《Cent Five》Chapter 21: Dishes

Lem's the one who gets her questions in first. "How did you end up in that hell hole?"

I give her a wry smile. "I logged out for a while, I log back in and Nephos has a bunch of players restrained." I shrug, I don't know.

"Why did she do that? She's not a psycho."

I clear my thoughts and nod with affirmation. "Let's ask her." Lem's rented a hotel room. There's a pub and restaurant on the lower floor and the upper floor has a room.

It's not as greasy or grimy. There's a minimum level of hygiene. Lem's status immediately falls into a spend-thrift. Everyone is a spend-thrift in my eyes.

I open the door and there's a large window right in front of me. The dark pitch black sky is extending up into the heavens.

Nephos is sitting in-front of it, her robe is gone and her dark green vine-hair is trailing down her back. I go and sit beside her, she doesn't stir. I haven't considered the emotional impact or the cultural shock all of this must be for her.

"Why did you do that?"

She turns to me and there's confusion in her eyes, "They were harassing me."

I nod my head. I don't need any more information, how can I be angry about this? I take out the druid class book and hand it to her. "This is the druid class book. You need to learn three basic skills to initialize this class."

I give her the whole run down about it. She can't read it so, I explain each skill in as much detail as possible. "We should get you a language stone for you as soon as possible."

Language stone's were exactly as their name implied. It was rumoured that language stone's for higher beings such as dragons existed and they provided access to a whole new magic system.

I set my thoughts in order and turn to Lem, I do trust her. Should I tell her about my quest for the skill shard? There's no immediate advantage for telling her at the moment. I decide to leave Nephos in Lem's care. She doesn't mind, they've bonded with each other a lot.

There's a small glow as the flowers on Nephos' head bloom. She's surprised at its effect. "I think that's a result of the herbology skill. This is the first time I've manipulated them."

Her synergy with this class is insane. It's a given since she's a dryad, if only she didn't have to rely on a tree. I think she's going to have this class down in record time.

I'm going to log-out. There's a forum I have to check. Jeon was going to put up a bounty for some summoner. Something like that can't be issued as a quest but there's many online forums for such work.

I wake up, grab a bar and start searching them up. It takes me close to two hours but I've narrowed it down to three quests. All three are summoner's. Their gamer ID's are given and the descriptions say they're in the area around Grem's city.

It's easy to find the people that accepted these quests. I PM each of them and offer them extra money (yes, my heart is bleeding) if they send this information to me as well. I note down the info about these summoner's for myself as well.

I'll keep a lookout as well. I log back in. The hotel room is empty, Lem and Nephos are gone. I plop down on a bed. It'll be sunrise in a few hours. I focus on the last enchantment I have to learn. It's called [Sight Imprint].

I practice it for about thirty minutes before it activates:

[Enchantment Activated!]

[Sight Imprint]

I look around the room and I'm not sure what its about at first. Then I close my eyes and the hotel room's layout is embedded in my eyes. I experiment with a bit more and it lasts for about fifteen minutes.

It's akin to gaining permanent visual memory for fifteen minutes. I've been ignoring the juicier notifications.

[New Class Acquired!]

[Enchanter: LvL 1]

I've been pursuing this for weeks. Now I need to build up a suite of enchantments. I'm going to focus on physical buffs, magical resistances and damage enhancements.

I'm not going to focus on enhancing and providing buffs to other people. I have an idea of what I want next. It's a small one called [Increase Gravity]. I'm going to apply it on myself.

I have agility, however, the armour is very light. That's the reason why I fly away from massive hits. Increasing my gravity will increase the force of my punches and keep me grounded.

I need another 3500 to meet my quota. The skill shop is not going to be open at the moment but I head down to the quest lobby.

There's a lot of quests, most of them are about subjugating monsters but none of them are paying enough, the time vs. reward ratio is not enough. I do stumble on one quest and its got about 500 credits, it shouldn't take too long but its about washing dishes.

Nothing's worse than working in a mine day-in and out. I show up to the tavern and a fat jovial middle-aged elf lady greets me.

"You're going to have to work fast. These dishes need to be washed up before sunrise."

I thank my lucky stars that I decided to equip my armour before I showed up. "Don't worry, I'll be fast."

I grab a bucket of water, arrange the dishes into a neat pile, starting from the tea cups to giant pans meant for cooking. I cast [Quick Run] on myself and put my insane agility to use. I cast [Brute Buff] when I'm scrubbing the giant greasy pans. I get to practice my enchantments and earn money at the same time.

I was done before sunrise. I need more quests like this.
