《Cent Five》Chapter 11: Encounter

I have a total of four skills now. [Air Writing] is the most important right now. Levelling it up to five should get me initiated into the enchanter class.
I decide to head down to the quest board and get another quest. This is my life these days, grinding skills and doing quests. As for the [Switch Build] shard, Jeon990 was here. That must mean he has access to some sort of info. More so, he was in the forest.
I just don't know how to go about this. There isn't enough information on hand. I'm walking through a hoard of people and that just sparks an idea in me. I need money to execute it.
I go down to the quest board and scroll through the quests. There are some menial quests along the lines of washing dishes, being a waiter or all that.
Then there's a quest that catches my eye. [Bring back thirty fangs of twenty Saber-Bats]
Saber bats are giant bats similar to the one I hunted that day in the forest, the day I discovered the Armour.
I'm about to PM Lem but her ID isn't active right now, she hasn't logged in yet. I buy a few ingredients for a simple vegetable broth along the way. I buy some salt too. I should get the cooking skill.
The quest provided me with info as to their habitat. I go back and leave the ingredients in the cave. The dryad wraps up in a ball of thorns and vines. It's very convenient to have her around.
We move down to their habitat and just wait. Theses bats don't reside in caves, they're too large for that. Instead, they hang upside down from trees.
That's going to be their undoing. I have a dryad on my side. She uses her magic to wraps thorny vines around their legs.

The bats start flapping and fly away. If I had a bow or something I could just shoot them out of the air. Instead, I move in, jump up and grab one of its wings. I stab it through its leathery wing. There's a burst of blood and it covers my Armour.
I enchant myself with [Brute Buff]. There's a cool flow of energy blowing through my body. It doesn't last as long as I would like but any boost is good boost.
I move on to the next one. It takes us less than an hour to take care of these bats. Now, I have to take out the fangs. I grab and pull them out, it takes me a lot of wrangling to get them out. I look at the giant bat bodies and the amount I'm leaving behind. If Lem was here, she would dismantle and take out the most valuable parts.
I have to learn [Beast Dismantling]. I can't just let all this money go to waste. It's not pain, instead, it's pure agony when I'm about to waste all this money. I rub the tears out of my eyes and turn my back.
In the healing category, the basic enchantment is [Dull Pain]. For defence, there's [Hardened Skin]. I don't think it's that useful for me but, I can cast it on the dryad.
I still refer to her as the dryad. I should give her a name. I'm bad at names but twenty minutes of wracking my brain on the way back to the city gives me some ideas. It takes me a while but I come up with a good one.
I go back and get about 60 new frags. 40 go straight out to the dismantling skill. I have about a hundred or so frags left. I should stop buying skills now and focus on getting money for the hospital bills.

I do some quick mental math and it comes out to a total of 4580 frags. That's the minimum payment. The rest is going to be converted into a debt payment in about three months.
I just need to focus on the immediate payment. Along with the other bills it'll come to a total of 6000 frags. I'm making peanuts compared to that. I wasn't able to make this much even when working in the mine. Those monthly interest rates are crushing me under a mountain load. I shudder when I even try to estimate how much I owe. Let's just not go there.
I grab the [Beast Dismantle] skill and head back to our make-shift base. I'm out of my Armour and that's when I spot him. It's Jeon990. I wouldn't mistake those swords anywhere.
We make eye-contact for a brief second but I keep on moving. He's got one other person along with him.
Jeon's not a very high-level player but he does have a large social media following. It garners him a lot of attention. I think a few people recognize him even here.
They're heading to a pub. I follow them in a few minutes later. I sit a few tables away and try to make myself as inconspicuous as possible.
They're talking in hushed tones and I can't hear anything. They leave after thirty minutes. I haven't heard a single word.
"Was that really the JaredEater?"
"Yup." I think the other player along with Jeon was famous too.
"He's a regular. I think he's trying to work through every single monster in the forest. His cooking skill is pretty high as well."
They're regulars at this bar, that's all I need to know. I need to find out the classes of these two guys. I'll have to log out for that. Before that, I spend a hundred frags and wipe out all my funds to get my hands on a particular enchantment product. I also buy a pan for five frags, one of its handles is broken.
I'll need it for cooking. I go back and gather some wood, set it on fire and knuckle down. I have to learn the [Cooking] skill. I'm not wasting money on food.

8 120A Man and His Greatsword
Michael Adkins is a unique 28-year-old man. Born with above average strength and emerald green eyes, he always wanted to live in a fantasy world. He was very much into fantasy light novels, manga, and anime, especially a certain one that involves a black armored man with a large greatsword. Michael always dreamed of going on an adventure in a fantasy world. On a whim, Michael is summoned by the god of Alorah, one of the fantasy worlds he had always read about! Alorah's God, Eden, gives Michael a choice of three bonuses and a custom class to take with him into Alorah. This is the start of Michael's fantasy adventures. P.S. This is my first novel, I'm writing this since there were little novels I've found with a main character that wields a greatsword. Don't expect anything good. There will be a lot of mistakes, so please help me with that! P.P.S The later chapters will (hopefully) be much less cringy than the early ones. Please give it a shot!

8 186Body Modifier: Energy Required
Aria ate a fish. [Energy: 2] Finished, he ate another fish. [Energy: 2] ... [Energy: 3] Without realizing it, he had finished 5 fishes. He felt a little bloat, he lay down with a full stomach, occasionally burped. Even though he didn't want to be a big lump of meatball, he still had to keep eating. At least until he found another way to accumulate energy. After all, if he didn't take advantage of his advantages, wasn't that stupid? His mind then drifted imagining which one he would use the energy for. Should he use it on his eyes, so it shot a beam of laser, like a certain bespectacled mutant? Should he use it on his bones, so it regenerated infinitely, like a certain character from an anime? Should he use it on his brain, so he became a genius, like a scientist with a bald head? Or should he use it on his vital organ, so that he became the manliest person in the world? While he was imagining things, suddenly his ears felt pinched. "Ouch!" "Didn't mom already say you can't play with fire, you brat?!" There he realized, knowing that no matter what he chose, he was still a child in front of his mother.
