《Offworld》Meeting Again 4

As the receptionist was apologizing to me the people around looked who was the person that caused her to be so respectful.
They saw a short haired tall man with a young face not older than 20 years old. He was wearing a simple attire and didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the crowd. He looked like he worked in a labor intensive job and not anything related to trading.
He didn't look that smart and had a plain face that you would forget really soon , but he had a poise to him that seemed like he towered the other people around him. Also behind him was a beastfolk that just stood there quietly.
" It's no problem I understand , just hurry up a little because I'm in a hurry."
" Yes ,certainly."
She then reached to grab something under the table.
I didn't understand what that was for , but I didn't ask.
"I just called for my superior so you can ask her anything."
I waited for about 3 minutes when a woman came slowly towards the receptionist. She talked to the receptionist in a hushed voice for a while seemingly trying to understand the situation and the faced me and smiling said.
" Hello esteemed costumer , I am Ms Elena one of the supervisors of this branch.
Firstly let me apologize for the wait and if you have any complaints please tell me."
I took a sideways glance at the receptionist and said.
"No no I am content. The receptionist was very professional and helpful."
"Is that so!
Then if you could follow me please,I will be taking you two gentlemen to the our VIP room."
Me and Munnji followed Ms Elena and after walking through a series of complicated corridors we finally arrived .

She opened the door and motioned with her hand for us to enter first.
The room was very spatious about 20 m² and decorated with various paintings, sculptures of different beings I hadn't seen before . The walls were painted white and decorated with silver and gold lines to the edge of them. In the room was a table seemingly carved from marble but the colour was a pale gold. Around it were two couches in opposite sides of the table that seemed to be made from the leather of some kind of beast.
We sat down to one of the couches while Ms Elena went to the side where there was an assortment of bottles in a small wooden table.
" Would you gentlemen like to drink anything?"
I not wanting to look ignorant in front of her I requested the only thing that she was sure to have and that was ,water.
" Yes, we would like a coup if water if possible."
" Certainly.
And would you like your water to be room temperature or cold?"
Me and Munnji looked at each other for a split second before I answered."
" Cold please."
She then took one of the crystal clear bottles from the table that seemed to contain a clear liquid ,I would presume water.
She then took two glasses in the side of the table and then filled them before giving them to us.
I took a mouthful of the water and to my surprise it was indeed cold.
I was surprised to find out that they had cold water because there didn't seem to be any ice in the glass or the bottle.
I drank the water in one gulp and she refilled my glass before excusing herself.
" I will inform Ms Faley for your arrival , so please make yourself comfortable."

*Clack*
The door closed behind her leaving the two of us alone in the room.
We looked around for a while looking at the decorations all over the room and we both came to a conclusion.
The decorations were all masterpieces even to our untrained eyes. It seemed the token that Faley gave us was more valuable than we had thought.
After taking in the surroundings I decided to send a soul message to Munnji.
We had created a soul link since the the beginning which had helped me greatly to communicate with Munnji and then slowly learn his language so I could comunicate to the other inhabitants of this world. My speaking skills were decent enough but my writing skills were very bad.
[ The place is very lavish, it seems that Faley has given us a lot of importance ,but I can't shake the feeling that he is trying to rope us into something .]
[ Are you sure? Maybe his intentions are not what you think. Maybe he was just trying to help us.]
[ Heh, maybe you are right , but we have to take everything into consideration.
Do you remember the law of the jungle?]
[ The survival of the fittest!]
[ Yes, you are correct.
And do you know the law of humans?]
[ ...no.]
[ You have to give something in order to get something .
The law of exhange.]

Dungeon Pearl
Zeke lived a normal life and died a normal death. Fortunately for him, this wasn't the end. Swallowed by a strange creature known as a dungeon pearl he quickly gained the godlike power of the core for himself! A very small, weak god. Unfortunately for him, it seems that he won't be left alone. An attempt at a more organic dungeon core novel. Riffs on a lot of litrpg stuff without actually being litrpg. Cover by Douglas Terabyte!

Alive?
In the ruins of a once glorious city, a mage awakens. As the sole survivor(?) of the cataclysm that destroyed his entire species, he’s forced to adapt. While learning the intricacies of his new body, he must first carve out a place for himself in a familiar yet foreign world before he can set out to reclaim his heritage. I cannot stress this enough: the character is not human, do not expect him to react like one. I know the hand on the cover only has five finger, but I doubt I am going to find a royalty free radiography with two perfectly functional thumbs placed in a sensible way anytime soon. The rewrite is finished. Beta readers are welcomed and I am still wondering whether I should put the sci-fi tag or not.

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.
