I have been killing these suckers for a week now and this is the first time that managed to become stronger. This EXP and ES system is very slow, the voice should have told me that there was something like this.
I took down around 20 slimes and I managed to only get this much. I should find another pray.
I left the lake where I was killing this blue blob of slimes and went back to my hideout.
Well, I say hideout, but it only a hole that i made with my power.
It's been a week and I am still not used to this body.
The energy capacity of this body is just horrible. I can't use my ability as i wish, even making my hidey-hole take me more time than I thought.
Also, I discovered something very weird with my limbs. I can bend in any way i want. No joke, my joints can be dislocated in any way i want and they pope right back in their place, without any problem. This body is nuts.
I sat down on the bare ground my ax placed next to the wall not far away from me.
"AAAaaaaa tiered!"
Yep, I am able to talk. I learned how to make sounds a day after I got this body and on the gift day i could do though twisters as well. The strangest thing is that when i am talking my hidden mouth doesn't open. Is it some kind of bonus of this body?
I threw myself on the floor my ax laying next to me.
I killed 10 slimes today. I should go look for other prays. I might find something that might give me more strength. My priority right now is to find out how strong the orcs are and become strong enough to take care of them easily.
What I should do is shout the area around the village and kill the ones that go out alone. Hmmm, no that's not good, security will be reinforced if I do that. Then I should sneak in and kill them while they are sleeping? ...Nah, that's worse.
In the first scenario, my chances of escape are higher.
"Damn it, this is going to be hard to solve. In any case, I need to see what the village actually looks like before I could make any plans.
I got up from my hidey-hole and went in the direction the voice in my head told me to go.
In the distance, I soon could see the settlement or at least the wall that surrounded it.
It was a messy work of mismatching tree trunks tied together with vines. The branches that stayed on the trunks have been sharpened, making it difficult for monsters to climb it.
This place seems to be recent. They must have been moved here recently, which means that they are still unfamiliar with the terrain.
This might make them on edge. I need to be careful.
"Hey you, tall guy!"
I got found out!
I looked at the direction of the sound. It was a group of orcs coming in my direction. To my only eye, they looked perfectly identical with their pig head.
Wearing nothing only some animal skin covering their crotch area, they looked rather stupid with their huge bellies.
I thought they will be more intimidating, but they are not even armed!
"...Just looking around."
"Oui! What is that disgusting voice! This is our territory so leave now, before we flatten your ugly face!"
There are only 5 of them. I am at a disadvantage in numbers, but I have my ax with me and we are quite far away from the village. Can I take them on? Well, one way to find it out.
While the leader pig kept on talking I swang my ax vertically beheading him and the two behind him. Their heads fell on the ground before their friends could process what just happened.
Not giving them any chance to react I once again brandished my weapon cleaving one of the left into two.
Nice, now I will take the last one with me and... Damn it!
I accidentally killed the last one! He was missing his damn head!

Hmmm, they do give me more stuff than the slimes. This information might become very useful in the future.
Before I left I left something hit me.
It was a smell.
It was strange, it was the first thing that i ever smelt and i thought i couldn't smell anything due to the lack of my nose.
It was a sweet scent that was coming from... the corpses.
"...I will not eat those! I have fucking standards!"
I tried to resist but the scent became stronger. I approached the nearest, the one I cut into two, and took a bite from his flesh.
Its taste...nothing.
I could feel the texture of the meat inside of my mouth, yet there was no taste.
Thas a particular organ have this kind of smell?
Driven by curiosity I decided to take one of the most intact corpses with me to dissect it.
When I arrived I immediately got to work.
I ripped its chest open then i picked the organs one by one, till I found what was I looking for.
It was an organ similar to a small heart, located under the real one. To my surprise, inside this fleshy organ was a dark blue colored stone. Now separated from the body, the stone in my palm let out an incredibly delicious smell.
"...O-One can't hurt."
I threw the stone inside my mouth and started to munch it. With each bite, the stone let out an incredibly sweet taste, filling the inside of my mouth with goodness.
My God, this thing is so good! Who thought that eating could be so good!
Hoping to taste the sweetness again, I ripped out the organ and shaved it into my mouth.
It did have some sweet taste and with the added texture, it was more pleasant, but it was my opinion.

I grabbed my ax and went hunting for more prey.
*****
"Soul Burst!"
The dearwolf, that was in midair suddenly combusted into blue flames, not leaving even ashes.
[Monsters Slain]
[24 EXP received.]
"Haha, this place is so easy! With my new spirit, this place is a walk in a pie!"
A young man, with leather equipment, punched the air in his joy. Next to him, a small fireball was floating talking in a feminine voice.
"It's okay to be happy but you need to be on your guard, this is the Lowergrounds after all. "
"Don't worry Flara, these weak monsters are nothing for me!"
"Still you should- What was that!?"
From the distance, a metallic sound could be heard.
"...Probably just another hunter killing a monster. You are over exaggerating! Let's go!"
Thung!
This time the noise was louder and closer to them. After a moment of silence, the sound of something heavy being dragged could be heard, getting closer and closer to them.
Even the low-level fire spirit couldn't move, experiencing fear for the first time.
Soon the source of the sound appeared before them.
It was a jet black, tall creature dragging a huge ax behind him, that was covered with blood and dirt. its head had no eye or mouth just a green gem shining in the light made by the spirit.
W-What the hell is this thing?!
The mind of the spirit was racing, trying to understand what was happening.
Right now they are on the first floor of the Lowergrounds where weak monsters should live. Yet, something that was excluding this kind of pressure was approaching them, slowly, as if it was death personified.
The creature stopped not far away from them, saying nothing.
Then it raised its ax...
"Soul Bu-"
Unluckily for him, the monster was faster than him, his ax was already in his chest.
The weight of the weapon made him fell on his back, while blood was pouring out from his mouth and wound.
T-T-This-
While he was trying to understand what just happened the monster ended his suffering, by breaking his neck.
[Contractor has been killed]
[Comencing de-summon.]
No, not yet!
"Soul Combustion!"
The spell that the spirit just used was the higher version of the one the young man had. It allowed the user to set the target's soul to fire killing it instantly.
She felt the energy leaving her shrinking body, yet the monster didn't turn to ash, it just was looking at her as if she was an interesting insect.
Why is it not working?!
The monster raised its hand witch had 4 long fingers and grabbed the spirit.
To say the least, she was amazed ower words. Even though she was a living being, she was a fire spirit, made out of burning mana, with a body temperature that could burn someone.
Yet this thing casually grabbed her and looked at her with its gem in its head.
"Mana Syphon."
It could talk!
Followed by the words of the monster, a wave of fatigue washed over her.
She tried to fight it, yet she soon finds herself fallen asleep, newer to be woken up...
*****
Crunch!
Hmmm, so good! The human taste so good, while this ball of flams has some spicy flavor to it!

I really want to know what these titles do.
I ripped my ax from the corps of the human I killed and left it there, looking for more prey.
I have already leveled up twice and eaten dozens of cores, yet I didn't felt satisfied just yet. it became something like an addiction, making me want more.
I might have become an addict.
This worried me, i didn't want to think about what would happen if I accidentally run out of the stuff and have some dort of drawback effect.
Also what worried me was EXP. It seemed to me to rise levels I needed to kill more and more. I had no problem with that, but I noticed that some monster started to run away from me when I approached them.
"Should i go kill the orcs now? ...No I wish to go up to level 5 before i will even try to do that."
I grabbed the wolf corps that I just killed and went back to my home. I planned to use the wolf's bones and skin to make something like clothing for myself.
I had no problem being seen naked, it's just practice for the times when i will have a human appearance.
Yes, I will have a human appearance and I mot mean something like my current for. After I am done with this orc business I will evolve into something closer to humans then leave this place to find a human settlement where I can live peacefully.
I am tired of all the surprises that have been happening to me, some peace and quiet should do me some good.
On my way, unfortunately, I was meat with an annoyance.
From all sides, small beings surrounded me.
They were green and had pointy ears with beak-like noses. Like the orcs, they also wear pieces of skin as pants. Each one of them held in their hands some kind of bones as weapons.
They are smarter than those orcs at least.
"G-Give us the meat!"
"Yeah! Give it to us!"
So they are after the body of the wolf.
"I only eat its Mana Sac. If you want the rest you may have it."
"He, how can you eat that disgusting thing?! Whatever, take it out and step out from the meat!"
I did as they said, I slowly put the wolf corps on the floor, took out the sac, and stepped away.
The small green beings didn't move for a while but they soon jumped on the meet like starved hounds, devouring even the skin and bones.
How long did they been starving?
When they finally finished eating their small belies were al around as if they were pregnant, some even cried.
"So good! I haven't eaten anything since-since."
"Glad you liked it. Now if you excuse me. "
I eat the sac and went away.
While walking I noticed that these guys been following me from behind.
Well, it's not like I care. if they attack me I will deal with them accordingly.
I took down huge spiders, eat their mana sacs, and went away.
I noticed that the small creatures that were following me, started to eat the meat of the spiders.
Gross. But if that's their stick then I won't judge.
I continued killing more monsters till I finally reached LV:5 and 2. My states increased nicely and i even got a new skill called [Presence Concealment].
I had no idea where this skill came from, till now I charged head-on at the monsters.
Deciding that this was enough I went back to my home. In the meantime, the creatures continued to follow me, skiing and eating the corpses that i left behind. Some of them even made armors and weapons from them, which I found quite amazing.
Before I reached my hole, i turned in their direction. they got quite shocked by my sudden movement some even falling on their butts.
"Why do you guys following me? Can't you see that i am busy?
Their leader, the tallest one in the bunch, stepped forward. He had a wolf pelt like a cloak around him only showing his face.
"We follow the strong."
"...And?"
"We need food. You don't need it. We follow."
"So you just want to leach off me. Why should I accept it?"
"You don't. We follow where you go."
"I see."
With my increased force from level-ups, I threw my ax in his face, killing him instantly. ThenI jumped forward grabbing my weapons handle, killing every one of these suckers, leaving no survivors.
"Nothing personal."
Bringing these guys with me everywhere is a huge disadvantage and a burden that I don't need. Storming the orcs village may require some level of stealth and I didn't want to risk anything.
That and I had no envy to be followed by weaklings. They would have died anyway so at least I will make their death useful.

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
