Daryl had the option to go back but he realized the past is a dead and wasted relic—that if he went there, he would be a ghost to what he is now, today, for his new present's future was his only hope of continuing forward. So, he refrained from further time jumps as he'd finally experienced what a futurist warned him about all along—temporal angst.
