Adam didn't continue digging. He only had the instructions up to this stage. The rest seemed to be the most complicated, so his godfather hadn't told him until now. All of the above could be repeated if it failed, but this is not part.
Taking his role and his godfather's biography from him, Adam wrote: 'I found the wood, what's the important part'
His godfather immediately replied:
'Okay, now pay attention because you can only do this once in your life and only on this particular day.
The instructions are simple: When you get inside, depending on the information you collect, you will be able to find two masks. You have to put on the blue one, and you will get what we are looking for. If you wear the red one, you will not be able to enter the cave of the old man without eyes. So make no mistake.
If you notice something strange, tell me immediately: Before putting on the mask!'
The instructions were long and some parts had complicated words, but Adam already had a very good command of the language, so he was able to read it fluently.
Following the instructions, Adam kept digging around the wooden plank until a trapdoor could be discovered under the sand. Already a little tired from digging so hard, Adam lifted the trapdoor and saw what was inside.
The only thing Adam could see was a fairly old wooden ladder, which made it a bit scary to go down. The surroundings of the ladder seemed to be earth, and at the bottom of the hole a faint light could be distinguished.
Adam gathered his courage and started down the old stairs as the creaking of the wood made his heart race.
After a few minutes, he reached the floor and was able to observe a square room. The walls and floors seemed to be made of earth, and a torch lit the room dimly. In the room there were only two pedestals and nothing else, one of the pedestals had a red wooden mask and the other a blue mask.

Carefully, Adam approached the blue mask, reached out and tried to grab it, but the mask slipped through his fingers like an illusion. Somewhat annoyed, Adam searched the room, trying to find any clues to figure out how to take her.
It was there that the redhead discovered that there was a metal plate in one of the earthen walls. The silver is covered with dirt and dust, so it could not be seen with the naked eye in the room so poorly lit by a torch.
Adam wrapped his robe around his hand and wiped the board clean. Dusting it off, Adam discovered that there was something written on the board in the language of the middle floor. The sentence read:
'Congratulations on having reached the lower domain of my language. Studying is becoming more and more complicated: wars do not stop and only the brave dare to master a language against the heavy hand of the floor manager'
'I know that to be able to read this message you had to drag yourself through hell and commit many atrocities that you regret today, that is why today I invite you to start your life again on another path.'
'With the knowledge you now possess, you have become a true librarian. With this power, you will be able to master the secrets hidden in these books that are meaningless to most of your people. But obtaining this power has brought you many enemies, and that is why today I am giving you my mask so that you can hide your past'
'Be the hero who defends the bitterness of your people, or the villain who masters the secrets of these floors. Be what you want to be. Now you can read: now you are free to be whoever you want in this life'

Finishing reading the sentence, Adam felt a noise coming from the altars, the two masks were now flying over their respective altars.
Adam approached the blue mask and this time he was able to grab it, nothing happened when he took it, so he tried to put it on his face. Then everything went black, and he fainted to the ground.
Adam slowly opened his eyes in a daze, he was standing in the aisle without the cone on his head, staring at the two colored bookshelf in a dazed way.

Outer Sect Disciple
Gongsun Xianyuan, eleven years old, was a genius... or he should have been. Unfortunately when the Cultivator of the Wudang sect came to the village he found out that he had a rare condition that prevented him to cultivate in the arts of the sect. He didn't give up right away but in the end he had to resign himself to the truth. At first he despaired but he soon choose to let his dreams go and begin a new life. This is the tale of an untalented cultivator who had given up in his dreams of glory to live a normal life. How will his future unfold? ------------------------- My native language is neither English nor Chinese, I am writing a Xianxia novel because I like the genre. I have tried to maintain the chinese names and the form of address but I used the measurements of the international system(meters, grams, etc..) and the hour time(no incense stick, or others). It may spoil it for some but I think it would be easier both for me and the readers. Before you read keep in mind that this is a novel with a slow progress. I don't want to give any spoiler but at least a few chapters will be dedicated to his life in the village.

8 283New Paris [a Modern-day LitRPG]
New Paris [OR] I reincarnated into the world of my favorite wuxia novel as an S ranker with unbalanced skills. [Volume 1] - Completed I was one of those people who only stood out in a crowd when their name was called. Then, I died. But instead of heaven, hell, or anything else, I found myself in the body of a young woman whom I did not recognise at first. You see, I had this novel I was obsessed with. The novel was a fairly popular wuxia that got a few sequels, and a handful of spinoffs. One of these spinoffs took place in Paris, where the main cast fought against a multi-millionaire villain. When I woke up after dying, I eventually realised that I was now the third daughter of this multi-millionaire end-game boss in a spin-off of a sequel of my favourite novel. Does this make any sense to you? Because it doesn't to me. But I guess I might as well make the most of it now. Just gotta stay away from some of the more unstable main characters and cut all ties with my 'family' to avoid certain death. [Volume 2] - Currently Airing It had not been a good idea to interfere with the characters of the original novel. Had I known it was going to cause a butterfly effect, I would have stayed in my lane and minded my business. Although, between the suspicious attacks I seem to constantly find myself in the center of, and my 'family' who is the living definition of the expression 'rich pricks', I’m not entirely sure my current predicament would have been avoidable. But maybe it isn't to be avoided; maybe I should embrace this opportunity that has been given to me and become the hero of this story? At least it's certain that I can't do worse than the original protagonist in terms of moral ambiguity; with immortality already in my pocket, and no other useful skills to account for. However, if I were to follow this path, I would have a lot to lose, including an upcoming promotion and my growing relationship with my crush. With power, glory and whatever else on one side, and my wellbeing and happiness on the other, even in this magical wuxia world, the choice is easy to make.
