《The Infinite Item box IS the best thing someone can have on an adventure》Chapter 32 - Mimic

Atogin had already used [Limit Break] and began his assault. His plan wasn't to finish Muspel there and then, but it was for something else. The [Elf] saw Atogin go behind him, grazing his right shoulder, but did nothing. Atogin quickly went into the middle of his group and looked at his right hand, which he had browsed Muspel with.
On his hand, there was a mouldy green liquid, the feeling being similar to snot, slimy and sticky. The liquid pulsed, growing even more significant, only by a small amount, but then the fight truly began.
"[Mold Magic: Controlled Growth]!" Muspel put his hands out to the side, raised upwards, as though he was praising the sun.
The nasty liquid then stopped moving, and a hand quickly grew from it, trying to choke Atogin. The hand came close to grabbing the [Demihuman] before Nicko intervened, as he burnt the hand with flames that had come from his mouth.
But there wasn't only one attack from Muspel, that hand was, in fact, a fungus, that could kill living beings, like the group, it's a shame it didn't work before. Muspel slowly released spores during the route, and with Harrian coughing, he began to absorb the spores with the [Infinite Item Box] and stored them.
Nicko already jumped at Muspel, him gracefully dodging the barrage of fists from Nicko. Enar tried to surprise Muspel, by attacking from the left, but weirdly, he counteracted both attacks. As Nicko was about to hit Muspel, his form changed.
Muspel's chest dried, which made his chest slimmer, making the attack miss. Although his right hand grew, guiding Nicko's fist into Enar's jaw, the two of them toppling over each other into the ground. Harrian and Atogin tried, with the [Dark Magicians] scythe almost hitting Muspel, but again, his chest changed form and moved away from the attack, unlike the rest of his body which stayed the same.
The group's attacks had failed, and Muspel was only hit twice, Harrian chopped off his limb which grew back, and Atogin, who grazed the shoulder, healed in under a second. Muspel was about to start an attack himself, moving, so Harrian stepped forward.
"You wonder why I was a [Slime] and now a man once again, the truth is, I'm not," Harrian's hand slowly absorbed [Chaos Column], as well as the clothing on his right arm.
Slowly raising his right arm to the side, it began to change. Lines began to appear between his fingers, going all the way down to his shoulder, splitting the hand into five pieces. Afterwards, they began to detach from the lines, and the arm had divided into five almost identical tentacles. Each one of the five limbs began to change its the shape, muscles formed and the ends of them, which were once fingers turned into black blades, the same colour as Harrian's's Harrian's's Harrian's's Harrian's's Harrian's's Harrian's's sytche.
Harrian dashed towards Muspel, his right tentacles going for a specific joint: ankle, elbow, shoulder, hip and wrist, all to the right. The [Elf] didn't suspect an attack like that, and two of the five blades hit, making contact with the ankle and wrist. Underneath the blades, Harrian tentacles made a little hole, which began to shoot fire towards Muspel, making the [Elf] scream.
Harrian then jumped back towards his group, while his right hand returned to normal, the clothes also reappearing as well. Everyone was shocked by what just happened.
"What the hell! Why didn't you tell us that a parasite was in your arm!" Atogin yelled.

"Not right now!" Harrian yelled back "I'll explain later but… let's get a bit more serious."
Harrians head split into four equal segments, each changing into a similar form like his hands once did, although sprouting three eyes and a mouth, each one present on the bottom of the ever-changing limbs.
The limbs began to attack Muspel, three on the attack and one on defence, changing forms in midair, which only Muspel and Harrian could follow. Atogin was sort of able to keep up, solely if he focused directly on the attacks, leaving him open, which Muspel used.
"[Mold Magic: Mycelium Series: Threads of Decay]," Out of Muspel's fingernails appear furry white puffs which began to expand further away, growing smaller, all until the nails turned back to normal, and invisible veins of white covered the battlefield.
Harrian saw this, and he warned everyone, in the state he was in, [Thread Control] would seem near impossible. Atogin at the last second had realized an attack from one of the white veins was aimed towards him. Nicko's right fist lit up with a regular flame, as he punched the air, destroying the white threads as so, going through Atogin, protecting him.
Muspel twitched when the fiery punch partially weakened his control over the area, it then connected with Nicko, as he noticed that the temperature around him had improved, also seeing a small diminish in Muspel's speed, making the [Elf] change again.
Two ears on either side of his head appeared, one above and below the original ears also discoloured towards a mouldy green. His right eye then grew another pupil and iris away from the original; something is known as pupula duplex. His crimson hair turned a light mouldy green as well, growing and turning into limbs like Harrians, although not as powerful.
Seeing this, Enar finally used her [Taboo Skill], [Envy]. Her tattoos turned to emerald green, changing again, to form a pattern on her arms, expected to be a snake. A hiss was heard from the [Hero], and she began to attack at the speed of Harrians blades using her rapier. Atogin thanked Nicko before trying to keep up with pace himself, using [Limit Break] to help with that.
Nicko was of no help in speed, but then he realized what they were facing, and decided to try something. Bracing his legs, he jumped onto the walls of the battlefield, which were filled with the trees of Grandage.
They stood their ground, the weakest branches were hard to break, but somehow, Nicko was breaking the twigs he stepped on, without [Draconic Rage], when he was running up the opening, towards the skylight, which was covered in canopies of trees.
Nicko braced himself and broke through the canopy, quickly looking around to see a clear land on one side and a forest on the other. Breaking out of the sightseeing, Nicko then finally activated [Draconic Rage], his cheeks began to turn a glowing yellow.
"[Ancient Magic: Dragonic Magic: Burn affinity: Salamanders roar]!" Nicko opened his mouth, and a massive wave of flame tried to burn the canopy but was failing.
It was lucky that Harrian had one eye on Nicko, curious of what he was up to, and he saw and realized what the [Dragon-Kin] was trying to do. He used [Black Magic] on the flames, giving them the effects of [Decay] making them larger and begging to burn through the canopy.
Muspel also noticed the massive amount of light appearing and began to scream. Atogin and Enar backed away, covering their ears, unlike Harrian which had no ears, but still, he decided to return to his original head, also making his ears reappear.

After the yelling was over, and Muspel went into a rampage, trying to attack Harrian, he ran towards Nicko and picked him up, as the [Dragon-Kin] was unconscious. A splash of water went onto his face, which came from Harrian and he woke up.
Nicko's head was in pain, [Dragonic Magic] was something he had just learnt, and yet he burnt the forest of Grandage. Harrian then carried Nicko with his left hand as his right arm changed. It turned into a massive pink translucent ball which was then put on Nicko's face.
Holes at the back of his jaw began to heal, his skin returned to normal, as the ball absorbed the damaged skin. Nicko's face was perfectly healthy, and he jumped off Harrian, into midair, tearing off a stick of a nearby tree and throwing it at Muspel.
It was at the speed in which Nicko could follow, as he was the slowest in the group, they had no hope that Muspel would be hit by it. Surprisingly, the stick made contact and Nicko braced himself while colliding with the ground, making a small crater around him. The group came together, and readied themselves for the next attack, as Muspel was still having a breakdown.
"What did you do?" Enar asked, switching her sword for her staff.
"Isn't it simple, Harrian showed it to me, his weakness, fire," Nicko replied.
"So why didn't you use that against him! Not the canopy!"
"Because he would've healed, and I realized what he is,"
"What!"
"It's obvious that he's a fungus! [Mold Magic]! Which thrives in cool, moist, partially lighted areas, so I removed all three, making him much weaker,"
"Sunlight will begin to evaporate the water, is already slowing down fungi growth, and raising its temperature, Nicko you're a genius!" Atogin commented.
"Not right now, as it seems that this fungus has adapted,"
Muspel was clawing at its face, green fluid running down from scratches it was making to itself. His lower jaw opened more and more until it reached the start of the ribs, where a green tongue began to drool green fluid. His toe and fingernails began to grow about another four inches. Skin began to fall off his body, no liquid coming out, revealing what was inside.
A continually changing wrinkly green fungus was behind the skin, pulsing a bright yellow, revealing it's veins each pulse. But the group didn't look away until they felt something. A pulsing sensation was felt across the ground, and everyone looked down.
Massive thick tentacles, similar to Muspel's skin in colour erupted from the earth and tried to attack the group, all missing. Nicko stood on one, and launched himself at Muspel, trying to get in another attack. Putting his right hand into a fist, putting it on fire using [Magic], Nicko was sure that this would harm the fungus a lot.
But it didn't hit, based on an object which appeared between the two. At first, it was a green ovoid, but then it began to change shape, similar to what Marchosias did when he first appeared in the [Dungeon]. Two arms, legs, slender body, and green hair which made Nicko lose it.
Kaloko had appeared right in between the two and Nicko, stopping his flaming fist and stared in awe. Some tears began to fill up, but it ended with him coughing up blood. While Nicko was distracted, Muspel went straight through his heart with a large needle, throwing his lifeless body back into the group.
Harrian saw what was coming, so he crouched, before jumping up and grabbing Nicko, only to also be damaged by colliding with the wall and falling lifeless as well. Atogin saw this and put all of his [Speed] into [Limit Break], something he had not done before.
He was going straight up to Muspel faster than he could react, before raining down a barrage of quick fists.
"Sin Sin Sin Sin Sin Sin Sin," Muspel kept healing "SinSinSinSinSinSinSinSin!" He wasn't leaving a mark "SINSINSINSINSINSINRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"'t leaving a mark "SINSINSINSINSINSINRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Muspel then punched Atogin in the chest so hard that he rolled a couple of metres on the ground, Muspel quickly healing the hand he punched him with, as he had damaged it in the process.
Enar set an onslaught of [Fireballs] towards Muspel, only for a tenth of them to hit, where the flames wouldn't spread. She positioned her staff before using her [Taboo Skill].
"[Seven Deadly Sins: Envy Series: Stage 2]" Enar's eyes turned yellow, while her pupils became slits like a snake.
She ran at Muspel, and he decided to move finally, two arms on each side of his body sprouted, making the total six.
The [Hero] became quickly overwhelmed with the attacks, so she decided to try something dangerous. Putting her staff back, the circle folded up and made it look more like a hollowed spearhead.
"[Hero Spear Arts: Purifying Thrust]!" The green tattoos around Enar's arms changed to a glowing white, her spear doing the same thing.
She thrust it through Muspel, leaving a clean large gaping hole in his chest, only for it to heal in ten seconds, making Enar cough blood herself.
Seeing that Muspel had defeated the entire [Heroes Party], he began to kick Enar who was barely clinging onto consciousness. Every word Muspel said, would be followed by a kick into Enar's abdomen
"Why! Would! I! NEED! TO! WORRY! ABOUT! THE...se."
Looking to the other side of the battlefield, Muspel saw Nicko slowly getting up. The small wound on his chest where he was pierced had healed, and as he got up, small pieces of black bone began to fall. Harrian, who was supposed to be behind him, had just vanished. But two [Chaos Columns], were on either side of him, Nicko grabbed them with either hand.
During that time, Nicko showed his teeth as his muscles got more significant. All his scales began to change to larger ones and the colour black, unlike his regular dark amber, this included his teeth and hair. It wasn't [Molte] as it would pulse red; it was another metal.
'This power, I haven't felt this out of any of them, so where is it coming from' Muspel thought.
And as he was thinking, something opened up on his forehead. A third eye, which was the [Eye of Elements] appeared on Nicko's forehead. Something no one had seen ever since anyone had come to this world, the power of a [Taboo Skill], which could rival life as they knew it.

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.
