《The Putrid Assassin (Complete)》Chapter #8

The sword sailed through the air like an arrow
As soon as the sword came into contact with mystery noonas robes a green light covered her entire body and the sword bounced off.
Do you really wanna see me that bad cheeky brat? she said
Noona just seems like such a wonderful older lady I said with a smile that wasn't really a smile
Hmmph" came from her as she walked off to her side of the cemetery
I walked to my side to guard my side of the cemetery.
At about midnight the rich smell of iron entered my nostrils
That smell was one I recognized, the smell of blood! With a quick gaze into the forest, a pair of huge red eyes was staring back at me
If it was going to come any closer I planned to immediately launch my flare and run over to noona for help.
The eyes retreated into the forest after about ten seconds what a lucky night I thought to myself.
There were undoubtedly a few experts buried in this graveyard and the decay of there bodys released a huge amount of quix that attracted monsters to come and try and devour them. This would allow them to boost there cultivation significantly.
The rest of the night passed uneventfully. I went to go see if I could catch noona and walk back to town with her.
When I arrived she seemed to have sensed the lingering fear in my face
Are you okay brat? If you run into any too high ranking monsters make sure to call me over.
None is stronger than me! I bosted jokingly
For a moment I thought I could almost see the concern on those plump lips of hers.
Looking to take advantage of her concern I asked playfully
Will noona allow me to walk her home?
Instantly the case of ice reformed on the lower half of her face
Knowing I wasn't going to get anywhere I laughed
I'm just joking noona see you next week.
Bye, brat..
I went home to sleep after all tomorrow was the weekend.
The next morning when I woke up I decided to go shopping for a skill after all if that beast in the forest had come for me there would be no way for me to outrun it.
The market was crowded and full of people after it was the pheasants day off

I eventually purchased a scroll of speed that boosted overall speed by sixty percent for 10 seconds and a few runes of haste in case I really needed to run.
I went back to my inn dreaming of the day everyone would get crushed under my feet.
The next day I decided to go and ask the man who had hired me. I wanted to ask the daytime grave keeper why the noona I worked with always wore a robe to conceal her figure. Though in all honesty it still failed to hide the major curves of her body.
His office was outside the graveyard. He mostly managed adventureR burials and such during the day. Overseeing the graveyard was kept orderly and safe during the day.
I walked into his office and he didn't seem to be surprised that I had come.
Come for your pay guardsman?
I came for that to sir but mostly I have come to inquire about the robed lady that I work with.
To tell you the truth she was recommended to me by some bigshot with only these words.
"With her in your graveyard, it will be safe for eternity but I warn you never look under her robe under any circumstances."
I picked up my coins from his table and with a tip of my hat " I shall heed your advice to the word"
Good sonny your are too young to have experienced the horrors and monsters of this world" he said
As I returned to my inn I thought to myself. The horrors of this world I have tasted, and women I fear not especially one with a figure such as hers haha.
The next day I showed up to work a little early so I would have more time to talk to nooona.
I saw her walking along the path to the graveyard it was nearly impossible to feel any emotion from her.
I waved and opened my mouth to talk to her but she just walked directly past me.
Well, the path of the quix was never comprehended in a day I thought to myself as I went to take up my post. The night had a cold breeze and left me feeling melancholy.
After around 50 yards I saw some dark figures emerging from the forest and walking to the graveyard.

I lay down silently until they came into the torchlight and realized that they were goblins.
Unafraid I stood up and started yelling to scare them away. "Begone you filthy monsters!"
One quickly made a gurgling noise and retreated whereas the other drew his dagger and charged.
"Arghahah" Cam from his mouth as the cold glint of steel flashed in his hand and pierced toward my neck.
With a quick slash of my sword upward the dagger was paried.
For a second I could see his expression change into a cruel smile.
He raised his scrawny arm and in the darkness, there was a mini dart gun.
He fired the dart it flew through the air and pierced my arm.
Shit, I couldn't see in the dark and missed his other arm.
My sword arm instantly went numb. With a sound that sounded like a snort of glee he thrust his dagger at my heart.
I dropped the sword and caught it in my other hand and swiped for him.
Luckily the reach on my sword was farther and my blade cut of his dagger arm.
With his other arm, a frantic grab was made for my neck.
Shit, my sword couldn't swing fast enough to make it in time. Without a second of hesitation, I activated my acceleration skill and swung for his arm.
Cleek the arm got cut off.
No, rather it had been a sacrifice as the goblin arm flew off to the side his fangs extended and reached for my neck.
Luckily I wasn't out of trump cards yet and crushed all my speed scrolls at once.
Time seemed to slow down as I seemed to have walked out of the way.
After that bout was over the fight was done the goblin had bled out. I sat on the ground for a while trying to regain my breath.
Eventually, I stood up and walked over to the corpse looting it I found the following items.
A blue pendant, a rusty dagger, a broken dart gun, and a few copper coins.
I went back to my post and the rest of the night went back uneventfully.
When I finally went back through the gate noona was waiting there. She seemed to have noticed that my arm wasn't hanging right.
"Are you okay? she asked
"Nothing a strong soul such as I cant handle." Not wanting to tell her that I had almost died.
She smirked and said "If your right arm can handle it I give you permission to unhood me"
I would never do something noona wouldn't want me to do." I said Cursing her inwardly
If you aren't strong enough you can always call me. Here this potion should restore your arm to its original function." She said while handing me a yellow potion.
I fished in my bag and brought out the pendant i had gotten.
The monster I defeated dropped this pendant and I thought it would go well with noonas dark robe."
Seemingly taken back she reached out her hand and took it. she became quiet after that and wished me the best of luck.
I staggered back to the inn and on the way back chugged the potion and it gave me a warm feeling as it circled around my body and the numbness was cleansed. What a hard day I thought to myself as I walked back.
I slept the entire following day tired from the fight and when I woke up the feeling in my body was just a little bit stronger or maybe it was just my imagination?
When I arrived at the graveyard the mysterious girl was still there.
Slowly glancing at her white beautifully curved kneck that seemed to be made out of jade I failed to see the necklace I had given her.
She seemed to want to talk to me, but seeing how she wasn't wearing my gift I wasn't really in the mood.
I'm surprised you didn't quit brat after yesterday.
How could I quit and leave such important women in my life to defend this miserable place alone. "I said
Taken back by my words she said "A boyish brat like yourself shouldn't spout such nonsense"
I will stay here until I am strong enough then go out and avenge all those that have wronged me then come back for you.
Seemingly amazed by my stupidity the ice queen burst out in laughter.
