《The Infinite Item box IS the best thing someone can have on an adventure》Chapter 44 - War

Almost as soon as the two of them said the same words, a swarm of bugs appeared in the crevices everywhere, it was like an instant army. The resistance reacted accordingly, beginning to hurl bombs that caused flames to erupt, giving them an advantage.
There were two different kinds of [Insect Demihumans] at the moment. One, the side with the vermillion resistance had grown conscious and could fight with intelligence. but the creatures that Beezlebub had made were rabid beasts, more connected to their natural counterpart, being larger, stronger and part of a hive mind.
The battlefield in a few minutes became a bloodbath, Beezlebub losing more soldiers than the other side. But there weren’t any bodies piling up, as when the first person was killed, one of the resistance's troops, he was dragged into a pile of the enemy and was consumed.
There were no screams, but the compound eyes of the enemy looked at [Demihumans] with starved eyes, many became afraid. Another person was shaking, as he saw the consumption of another soldier and looked at the massive ant [Demihuman], one that looks identical to the ones the group had seen in Limral.
It raised its massive claws and was about to swipe, but Harrian grabbed the enemies hand. The [Demihuman] was at least twice the size of Harrian, but still, the pink-haired person had changed his right arm back into the vermillion salamander, crushing the ant's hand and absorbing it.
Harrian told the person behind him to regroup, the soldier nodded and Harrian focused on a [Status Board] in front of him, which analyzed the creature. Depending on how much Harrian had absorbed, Harrian gained another starting point in [Primal] without having to use [Primal Points].
Harrian changed his arms into the ants and charged into battle, helping the frontline soldiers fight. Atogin and Allanae were fighting in the air together, using each other’s [Skills] to help each other out, every time Atogin killed or apprehended an enemy, he would take out a glass bottle filled to the brim with a grey liquid, lit a string connected to the bottle and threw it.
A massive explosion would then happen, which Atogin would end any of them in a radius. Since the last battle, Atogin had gained the common [Skill: Bloodlust], something which increased his power, but he desired people to die, negating any sympathy or filter not to.
Nicko was using the transparent aura, crushing his enemies with pure strength, also acting a shield for anyone else. He held the line for everyone else, being a figurative shield, with others using [Magic] or weapons from either side of him.
Enar was the quickest out of everyone, slicing dozens of [Demihumans] in a matter of seconds. Her blue tattoos were back, this time, her eyes were like a lions, she had a constant look of anger as her sword slowly melted with the heat of blood, only to be frozen by her again.
She was in the middle of the army, not caring for anyone else, as she was eliminating anything that stood in her way. The streets, the roofs, everything was covered by insects and other corpses, all alive, before Harrian was overwhelmed and fled into a nearby house.

It was standing on top of the world tree's roots, before he could make it, an enemy seeming to be closely related to a praying mantis grabbed the [Slimes] leg and hurled him into a building. Harrian came into contact in a wall and saw a family of three [Elves] all in a daze, so Harrian released a numerous amount of spores into the air, the family woke up and looked at Harrian, as the massive praying mantis appeared in the hole.
It sounded like buzzing before it began to cough and look around. Harrian still was able to communicate using pheromones and wondered what the mantis was saying.
“What is happening?” The mantis asked Harrian.
“You can talk?”
The mantis nodded. “All I remember is hatching and then my vision became hazy, now I’m here,”
“So a few seconds after your birth, you were controlled?”
The mantis nodded again. “But I don’t know by what?”
“I know, look through the hole,” Harrian commanded the [Demihuman].
The mantis looked out, seeing the two different [Insect Demihumans] battling, it used its right claw to point. “Which one am I on? I can hear the pheromones of who look like me, but they just keep saying the same word in the same voice, kill,”
Harrian nodded. “You look like the enemy, so don’t try to reason, follow me,”
“Wait!!” A trembling voice came from behind the two of them. “What are you d-doing!” It came from a blonde [Elf], he was tall and lanky, Harrian in a single jump meeting the [Elfs] face.
“We are in a war, between the new ruler and his creations,” Harrian said in a threatening tone.
“D-don’t you dare talk back to me in that way!” The boy yelled, stepping back and falling over a couch. “I am Merri Oak, a close relative of the royal family, stop pestering me at once!”
“And I am Harrian Stave, adopted individual into the royal family of Kilvi, lover of the third princess, and member of the [Heroes Party], now, is there someone here who can fly?”
“I can,” A large [High Elf] man, Merri’s father walked up, revealing four green wings similar to a hornet. “What do you want?”
“Take these,” Harrian pulled out of his tophat a few belts all lined what seemed to be some glass canisters holding something green. “Fly around the battlefield above the ones that look like that mantis over there and drop them, they will explode and they’ll snap out of their hypnosis, can I count on you?”
The [Elf] grabbed Harrians belts. “I will try my best,”
“Great,” Harrian turned back around and put his hand on his right ear, talking into it.
When Harrian placed a part of him into Rhin, it could also change the form, which it did, allowing Harrian to communicate with him. Harrian explained to the beetle about how the enemy is being controlled by Beezlebubs spores.

After transmitting the message, Harrian had noticed that on the mantis, with only a few minutes out of mind control, he looked a lot less rabid. Growin what seemed to be some four-fingered hands on his mantis claws, also standing more upright, Harrian smiled.
“Follow me, we’re apprehending some more of your teammates, stay with me.”
The mantis nodded and jumped down with Harrian, opening his claws as Harrian summoned [Chaos Collum], the [Dark Magician] smiled as they impacted the ground, releasing a transparent green gas.
“Tell the ones that look like and inhale this gas to fight the others who look more monstrous, and are only saying kill!” Harrian yelled out.
The mantis nodded, also realising that he could hear what Harrian was saying without pheromones. The two of them rushed back into battle, aiding others. Some of the resistance that caught glimpse of the mantis seemed to be confused, but they fought alongside it.
The [High Elf] was flying through the sky, dropping the canisters which erupted into green gas, causing the monstrous [Demihumans] to regain their senses. Some were eaten up as soon as they gained a will, whilst others grouped up and began to defend themselves.
Vespa and the other four generals commanded their troops to be more careful, any enemies that seem to be fighting against their brethren that are rabid are to not be attacked. The army cheered as Beelzebubs troops diminished even faster.
But as the commander of the losing side, he was looking over from a branch up high from the rest of Jormun. He and Ligo were watching the war, as explosions of green gas over the castle walls were beginning to diminish.
Beezlebub crushed a wine glass he had in his hands, picking up [Chaos Row] which was right next to him and looked down, his back facing the fight. Ligo noticed the and also got up, throwing away what seemed to be some dried apple slices.
He used [Decay] on the rest, and by the time he did, Beezlebub had already fallen. Ligo followed soon after, surfing on the trunk of the tree, finding Beelzebub entering the throne room. He followed the leader like a lost dog, as the massive insect rested himself onto the corrupted throne, still hundreds of people partially absorbed through the walls in the throne room, screaming.
“Dammit, how can Harrian cause so much displeasure in your plan!” Ligo yelled.
“Quite, it is true that he and his comrades are powerful, meddled my plans to kill them, but then again, I didn’t just have one ace up my sleeve, I had two,”
Beelzebub twirled his spear in the air before sticking it into the ground. [Chaos Row] began to emit a purple light, with Beelzebub grasping his weapon with two hands. As the light dimmed and vanished, Beelzebub began to talk.
“Great Serpent of the world tree Yggdrasil”
“Home of the nine worlds, with all but one have fallen”
“Chosen by me and acknowledged by you I ask”
“For a serpent who has lived ever since the birth of the universe”
“To aid your king against his enemies which risk the trees life”
Beelzebub removed his spear from the ground, looking outside, Ligo wondering what he did, The [Dark Elf] stopped wondering when the earth began to shake. Very quickly, it covered the entire battlefield in Jormun, then the surrounding area as well.
Animals sensed the disturbance and they all began to run away, an instinct that they have. But people didn’t have that instinct, as they wondered what the tremors were. Then, massive long pieces of flesh began to erupt from the ground, it scales shining like a rainbow.
As more and more of the tendrils appeared, people realised that they weren’t dealing with more of Beelzebubs army, but a single being. With one final release, the rest of the body appeared all throughout Jormun, the head coming right outside of the castle walls.
Everyone who witnessed the massive beast looked in fear. A fin on its back which ran the entirety of its body scales shimmering different colours like a rainbow. Its large snake-like body was larger than a house and could wrap around the borders or Jormun.
Its face had two-slit emerald eyes, it’s mouth was long and wide. It opened it’s mouth, revealing two lines of long hooked teeth. It breathed in a breath which everyone could hear, before letting out a battle cry.
Its roar boomed over Jormun, destroying houses and rattling eardrums anywhere it was heard. Some fainted and died from the sound, and it lasted for a few dozen seconds. The serpent closed its mouth and scanned the area which it had decimated.
Jormungandr, the beast which was named the capital of Grandage. Known in Norse mythology as the world serpent, but it was much more. It was a being of life, one that could grant it or take it away, a [Dragon] that has lived for billions of years, and was one of the strongest beings ever to exist.
When it got too strong, ‘The Creator’ cursed the serpent with weakness, slumber and enslavement to the ruler of Grandage, may that be a King, Queen or self-appointed. Nicko, seeing the scaly beast, began to walk up to it, as the two sides scattered, trying to run away from the beast, but the [Dragon-Kin] walked forward.
His scales turned to wood, his blood turned a bioluminescent blue, the translucent blue aura turned a bright green. His veins began to bulge, and his boy grew almost twice its size. Nicko’s anger was unparalleled at that moment, that even the world serpent saw him.
Nicko made a fist with his right hand and pointed it at the massive snake. “Jormungandr!! The world serpent!! Protector of Grandage!! The [Dragon] of life!! I challenge thee, to a [Dragon Duel]!!”

Despondent Divinity
There exists a Great Seal which split the world in two, one half ravaged by the Darkness, the other a safe haven of Light. Since the collapse of the old world, 20,000 years have passed, and the world watches on as their only protection from the Plague of Plagues slowly dissipates. Only the strong may survive the oncoming Demon horde, and the forgotten prince, Jack Calmira, fears he may not have what it takes. In a world where weakness is punished by death, what are weak men to do? Author's Note: Expect a chapter or two every month, but I'll get faster eventually. This story isn't a Wuxia, but it has a lot of eastern influence. The MC isn't OP and is flawed. Less action, more character driven. Constructive criticism would be appreciated as it's my first story. Chinese culture has inspired a lot of the novel, but much of it is an amalgamation of different cultures, some made up and some not. Think Xianxia + Shounen with a mix of western and eastern fantasy elements.
