《The Putrid Assassin (Complete)》Chapter #7

I stood on the roof archway above the man as he slowly walked into the alley. When he was directly above me and dropped.

Normally I would be scared dropping from such height but with my new found confidence as a cultivator and a body to cushion my fall.

When a man finds himself in possession of power confidence is bound to surge. The moment the poor thief's shoulders came into contact with my legs he crumpled like a rice cake in an orphan's mouth.

He seemed to be unable to move his body after being crushed, so I stood up and grabbed his coin course.

"Fuck, ill kill you piece of shit" and many other numerable curses came out of his mouth.

I considered the irony and played along.

"Hahah evil doers beware the captain of justice is here to save the day."

He seemed to be stupified for a second and then asked " What would a hero of justice need with my coin purse?"

"I shall rightfully return it to its owner of course!" I said

"No matter who you are or how strong you are I will hire people to kill you" He threatened

"Kill a hero of justice such as myself impossible"

Not without money to hire anyone and I just took all of yours so what do I have to fear. I thought to myself.

I left him there cursing his luck in that trashy back alley, he would survive probably.

I located a moderately nice hotel and walked in there was an older man at the counter.

"How much for a single night" I asked

"Fifty coppers for a normal room my esteemed guest" He probably didn't believe an eight-year-old had the money.

Because when I reached into my pocket and pulled out 50 coppers his eyes got really big.

I proceeded to my inn room never before had I been in a luxurious room such as this.

Being a hero of justice really has its benefits I silently thought to myself.

The next day I rested till noon then thinking that I would need a weapon and strength to defend the graveyard I went about cultivating,

Inside me soul counciness the few glass pieces I had put together entered my hands. I slowly took the time to observe my soul realm.

Did the pieces of glass that I labored over for many hours to bring closer to me suddenly get a little closer?

If they did this would be a joyous event it meant my struggles in the future for getting my first soul plate would be considerably lessened.

And then there was the matter of the glass being colorized. Was the glass just random colors or did it form a picture like a soul plate in the scary noona at the mercenary guild?

I guess as long as I continued cultivating all of my questions would be answered.

The next four hours were spent deep in cultivation assembling the glass pieces.

When the trance that I had been immersed in had finally been broken. I looked down at my hands and the glass pieces had grown to be palm size and depicted on it was the mangled corpse of a soldier with a spear drilled through him.

An ominous sign I thought to myself then the scary noona entered my thoughts and how she didn't seem happy to have a picture on her soul plate.

Oh well, it was almost time for my guard duty and I didn't have a weapon so off to the market I went.

I needed a good weapon but didn't know who were the swindlers and who were the good craftsman.

So I went to ask someone who spends every day of there life here. A begar obviously knows who the good craftsman are and who the swindlers are.

While throwing ten coppers into his bowl I asked in a sincere voice.

"Dearly respected elder could you point me to where the best craftsman for a soldier such as I is?"

"Head down the street for two alleys then there will be stairs leading down on your left and go down there."

"Thank you may the god of luck smile on you"

With that, I departed and made my way into the weapon shop. To be more accurate as soon as I entered it wasn't a weapon shop but a house of weapons and armor.

I searched around and couldn't find a price tag on anything. But I roughly could gauge the value of the items.

There was an armor made out of bug carcasses that had heavy armor in the vital areas but was light overall to not restrict movement.

Now for the most important part, the weapon. I would have preferred a spear and a large shield so I could preserve my life while killing my foes from a distance.

But in the end, I settled on a sturdy black sword with a wood hilt carved into an angel.

At the very back of the warehouse sat an old man with glasses that looked like he was permanently hunched over.

"Excuse me, good sir, where does one pay for the wares required here"

"Why pay there is no one at the door?" He responded quickly as if he had said these words thousands of times.

He probably had said these words thousands of times and there was no way this shop was that simple or it would have been pillaged by now.

"I am an honorable man that wishes only for the pursuit of justice and fairness, of course, I must pay for these excellent items."

"Haha at least this youngster has not turned out like the beggars on the street that will not think before robbing a man of all of his coin."

"Never would I do something so lowly" I pulled out my purse and placed it on the table

"Will this be enough esteemed elder?" I said

"Not quite enough but you fail to realize the swords attribute so I guess this much can be considered passable," He said while grabbing the bag of coins

"I thank the old one for his generosity next time I will come with twice the coins." I said knowing I would be back later for some of the better gear." I said

"All this old one needs is the knowledge that my gear shall be protecting life, money is of no need"

"I thank you for the kind words," I said as I left the shop and proceeded to the graveyard.

Waiting for me at the gates to the graveyard was the black robbed woman. Even though she wore robes it could not hide her wonderful figure.

I greeted her " Hello noona I am prepared to work with you"

She frowned as if these words to her disliking and said "Just stay on your side for the rest of the night"

Longing to see her face I said

"How can I trust one who hides her face to guard my back. You need to at least trust me with what you look like. I might attack you on accident"

She seemed to find the notion funny and said "If you can leave a scratch on my body I will reveal my face:"

Without a second of hesitation. I threw my sword at her.
