《Asher the Insane》Zedro the Lost

Where the wise woman had settled down was just outside the city.
It was just a small hut by the looks of it. It seemed that she was a humble person not very attached to her earthly belongings.
She was outside, hunched over, tending to an array of plants that I assumed were some kind of herbs.
She was an old woman anyone could have described as a grandmother with lots of wrinkles and gray hair in a bun.
"Excuse me," I said, trying to get her attention.
She swore under her breath, "not another one," then turned around, hands on her hips waiting for me to say my bid.
"My name is Zedro Diringer. I am the head priest of the church of Alexandra in Aloshir," I introduced myself, "are you perhaps the woman people have come to in time of need? Miss Burell the Wise Woman, if I may ask?"
"Yeah, so?" She plainly asked.
"I came here for advice," I answered.
She put her hands down and went inside the hut gesturing me to follow.
When I entered I was very surprised, it was larger on the inside than it was on the outside and it was decorated in a very peculiar manner with lots of bookshelves and paintings on the walls depicting groups of people who often shared the similarity of having spiky hair in widely differing colors.
She sat down next to a table with refreshments already lain down on it.
"So, what's the problem, chief?"
I sat down opposite her, "it's multifaceted."
"Shoot."
"Now, almost a week ago a relic has been stolen from the church, a medallion," I began.
She seemed very disinterested.
"It has been bestowed to us by the Goddess Alexandra herself thousands of years ago."

"Does it do anything?"
"Supposedly it can call upon her, though none of have dared since it has gotten into human hands. One day it was in the vaults, with the highest security the church could muster then the next it vanished without a trace but an ideogram had been left behind, scratched on a wall. It was the face of the Goddess with lines run through it, marking it to be the work of The Black Order of Urien. Their leader being a man named Aebshem."
"'Black Order of Urien', really?" She mocked.
"Worship of the dark god has been outlawed for a while but they to plainly ignore it. Their so-called temple lies east of here but most do not dare to venture near it."
"Did you send someone to get it back?"
"Of course I did, but as of yet, they have not returned. I am not sure if they had contact with the order yet, but I am not shaken in the belief of their abilities."
"You sent at least 4 to 5, right?"
"Yes, five to be exact. Every single one with very refined skills."
"Let me tell you the condition of their success. They gotta have a leader, a lancer, a big guy, a small guy, a chick. You got that?"
"I do not believe I fully understand."
"Here's something else they could be. The leader gotta be the strongest but also stupid. You're average Goku or Luffy. They gotta have a woman, right? Just a woman, doesn't really matter what she does. She can fight or not, most likely be a support or some kind of healer. Someone who is smart, the tactician but also has to be the weakest physically. Oh, and don't forget the rival to the MC, someone who's similar in strength but smarter and often edgier, and he's gotta fall off later. Does the group you sent have this kind of dynamic, yes or no?"

"...I don't think so."
"Then they're dead," she stood up and grabbed a lantern and a walking stick then headed out.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm nice Asher now. I gotta save them, don't I?"
She was out of sight and I mumbled, "but you did not even answer my question..."

What would an anime be like from the perspective of a background character? From birth, Reikawa Yuuya has had the ability to see the character arcs of the people around him, a skill passed down through his family. Combined with his extremely low presence, Yuuya is in the perfect position to be an observer in countless stories. The thing is, though, the humans in this city aren’t people. Not to him.And he’s afraid of what they can become.(Disclaimer: This is a psychological drama. Yuuya starts the story off with severe psychological and emotional trauma that only decays as the story proceeds. If you're looking for a witty meta story with a cool power-fantasy MC, this isn't it.)Also on Wordpress at zerovisible.wordpress.com

Gray's Crucible
“The value you have brought to trade is immense, more than a thousand fold what any other traveler to Crucible has ever produced. More than even I produced during my journey.” The old man paused for a moment here, seemingly reluctant to continue. After a few seconds he begins again with weariness creeping into his voice. “As the Messenger of Crucible I have received the value of your life. You shall be awarded a body with potential equaling the value you have brought to this place in accordance with the laws of the higher realms. Now you shall depart for Crucible, but first; I, Jaze, will give you some advice.” The old man, Jaze, he had named himself paused a time. Time enough that Gray began to wonder if he was still present, when he suddenly continued in a low and serious tone, “You will undoubtedly have great potential Gray of Earth, but it is still only potential. What could be is not necessarily what will be. If you step foolishly in my world, if you can not live up to the potential you have bartered for, Crucible will crush you mercilessly and tear away your very soul.” A thought, cheerful and light was heard from Gray before his presence was sent rocketing away like a shooting star. “I’m looking forward to it.”
