《Sun Collector》Chapter #40 Normal Rings

I got home and decided to study and then go to bed. I had been studying up on the forest as much as possible. Eventually I climbed into bed and fell asleep.
As soon as I got up I got my food early and decided to watch grand elder and his apprentice try out her new ring. My food was a hundred year old heartbeast that was a bird. It was good, no special effects though.
The scenery enveloped me as I saw the world through grand elders eyes again. It would seem they were running through the forest. They suddenly stopped and hid. Soon a hundred year heartbeast walked down the path next to them. It had a scaled back and walked on all fours with a club tail.
When it passed they got up and continued until they reached a meadow. It had many 10 year heartbeasts feasting on the berries in the meadow. The meadow was long and continued far up the hill. Grand elder told rose his apprentice to loot the bottom of the meadow and he would go further up.
I watched with awe as rose made a shadow clone that crept out and began looting the very bottom of the meadow. There was plenty of berries apparently rose had been gifted with a spatial item as well because she was able to hold far more berries then she should.
My vision changed as grand elder hid in the trees and followed the meadow up the hill. When he got halfway up he saw a fruit tree. After checking his surroundings he sprinted out and started pulling star shaped fruit down from the tree. There was so much fruit his spacial bag got completely full.
He sprinted back to cover and as soon as he got there a hundred year old heartbeast lannded in that tree. Quickly he made his way down the hlll back to where rose had filled up her sack. She had used the clone to sneak around the 10 year old heartbeasts. They weren't afraid of 10 year old heartbeasts as grand elder could kill one if he tried. I watched them make there way back. The cafeteria was going to have starfriut on the menu I suppose.

Grand elder had become that much better at looting and with more food coming in the next generation could grow that much faster in strength.
I went to the cafeteria to get my food for the day. It was a hundred year fish heartbeast again.
I now had 150 mana I decided to go craft a normal ring for partying tonight. I went to the crafting house and then went downstairs. I picked out a 10 year birds feather. I put it into the chest and imagined reflections. When i got it out of the chest it was a simple ring with no color and a black drawing of a bird's feather.
Now to wait for tonight I thought to myself. I decided to show the shop clerk it.
Feather flurry~Reflections shine brighter
The shop clerk made a funny face and said "What is this good for" Without breaking a sweat I said "Partying"
Tonight the bar awaits me. With this ring, I'm sure I could have fun.
The clerk looked at me and said "You're not making the choice to strengthen the outpost in the best possible way."
I knew that, the choices I had made were to get the maximum possible benefit for the people I believed in as a team.
The clerk didn't say anything after that so without another thought I went home to prepare for tonight.
I took a nap in the sun. I woke up ready to go to the bar.
Just as the sun was setting I walked through the outpost and arrived at the bar. As soon as I walked in I felt warmth hitting my face. There was a fireplace and a bard sitting next to it. There were warriors everywhere I could find a single craftsman. I went over to the bar where a beautiful woman was standing. Skinny and tall with blue eyes and blond hair. She asked me if I needed a drink.

I said, "I have no coin but I have an ability ring I will trade you for drinks all night long."
Her eyes sparkled "Let me see it" she asked me.
I held it up for her she took it and equipped it. I could see her jewelry turn into a cascade of shimmering light.
"Yes I'll do more than that for you tonight if this is mine." She said
"My name is Lauren" Come to me anytime you need a refill.
"Okay," I said
With that I turned around back to the bar mug in hand and looked around.
Before I knew it someone was grabbing my hand. Lauren pulled me towards the fireplace where the bard was. Saying "Come on."
I took the closest seat to them and Lauren decided to sit on my lap which I didn't mind. She was very noticeable because of the ability ring she had equipped. Everyone stared at me with wonder as I attracted all of their eyes.
I sipped from my mug and waited for the bard to sing. Eventually, I ran out of ale and asked lauren to get more for me.
She got up and when she returned there was more alcohol for me.
"Bard can you sing a song for me," she said while putting her hand on my chest.
I had become the center of attention for once in my life because of the ability ring I made. This feeling isn't too bad I thought to myself.
The bard strummed and sang and as his music entered my soul I began to think this was the best. I loved making rings for reasons like these.
As the night went on Lauren leaned her head against my chest. She hadn't been drinking so she must just be tired I thought to myself.

8 216Kingdom of Tyr (Original)
This fiction has been concluded as of the end of Book 1, the portion of the story posted here. There will be a complete rewrite as a separate fiction in the future to make the system more consistent and add more to the world while expanding on the events within this fiction. This rewrite will begin eventually, posted as a separate story. Colt, twelve, is walking home from school when he's approached by another boy dressed oddly, who asks him - theoretically - about living in another world. After asking some information about the theoretical other world, Colt says he'd probably prefer to live there, to get away from the problems he has on Earth. Once Colt confirms that, he finds himself in an abandoned city, the other boy revealing himself to be a god, who then offers to train Colt until he can stand on his own and live by himself. After a couple of months, the god sends Colt off for greater training, to learn to use both Aura and Mana, with his only instructions being to return every now and then to visit, and to make friends and have lots of fun. This story follows Colt, a boy named Tyler he meets in the new city, and their journey to growing stronger, having fun, and striving to beat each other. Note: this story is not intended to be professional-quality, and it does draw inspiration from many sources. That said, it is its own story, in its own world. It has never been and never will be edited. It will also have multiple PoV's, starting somewhere after Chapter 8.

8 65Through Mist, Veil, and Summer
Anna Lawrence is a quiet girl who'd rather sit and write poetry than bustle about with her peers. After an incident resulting in a panic attack and a trip to the hospital, Anna's foster mother sends her to stay with her aunt and uncle for the summer. Upon arriving in the small mountain town of Glenwood, Anna finds herself caught in the machinations of another world on the other side of the fog: warring witches, animal-headed skypirates, and the boldest, bravest, most interesting girl Anna has ever met. THROUGH MIST, VEIL, AND SUMMER is my homage to Studio Ghibli films. It's a fantasy romance with a dash of adventure and a sprinkling of self-contemplation. It's a story that moves a little slower, a little quieter. It is my fourth novel, written between October 1, 2017 and January 6, 2019.
