to be forever be trapped here and to keep him in despair, he would be burned by the sunlight.
In his loneliness, the god has reached out to the other words, requesting their aid. In exchange, he made all their wildest dreams come true.
More and more people joined his cause creating the first settlement of Dis.
In his benevolence, The fallen god tore pieces from his flesh transforming them into the first familiars, and gave them to its most trusted trainers, creating the Order of the Deers.
"Deers? Like my mask? "
After centuries of peace and prosperity, the god soon succumbed to his curse and to protect his people he twisted his body all around them, creating the protecting barrier that is now the world of Dis.
"So this is not the full world, just a protective barrier? It says that the world was a wasteland, I wonder if it's still the case."
I flipped through the book looking for more info about the god, only finding vague information.
He was supposedly the god of contracts, appeared before his people as a human in a black robe with a deer skull for a head.
With his powers of granting wishes and a power similar to mine that allowed him to shape the ground as he pleased, he built an entire civilization in only a week.
"It says that he had a scepter that was imbued with this power. Legend has it that the cane is at his throne room, hidden at the deepest parts of Dis...If I have the chance, I should look for that scepter, I should give me a nice power bust."
I continued reading.
After the god 'died', the people living there fell into great despair, violence, and murder was rampant and fall of the original inhabitants were killed.
Then they discovered the gates th-
BAM!
"Eh!?"
Not far away from me someone just fell, reversing some book on me.
"S-Sory! I wasn't looking where I was going!"
"Ugh-I am fine no need to apologize."
Ears. This boy has dog ears!
He was only around 8 years old, with brown eyes and brown hair, with two dog ears on top of his head.
It's the first time I meet a beastman up close. I wonder if those ears work properly or are they like vestigial limbs?

" Boy, aren't you too young to join the army?"
"Eh, I-I am only helping my Grandma out in the library so that she can rest!"
There are other persons in this building working with me, taking care of things like cleaning, cooking and the such. I have some authority over them but someone else is the one who gave them these jobs.
"Is that so? Then I have nothing to say. You can go."
The small boy nodded before running away, leaving the mess he made.
"...Well I came here to read so why not."
I took the books that he dropped from the floor and left the library.
-10 hours later.-
[Titles [BOOK MANIAC] and [PAGE SCANING] have fused into new skill: [Book Scanner.]
Hurray.
I read all the books that I had and now I felt super bored.
This world is literally a patchwork of other worlds. Each time a gate appeared, its inhabitants will colonize them and bring their resources and their citizens here, while a new biome was formed.
This is their only reason for being.
Their entire civilization is entirely built upon stealing from others. No wonder there are some spoiled eggs between the nobles.
At least I could found some mentions about different fighting styles and martial arts so I will definitely come back to the library.
"At least I have a goal now."
Each book that I opened spoke of the dead god, and his glory, which brought me two conclusions.
One, these people are deep-rooted fanatics or that god did exist.
If that god did die here that would mean he left behind a body or a core at least.
I couldn't even imagine what kind of power I would get if I possess it!
"I can't wait! I will train till nothing can stop me! Then I will find that core and take over this world!"
Being a god of my own world? It doesn't sounds too bad. I might even use it to get my revenge on those knights.
I went back to my office that was already rebuilt, looking exactly identical to the last one.
Damn these guys work fast.
I sat at my desk and looked at out of my window.
" A patchwork world that only waits for it to be conquered. I will gladly do the honors and take it."
*****
"Is it ready?"
"Yes my lord. She completely absorbed them."
"Good. Then start the experiment."
"As you wish, my lord."
*****
In the previous world:
Boom!
From the sky, above the capital of the Holy Empire, something fell at its capital's main square.
The civilians who were there panicked and ruined away if they didn't get killed by the shockwave that was generated by the thing.
All soldiers, guards, adventurers, and anyone who could use a weapon ran to the sight, ready to engage in a fight.
In the middle of the crash site was a knight in black armor, holding a sword dark as night. The weapon and the knight itself seemed to be wet with a dark substance that was constantly dripping from it in a big quantity.
"...Strong...Must become strong... Need to kill...To open...."
With on hand the knight swang his weapon to the left, making a storm of cutting wind, that not only cut the guards who were unfortunate enough to be standing there but the houses that was behind them.
" MUST KILL TO BE TOGETHER!"
"Charge! Stall it till the evacuation is finished!"
Those who didn't get frozen by the power that the dark knight just showed charged at him with a roar of war.
*****
-On a nearby rooftop.-
Several figures emerged from the shadows, each wearing different animal makes.
The one who had a deer skulél for a head that stepped to the edge of the roof looking at the carnage that was happening below.
"Go. Find yourself a suitable host."
"YES!"
The figures behind him turned into pure shadows and flew in the direction of the battlefield, leaving only the deer and someone else.
This person also had a deer skull for a head, but it was richly decorated with tattoos of flowers and had several rings on its antlers.
"You did well. I will remember it when we have a free space in our group."
"You honor me. Lady Bei."
The one standing on the rooftop kneeled down before becoming a shadow as well, disappearing from sight.
The newly arrived one looked at the scene that was founded before her.
The black night killed a dozen soldiers with his sword then punched the closest one to him in the head tearing it right of its body.
The goo that leaked from its body soon made a little pond around it, slowly sinking the dead bodies in it, taking them somewhere.
"...It's exciting to see a battle after so long stuck in the office. Don't you think so, mighty demon lord?"
Next to her, a new figure appeared.
It was a young man with blue hair and crimson eyes. his clothing was made from the finest quality, something even a king would feel jealous about.
" How long did you that I was wretch?"
"Oh, my! Such harsh words! But from the Sin of Envy, I'll take them as a compliment.~"
"Don't test my patience! Just because we worked together several times with your organization doesn't mean we are friends!"
The air around the young gman became cold, with a thin sheet of ice forming around him.
"Now, now! Let's not do that!~ We don't want all those people with weapons to ice little old us, do we?~"
The man looked down then the aura around him slowly disappeared.
"Why did you come here Bei? We had a deal. You will give us 1000 years in this world then you let us go to another one. Can I consider this as treason?"
"Goodness no! We don't want to mess whit you! It's only that the time is up. The 1000 years of waiting are over. We are taking this place!"
"Lier! We still have a decade at least."
"The contract that you guys signed says so."
"Contracts can be wrong!"
"Not those made by Him."
Chills run through the man's body as if he remembered something terrible.
"...Sooo, are you really trying to conquer this world by sending a homicidal knight in the middle of the most protected place on this earth?"
"Look closer."
As she said he focused more on the fight.
Around the knight, there was a 5-meter wild circle made from that black substance that it was secreting.
Then something happened.
One after the other, hands started to break the surface of the liquid.
The nads were followed by arms that were later followed by monsters made from that black substance that attacked and dragged their victims into the black substance.
"Are those... Molded Beasts?"
"Yep, We do not need prayers for us to cross to other worlds!"
"Well, that's... frightening. I envy your power."
"Hehehe, then you will envy what I am going to tell you in a second."
The sockets of the skull started to shine in green color.
"These guys are the past. We are currently making our own soldiers."
The man next to her looked shocked beyond words with some sweet running down on his cheek.
"Do you mean that-"
"Yes. We are done playing nice. The Swarm, Star Soldiers, The Angels. We will crush them all! As our creator wished!"
*****
"Put your back to it!"
"There are more coming out of the ground!"
"Don't let them reach the citizens!"
The soldiers and the adventurers tried to push back the horde of monsters that came out of the black pound, but that black knight kept on killing their troops, causing massive panic between the troops.
"...Kill ...Must kill..."
Boom!
"The star knights! We are saved!"
"Yes, we are saved!"
As things seemed hopeless, several arrows made from light fell onto the battlefield, killing some of the monsters there.
The monsters looked up to the flying knights and started to hiss at them.
The two front gazed at each other till someone from the monsters started to float in the air.
It was a woman wearing a black easter type kimono. her face was hidden by a mask made from a deer skull, but her black hair was flying in the air gracefully.
"My, My as master predicted you guys came quick!"
From the flying soldier, one of them came close to it.
It had less armor than others and was surrounded by a pink aura.
"Why did you attack the city? Your kind only acts in the shadows why did you change your pattern?"
"My, my you are cold! But I will tell you since master permitted it."
She clapped her hands and a flock of ravens cam out of the black goo under her.
"THIS IS A DECLARATION OF WAR! THE CENTURIES OF PREPARATION SARE OVER! ITS TIME FOR THE WAR THAT EVERYONE WAS WAITING FOR!"
The monsters under her roared at her while some grew wing-like structures on their backs allowing them to fly in the air next to her.
The knights just stared at her and the horde of nightmares behind her.
"Fine. War then."

How A Villain Builds A Kingdom
READ THE WARNING Amadeus Devereux was born into a rich and powerful household. But he did not pursue power like his brothers because of his love for art, flowers, and poetry. Until one day, a servant arrived in the garden to see Amadeus smiling as if he was looking at a flower. Only this time, Amadeus was looking at the mangled corpses of two gardeners. ————————— Set in a fantasy world where magic exists, follow Amadeus as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Will he be able to feel emotions as others do? This is a novel that I wrote because I got tired of all the tropes that had transmigration, regression, deus-ex machina, etc. where everything that makes the main character reach the top is left to luck. —————————

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
