《The Putrid Assassin (Complete)》Chapter #21

I ran as fast as I could towards the temple. When I heard a loud crack behind me. Lexi soared through the air past me. When she came close to the ground she stomped with one foot and went soaring again. How was this even supposed to be a race, I thought to myself.
We soon arrived at the temple steps, it was arranged like a crescent moon with steps leading skyward in all directions. There was a giant hole near the middle of the skyward steps and I knew that was where we would enter.
"Wanna race to the top?" Lexie asked mockingly
"I wouldn't want to leave you behind noona" I spoke just to make conversation
"Just stay behind me and you will be fine." She said as we started to climb up the stairs.
There isn't any other place in the world I'd rather be I thought to myself.
We continued up the steps until we were standing at the top peering down into the house-sized hole.
"I think noona should also go first down there," I said
"There are no stairs down and we don't have a rope so how are we gonna get down?" Lexie asked
"I'll go back down and get some vines and we can make a rope and lower ourselves down," I said
"Wait before you go down to get vines do you have the torches?" She asked
"Ya I do" I replied
As I started to take my first step down the stairs of the temple. Lexie grabbed me and picked me up like a child.
"What are you doing noona?" I asked
" Helping you get your revenge quicker" she responded
Oh shit, I thought to myself. With a little jump, she hopped into the hole in the temple. We seemed tho fall through the dark abyss forever.

When we hit the ground it cracked and fractured underneath noona feet. I took the moment when she was distracted too nuzzle my face into her chest.
"What do you think you doing?" she asked
"Shielding myself from the rock fragments of course," I responded
She dropped me and I slammed into the ground. I couldn't see her face because it was pitch black, but I could imagine that beautiful face contorted into contempt.
"This weasly side of you is something I really can't approve of," she said with a small nose snort
I stood up and brushed myself off. "Honestly noona I was just trying to protect myself."
"I'll let you off this one time seeing as how I didn't tell you we were going to jump down"
"Cool," I said as I reached into my backpack pulled out a torch and lit it up.
Wasn't she the one that just wanted me to ravage her body. Now its suddenly not okay to put my face on her chest. I guess all women become crazier as they get older I thought to myself.
"That torch is something I bought especially for a place like this. Try inserting some of your quix force into it" Lexi said
I did as she said I could feel some of my energy leave my body. But in exchange, the entire cavern lit up as the torch became a bonfire that hovered above our heads.
"What an amazing place, it looks like we're gonna find all the ingredients we need and a lot more." She said
"What an amazing place It looks like the ruins of an ancient civilization. Is it just me or does this look like an ancient gladiator arena?" I said
"Yes, that's what it seems to be. And that's why all the ingredients we need will be here. Plants of the tier we are looking for there only use is destruction and violence. So it makes sense that they grow here feeding off the blood energy off all the previous gladiators that died here."

"Good good my goal doesn't seem so far out of reach anymore." My voice sounded rather mad to be ringing out in the empty arena but I didn't care
I walked around picking everything that was green because I couldn't really remember what the poison vine looked like. But I knew that all of these herbs were worth a fortune. And I was not dumb enough to pass upon such an opportunity.
"I see the poison vine. But before we leave and you go to attack the nobles. I think you need some personal training with me." Lexie said
