Bad feeling
While Aizen was inactive, a lot of things ended up happening, mainly involving the players ranked in the Top 10.
Twilight had a massive increase in Fame and Honor points, as they were the first official Guild in World 3. Despite earning fewer points than the Hunters Guild, they ended up overtaking the others ranked at an incredible speed. Players were shocked to see the leaderboard.

__
The players' level increased, and they had access to the important cities of their respective kingdoms. The difference was visible, they won a lot, especially the ranked players. The Twilight Guild was one of the pioneers and completed many important quests that granted a great abundance of Fame and Honor.
Big cities are where the most important people live. The number of people is also larger, so the missions are usually more generous. The rise of the Twilight Guild was enough to be noticed among the nobles of the Realm.
The other ranked Guilds also had a big points boost, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Twilight Guild or Sekhet, who was an excellent player. Sekhet also ended up catching the attention of many nobles.
The Hunters dropped down the leaderboard, which was to be expected. Despite becoming quite famous, the guild was still weak when compared to the big guilds. Pegasus was close to overtaking them.

Players were also surprised to see one more small guild enter the leaderboard; the Sabertooth Guild. SaberTooth is a small, newly established guild with a strong player base. Also, the SaberTooth leader is said to be someone dangerous. Faded Vitality also surprised, managing to get very close to SaberTooth.
With the growth of players, problems also appeared. The NPCs also discovered that there was something odd about the players, more specifically the fact that they were "immortal". The NPCs already had some conflicts with the players. However, this time the situation was more serious.
-
A man was sitting on his throne, with a grave expression. The crown on his head made it easy to identify his position. Beside the man, a knight in white armor watched the situation.
"Are you saying that there are immortal humans in our country?" the man asked.
"Yes… we've received communications from some guilds about this, but we thought it was some kind of joke. However, these communications are getting more and more frequent, we can't ignore it." The subordinate who was kneeling replied.
"...investigate this...immediately!" The man ordered, in a serene voice. The subordinate saluted before leaving the room.
…
"King…" The white knight called out to the King.
*Sigh!*
The King knew that this situation could get out of hand, especially when the nobility was involved. Even with a lot of money and power, all this is a passing thing. In the end, they would die. The fear of death is something most people have.
Many nobles try to find artifacts that could increase their lifespan, but this was not a common thing to find. Cultivation was one of the possible solutions, as Cultivators have a very high life expectancy, in many cases surpassing Elves. However, cultivation was not simple, it required an adequate body and talent.

This concept also applies to mages. Great mages also have high lifespans, due to the changes mana made to their bodies, but being a great mage wasn't easy either.
"Get ready…we could go through a new war."
-
Elizabeth looked out at the beautiful landscape, her expression thoughtful. She had a bad feeling.
'What is it?!' She felt that something very bad was approaching, but she didn't know what it was. That bitterness left her helpless.
She didn't want to bother Aizen about it because he was busy at the moment.
"It could be in my head."

A King's grief, fueled by the loss of his Queen and their stillborn son, has created a shift in the natural balance of the world. Driven to madness by the whispers of a malevolent entity, the King unleashes a plague across his Kingdom, which seeks to spread across the neighbouring lands until all nation's citizens are consumed by darkness. The plague awakens a deep hunger in those tainted to consume the blood of those who remain uninfected. From the ashes of the old world, a new world order has arisen to unify the fallen kingdoms under the banner of one ruler, the Queen of the Night. Centuries later, the story follows the tale of Sol, orphan son of the last hero of the human resistance. A twist of fate unites him with a few unlikely vampire slayers. The group unintentionally throw the Queen's plans into disarray on the night of her envoy's arrival. Now they must band together, utilising their wits and resources to undermine the entire operation simply to survive. Proud to be the first story edited by the rep king of RR himself, msng! Drauku has also teamed up to make the ultimate editing duo!
8 63A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.
8 148Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]
