《Military Summoning System in the Medieval Apocalyptic World》First Kill

The howling winds came from afar as the sky turns crimson. It was now the onset of noon. The damp forest suddenly turned icy as the growls of hunger could be heard from afar. It replaced the deafening silence by turning heavens to earth upside down. Various sizes of hordes were now on the move, hunting for its soon to be prey. Moments passed the sky has now turned dark and thunderous thunders strikes the ground as the icy forest was now set ablaze.
Ferdinand heard this sound, which sent shivers down his spine. Ferdinand was exploring his system more, in which he found three more things, that is National Focus, Personal Focus, and lastly Quest. From what Ferdinand understand the two focus tabs are some sort of like achievement, mixed with quest, and quest the tab itself is for doing missions for the system itself.
National Focus (User has to establish a nation first) (These focuses are for building a nation, completing the focus will reward the user with substantial rewards) (Exploration can unlock new pathways)
An Organization
(Prerequisites: Must have a platoon.)
Personal Focus (User personal achievements) (Exploration can unlock new pathways)
Points Is Of The Essence
(Prerequisites: Kill 10 Walkers)
Quest (Similar to missions, user can decide to accept or not to accept a quest. Giving out a quest in a timely manner, or the times where significant change can be done if it was accepted, similarly quest can be also just be given to encourage the user to have a productive lifestyle)
Normal Quest
Kill A Walker (Reward 1000 points)
Destiny Quest (The various gods and demons have noticed your presence in this world. The gods have now given your blessings to survive in this world, and the demons have ordered their massive ranks of walkers to hunt for you. You must survive until daybreak to prove your worth) (Rewards 20,000 Points. You’ll be able to keep your blessings. The demons will see you as someone as worthy of living here, so they won’t bother you again for the time being) (System will give you a weapon to so that you could survive in the wilderness, you may choose your weapon. Mark 1 Knife. Mark 1 Bolt-Action Rifle. Mark 1 Saber.)

Upon seeing the destiny quest, cold sweats started running down the back of Ferdinand. Who would have thought that he will start off on his new life here by surviving on the massive onslaught of walkers. Almost immediately Ferdinand picked the Mark 1 Knife, as to why, he has a sword in the Imperial Federation, but unfortunately it’s just for decoration, and if he followed the novels that he had read back then, then the Mark 1 Bolt-Action Rifle is a no go for the time being, because it will create a loud sound that could attract unwanted attention.
After picking the Mark 1 Knife, almost immediately a bright light entered Ferdinand’s vision and then a knife with a black handle with a silver metal fell down to his hands. On a bush meters away from Ferdinand, he heard a growl. Ferdinand detected this and so he immediately got into his battle position. Then, quickly, a figure dashed towards Ferdinand. Ferdinand could react quickly before the figure could get close to him. He stabbed the head of the figure. To Ferdinand’s surprise the figure or the walker now is still moving despite being stabbed in the brain, as the walker was about to bite the hand of Ferdinand, Ferdinand quickly brought the walker using his knife into the ground to which he immediately pushed his foot to step on the face of the walker and pulled out his knife.
Silently back stepping, Ferdinand observed the walker. He found that the body of the walker was very much tattered. Then a question sprung up from his head. If they are both half living and dead, what are they eating to survive? Observing the walker again, he found the walker was now getting back up. The clothes of the walker were now tattered, and it seems like it’s been a long time since it was turned. Another question was hovering above Ferdinand’s head once again, he thought that how do the virus was being transmitted or if it was even a virus, and if he is now also infected by the virus ever since arriving in this world. So Ferdinand decided to just ask the system itself.

‘System, how is the virus being transmitted?’
[THE SYSTEM ALSO DOESN’T KNOW, YOU MUST FIND IT OUT YOURSELF]
‘Damn, the system isn’t willing to answer. It must be a secret,’
Silently observing the walker getting up, Ferdinand took once again the initiative to kill the walker, and so he silently tiptoed to go to the walker, minimizing the sound as much as possible. Before the walker was about to stand up, Ferdinand found where the heart of it lays, so he immediately stabbed where the heart lays of a human. After Ferdinand stabbed the heart, he was shocked to find out that it wasn’t completely dead yet. Ferdinand then goes into deep thought.
If the walker still survives, even if it was stabbed both in the heart and the brain, then it is most likely regenerating and doesn’t completely kill the walker. Ferdinand then had an idea. What if he cut off the link between the heart and the brain? Which was the neck itself, or the spinal cord, he thought to himself. Ferdinand had to test this out, so he once again moved to where the walker was.
The walker saw Ferdinand once again moving in towards its location, and this time, the walker was visibly agitated. The walker let out a shriek that the heavens could hear. This shocked Ferdinand and so he immediately went in for the kill. Ferdinand dashed towards the walker and slashed its neck. A crimson flower of blood came out of it, then the head was split off from the main body.

Candor: The Forgotten House
*** Please read note below *** As a 16-year-old mage from a powerful family, Jayce Candor had known from a young age what his future would hold. As the fourth son in his family the possibility of him becoming the heir to the household was very small. But, with his talent as a mage, his potential accomplishments in the military could lead to titles of nobility and political power. However, on what would otherwise be an unremarkable night, everything he had ever known, the only people he ever cared for, and all of the plans for his future were destroyed. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. By imperial decree, all those bearing the name Candor were hunted down and executed as traitors of the Empire. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

If your answer is yes, then you have come to the right place. Join us and watch as he slowly gets fucked up(figuratively) by the foreign world he was kidnapped to. Watch him slowly morph from a normal teen into a sociopath who enjoys murdering, suffers from PTSD, and see how he tries to redeem himself from it. And much much more, only at Genre: Fantasy. T&C may apply. This is a slow-paced novel(the prologue itself consists of a dozen chapters.) that pressurizes more on the relations between its characters. Death is common, so better not get attached to characters here and there.
