Chapter 65. Hello

“Hello Lotus, what’re you doing inside that old man’s body? Go back to your mommy and keep your eyes closed. Okay?”

Flick Boss jumped up and flicked Samuel’s forehead sending the baby directly back to its body.

“Waaaaah” A baby’s cry could be heard from afar startling everyone around it.

“Ah shit, I made her cry.” Boss stated and disappeared from Angel’s side.

Bang! The door from Gran’s home slammed open and a boy with brown wig and sunglasses ran out.

“Awww, why is she crying come here, let me hold her…” Roselyn couldn’t deny Boss’ request and handed the baby over to him. “There there little girl, are you okay? It’s alright, you’re okay. That’s it… good girl…” Boss’ childish voice could be heard off in the distance holding the infant in his hand slowly calming it down.

Angel turned her attention to Samuel’s whose lifeless eyes was slowly returning back to normal. She couldn’t believe what she had just seen a short second ago. “S-Samuel, are you okay?”

“Agh, my head freaking hurts. What did Boss do to me? Why do I feel so tired all of a sudden?” Samuel held his head which was thumping loudly from within and asked.

“Y-you are right.” Angel stuttered.

“Right? Right about what?”

“Th-the baby.”

“What about the baby am I right about?”

“It-it took control of your body.” Angel was completely in shock at what she had just seen. A newborn baby managed to completely enter the body of Samuel as if it was nothing.

“What’re you talking about? Are you sure that it wasn’t something Boss was doing? Me having my body taken over by a baby, pfft.” Samuel regained control of his splitting headache and scoffed at Angel’s comment.

“Where’d he go?” Samuel asked and looked around within his domain. He eventually heard the sound of Boss off into the distance calming down the crying baby.

“What’s he doing over there? Wasn’t he just here?”

Sigh

Angel exhaled and try to calm herself. “He was… until the baby took over your body…”

Samuel looked at her in confusion. He was starting to believe what Angel was saying.

“So, he…flick” Angel flicked at Samuels forehead in the same spot Boss did it and continued “he flicked your forehead and sent the baby back to her body. Letting you regain yours.”

Samuel rubbed his forehead at where Angel flicked slowly coming to an understanding of what just happened. “H-how is that possible?”

Angel shook her head. “You were right, that baby should be the one everyone around us prophesized. How can it take over your body so easily like that…?”

The couple turned their attention to Boss and the now calm baby in his arms. The moment the baby calmed down enough Boss returned the baby to Roselyn and ran away back inside closing the door with a bang.

The baby in Roselyn’s arm turned its head towards the door where Boss had entered and then turned it back in the direction of where Angel and Samuel was. The couple was startled by the baby who seemed to be able to see them clearly all the way back here hidden in the shadows with its eyes closed.

“Sorry about that, I accidently made her cry.” Boss stated calmly standing beside the couple who had just seen him run back inside. They were startled again when Boss’ voice was beside them after looking at the baby.

“You told Samuel already? That’s good. Yep, it’s just a baby, an extremely strong one though.” Boss stated calmly. He continued “She’s just a little curious, that is all didn’t know who you two were and wanted to find out.” Boss answered.

Angel and Samuel felt as if all this was already just too much for them to handle. It’s only been less than four hours since they’ve hidden themselves beside a tree watching their son train with one of Gran’s kids and yet, now they’ve found a baby that Boss had to apologize for.

“You… What did you do…?” Angel asked.

“What, you’re blaming me?” Boss asked, trying to play innocent.

Sigh

“I mean, do you know something about that baby?” Angel changed her words and asked.

“Yep.” Boss answered.

“…What do you know…?” Angel asked.

“I know that… the baby is extremely strong.”

“…and?”

“And extremely hard for me to handle.”

“Why?”

“Because I gave her a teeny-weeny itsy-bitsy bit of my energy…”

“And…?”

“…and it mutated.”

Angel facepalmed at Boss’ concluding remarks. What on Tierra did this Alien do!?!

Sigh Angel sighed.

“B-but!” Boss quickly interrupted. “It’ll be fine, I can take care of it! No problem!”

His response caused both Angel and Samuel to facepalm. Samuel immediately regretted facepalming himself as it only just brought back the headache he had.

“How will you be able to take care of it? You’re going with my son and Shelly to Naturelle, how are you going to make sure the baby doesn’t cause problems?” Angel asked.

“Naturelle-ly, I’ll find a way.” Boss smiled at them and replied. He then continued “Why’re you two even here anyways? I thought you two wouldn’t want to leave Rouge because your King might assume something. Isn’t that why I’m with them and not you two?”

Angel and Samuel shared glances at each other and sighed. “Gran sent out letters about the annual Festival happening tonight. We thought as long as no one sees us it’ll be okay.” Samuel replied.

“Well, that didn’t happen you two were spotted already… by a baby.” Boss responded. He then continued “You know, you could’ve asked me for help in this situation, I could make you two completely invisible or even sent you real time visual about what’s happening with the kids.”

“Y-you can do that!?” Angel and Samuel were completely shocked. They’ve been too caught up about how things in this world was supposed to operate they still didn’t fully understand the capabilities of this little manchild before them.

“Yep”

“Okay, then do that! Make us invisible.” Samuel exclaimed in excitement.

“Nah.” Boss instantly rejected, he quickly continued “It’s not like you two even need it anyways, this power of yours should be enough. Anyways, don’tchu worry I got this.” Boss teleported away and the sound of the door to the back could be heard opening again as the manchild made his way over to the trainee with snacks in his arms.

Angel looked over to her husband and asked, “Why do I feel even more worried when he tells us to don’t be?”

Samuel scratched his head “I don’t know, I sure hope he doesn’t give us a heart attack…” He continued. “There’s two more guys who can give me a heart attack that should be here.”

“They’re here?” Angel asked.

“Well, it’s just a feeling I have.” Samuel honestly replied. He then turned his attention to Arthur and Shelly having lunch with everyone and then at Boss beside them. “I feel like we can be bystanders this time around.”

“Auntie Roselyn, can we get the name of the baby please?” Arthur eagerly asked the beautifully innocent looking woman with short orange hair and dark green eyes. His question caused all eyes to shuffle over to Roselyn.

Roselyn softly held the in her arm and smiled at Arthur. She wasn’t brought back home until late at night after the quick construction work was done on their home and went straight for bed with it. Everyone didn’t get to know the name of the newborn baby yet.

“It’s Block.” Gran answered for Roselyn causing her to softly chuckle. She quickly corrected “She’s not Block.”

“Her name is Lotus.”

“Hi Lotus!” Arthur immediately greeted the baby before him. He held out his finger and placed it in her palm softly shaking it. “I’m Arthur, I’m going to be your big brother.”

“Hey hey, I’m her real brother!” Boulder quickly ran over and placed his finger in Lotus’ other palm shaking it and greeting her. “Hi Lotus, I’m Boulder, your real brother, and you’re my younger sister, you’re the youngest one in the family so now it’s my duty to protect you.”

Lotus firmly grasped both fingers in her hand causing both boys hearts to completely melt. Roselyn smiled at the two boys who were playfully competing for Lotus’ attention. She then turned her attention to everyone else who was also eager to greet the newborn baby. “Don’t be shy now, come, come you all can say hi.”

Everyone took turns greeting the newborn girl and returned to where they sat besides Arthur and Boulder who squeezed between Roselyn and Gran to play with the Lotus. “Um, mom are babies supposed to not open their eyes?” Boulder asked Roselyn, he just now realized he never saw Lotus open her eyes.

Roselyn had a worried look on her face when Boulder asked her this question but simply replied “nothing is wrong. She’s just not ready to open her eyes yet.”

Roselyn didn’t know what else to say. The night after Orchid teleported back with her, she immediately brought Lotus into the room and wanted ask Dr. Galil about it. However, before she could ask him Boss appeared beside her and told her that Lotus won’t open her eyes and that Roselyn shouldn’t try to look at it either. After Boss said that he immediately disappeared.

Shortly after, Gran walked in and looked down at the baby on Roselyn’s bedside and sighed. Roselyn scooted over and let him lay beside her. He recounted what Boss had told him during the birth of the baby. She didn’t know anything about the situation or how deadly it was. She was extremely in shock when she heard the reason the house was destroyed was because lightning wanted to completely destroy her daughter out of existence.

However what Gran had said next nearly caused her to faint.

“When I was repairing our home with the help of everyone involved. Boss pulled me aside and told me that our daughter won’t ever open her eyes.” Gran said.

“Why? What’s wrong with her eyes?” Roselyn asked.

Gran sighed and shook his head. “The boy told me that anytime she opens her eyes lightning as powerful as the one that destroyed our home will land wherever she is. He told me for now, it is best to not even try to open her eyes. At least, not until she’s older…”

…

“Mom?” Boulder looked at Roselyn who was lost in thought.

“Yes?”

“Is Lotus just shy?”

“Yes? I uh mean, yes, your little sister is just extremely shy. So, don’t do anything okay? She’ll open them when she’s ready.” Roselyn collected herself and glanced at Boss who was slowly sipping on water.

Boulder completely understood and playfully placed his finger back into Lotus’ palm “It’s okay baby sister, take your time. Your big brother here will beat up anyone who judges you for being shy. I’m super strong you know. So, you can be shy for as long as you like, I’ll take care of you.”

Lotus’ palm firmly grasped Boulder’s finger as if she completely understood. Her head turned to Boss who was sitting further away and then at the people around him, seemingly as if trying to remember all of them.

Boss noticed the gaze underneath the cover of her eyes and smiled at Lotus and walked over doing exactly what Boulder and Artur had done placing his finger into her palm.

“Oh, look at you, already so curious. You’re just a baby, so do what babies do, just eat and poop and leave the worrying for us adults.” Boss wiggled his finger and patted her soft pink hair.

“Once you’re older, we can all go on a big adventure.” Boss released his finger and sat back down beside the trainees.

Boulder looked over at Boss and asked. “You’re not an adult, aren’t you just a kid?”

“I’m older than you.” Boss replied.

“I’m 12, how old are you?” Boulder responded.

“10.” Boss answered.

Boulder didn’t know what to say, he was expecting a number that was higher than his age, not lower. He wanted to say something but before he could Gran stood up. “Son, it seems like your teacher is here.”

“He is!?” Boulder asked causing Gran to nod his head. “Let me go get him! I’ll introduce you guys to him.” Boulder ran to the front gated entrance and opened it.

A man with bright red hair and a gentlemanly moustache stood outside.

“Teacher!” Boulder excitedly exclaimed at the man before him.

“Sorry, I was supposed to wait at the Inn until you come get me, but—”

“It’s okay! Come my dad said he’ll be happy to see you!”

“Well, alright then. I’ll follow you in.”
