Adam entered the ladder and began to descend towards the cave, the trip took him a long time and there were many times that he had to stop to catch his breath.

As he reached the hallway that led into the cave, Adam noticed in the distance that someone had laid a red rug on the wooden floor. With some hesitation, Adam stepped onto the red carpet and walked across the carpet to the eyeless old man's bookshelf.

After a few steps down the red carpet, Adam could see how confectionery went out into the corridors, scaring the already tired young man a little. Then the shelves on the sides of the aisle put their heads out, began to move their mouths in unison, it seemed that they were singing a song to Adam.

But Adam was not listening to anything, for which he felt very embarrassed by the reception that had been prepared for him. Upon reaching the eyeless old man's shelf, he noticed that even more candy was thrown into the air, spilling over his body. The eyeless old man's head came out of the bookshelf, and he too began to sing in unison with the other heads.

After singing for a while, the eyeless old man said a few words to Adam, he seemed to be very excited and euphoric as he spoke. But Adam just stared at him in a daze until he told him with some compassion for the embarrassment that the scene was causing him:

—I can't hear them, I'm deaf.

The eyeless old man looked at him suspiciously, but he noticed that Adam's ears were stained with blood and somewhat dried, however he spoke again. Adam stood in a daze trying to read his lips to no avail. Seeing that the eyeless old man seemed to be complaining, Adam shouted again:

—I really don't hear anything. Would you let me through!

The eyeless old man looked to the sides of him, especially to the mushrooms that had some shelves that seemed to be laughing at him. The monk directly next to him laughed so hard that the books on his shelves began to fall to the floor.

Noticing the humiliation, the eyeless old man opened the cave entrance violently, he seemed to be very angry at the situation.

Adam entered the cave and almost ran towards the lake. Upon arrival, he undressed and jumped into the water and lay down. The water began to seep through the pores of Adam's body, relaxing all his muscles and wounds. The young man tired from the long morning closed his eyes and enjoyed the feeling of being healed by magical waters from the cave.

—Can you hear now?—the eyeless old man asked again, he had been doing it for a few minutes while Adam healed.

—Yes, the truth was a great idea to put a healing effect on the water—Adam said, still with his eyes closed enjoying the water.

—Of course, I realized that heroes didn't last long if I didn't cure them—said the eyeless old man with some pride—a pity that he threw those mushrooms away, but the monk told me that there was a double promotion. On wooden floors, it is the first time that the event happens.
