"GO ON!" the small mantis squeeked from inside of the glass bottle with a cork blocking its escape.
"N-no I can't!" Razyl responded apologetically, they were under the large tree at the fort again.
"If he's giving you a hard time..." Mi said making her hand do a shaking gesture.
Phyl was visibly frightened by this.
"It's alright, no need to scare the little guy," Razyl responded.
"That little guy could whoop your ass in three seconds," Mi replied.
On the other side of the tree sat Kaber drinking a disgusting potion brewed by Heenia who used a few bowls provided by Mi to make a makeshift alchemy lab.
Gyll was laying in the grass, suddenly he jumped up into a sitting position with a gasp.
"Thank goodness, looks like the medicine worked!" Heenia said cheerfully.
"Good job, miss!" Kaber replied with a relieved sigh.
"Oh look, our glove enthusiast woke up," Mi said tossing a small wrapped object to Gyll.
Gyll unwrapped the object, ignoring Mi's remark.
it was a ring, "Look, I know you're glad to see me but there is no need to get marr-" Gyll began speaking jovially before he was interrupted by a rock smashing into his head.
"As if," Mi said, sitting back down, leaving behind a small crater from where the rock was.
"Mi, don't!" Heenia called out, rushing over to Gyll's side.
Gyll opened his eyes, still, in a daze, the world looked blurry.
"M-Mi is that you? You don't look as flat a usually-" Gyll's face yet again met a large rock,
A few minutes of desperate healing and eventually resorting to gagging gyll so he wouldn't dig himself a deeper grave gyll went back to his normal self.
Gyll was rubbing his head, while drinking some tea, made my Heenia.

"Oh, yeah. What is that thing you threw to me?" Gyll asked, looking at the ring.
"After that peep-squeak got out of the glove, it lost most of its power, lucky for your there is a tiny amount of it still left inside," Mi explained.
Gyll's face lit up, "Are you saying..." Gyll awaited Mi's further explanation.
"You can use VERY limited magic, as in basically you just punch things harder," Mi explained.
Gyll puts on the ring and pulls his fist back, waits for a second and then punches the air ahead of him.
Gyll began pouting, "But you said-"
"I dunno what's up this time," Mi said with a shrug.
"You don't expect to be able to use my artefact without any actual talent do you!?" Phyl laughed, falling onto his back.
A long silence fell over the group.
"Well, guess you'll have to teach me then!" Gyll said with a thumbs up.
"LIKE HELL I WILL," Phyl yelled out.
"YOU RUINED MY LIFE!" Phyl added.
"I mean, to be fair you did start it this whole ordeal," Gyll said.
"No, I won't teach you, no matter what!" Phyl yelled standing his ground.
Mi gave Kaber a nod and moved up next to Gyll, "Hah, guess he can't actually fight." Mi said sarcastically.
Kaber walked up next, "Guess he's all talk after all." Kaber said with his palm over his mouth as if to clearly show he's whispering.
Rage, embarrassment, hatred, build up inside Phyl, "I can fight!" Phyl called out stomping his little bug legs on his glass floor.
Gyll walked over to the bottle which was left standing on a wooden stump.
Gyll places a hand on the bottle and with a smile says, "It's ok, I understand. No hard feelings."
Phyl relaxed a bit, "Well, I don't agree with you human, but I'm glad that-"
"We can learn to fight together!" Gyll announced cracking his knuckles.
Phyl placed his little hand on his face, "Oh for f-"

2039 - Earth A narrow beam energy signal appeared aimed squarely at earth from the TRAPPIST system. The communication consisted of a layered set of repeating data over several thousand wavelengths. Over the next few months scientists discovered that the lower wavelengths carried an encoded numerical language which could then be used to interpret the more complicated messages carried on the higher wavelengths. After half a year of painstaking work the signal was fully decoded. It described a small satellite launched along a precise trajectory towards the fourth planet of our solar system. Included was a package of advanced research that humanity would need to have ready in order to receive the satellite and decelerate it safely. The alien data provided the kick that humanity needed to turn from petty squabbling and unite to explore the final frontier. Major government and corporate leaders worked together to create the framework for the United Federation of Sol. UFS spaceports went from scaffolding to daily launches in every major city around the globe. Ships floated like dandelion seeds, spreading on solar wind to grow into colonies. 2397 - Mars orbit, Egeria Station The command center was a hive of activity as checks were conducted and systems initialized. Scientists flitted by like mayflies as communicators beeped and holoscreens spat out green tinted readouts. Nervous energy was thick in the air as everyone anticipated the culmination of over three hundred years of work. Massive fusion reactors under the planet's surface thrummed with barely restrained power as energy fed into a gleaming metallic maze criss crossing the planet. Metal fingers reached up, overshadowing the mighty olympus mons and trying to grab the stars. All over the solar system, people quickly turned to look as gigantic energy lances shot from the dusty fourth planet. Two years later. The same people that clapped loudly at the successful activation of project Hermes now wait with baited breath. A silver capsule trailing bright photonic sails is captured by a net of grav beams and guided with care bordering on reverence into the station. Holoscreens across the headquarters project an image of the sleek craft settling in the bay. Data connections are established and the holoscreens blink to white. Slowly an image forms on the screen. Across the headquarters people stare in wonder as a wholly alien face stares back. "Contact established. Welcome to the universe."
