With great care they finally entered the labyrinth, it seemed that Achilles had found what he came looking for because he stopped his march. Adam was somewhat surprised, the place did not seem to have anything special, and they were still in the middle of the maze, without reaching any apparently important place.
—We're here, look at the wall, do you notice anything?—asked Achilles murmuring, pointing to one of the walls of the labyrinth.
Adam looked at the wall, but it seemed to be the same tree bark, that's when Bianca replied in a low voice, pointing to a corner of the wall:
—There are stickers here!
Adam and Franco looked around the corner and sure enough there were stickers in the shape of animals and people, they were pretty cute and the size of a finger.
—Very well—Achilles murmured.—That's a booklet, they can swim through walls, but when they eat they show their body in three dimensions. Do you know what they eat?
—Books— Franco answered muttering, he remembered seeing these stickers in the bookstore, he didn't know they were a living being.
—No, no—Achilles muttered—They eat the dust off the shelves, that is, they help clean them. They are essential for the shelves because they are used as messengers and cleaners.
—Why do you have to speak softly?—Adam asked, murmuring curiously, they didn't seem very dangerous, they were stickers but alive.
—Because the bookshelves are hysterical—Achilles muttered—In this time of war, booklets do a lot of things, from attracting librarians to helping broker non-aggression pacts; that's why you don't have to disturb them when they rest.
Achilles proceeded to carefully remove the bag from his waist full of dust and dirt, took a handful and threw it on the ground. Then a small dinosaur-shaped booklet slid down the wall and then on the floor until it got under the dust, then slowly started to come out of the ground until it formed a three-dimensional miniature dinosaur that ate dust very calmly.

—Booklets in general don't care about librarians—Achilles muttered. What do you think he did it for?
Bianca raised her hand and murmured:
—To take care of them because they are small, and some bad librarians can hurt them.
Achilles stared at the girl for a while, then looked at the other two, who also seemed to agree with her explanation. The teacher put his hand on her forehead and massaged it for a long time until he remembered that they were only 10 years old and very calmly explained in a low voice:
—No, remember this: 'bookcases never act selflessly.' There is always an ulterior motive, and more so when it involves something as expensive as a climb. In this case, the bookshelf on this floor known as: the baron, created such a spectacular house for the booklets to monopolize the flow of information from all the middle floors, almost all the booklets on those floors came to live here.
The three boys nodded somewhat dazedly. Achilles massaged his forehead again, his super-instinct as a teacher yelling at him that these guys hadn't understood anything and were just nodding for the sake of it. Very calmly, the professor added in a low voice:
—I know they are young; however, they had to go through a complicated period for the shelves, but it was very useful for the librarians. That is why today I am explaining to you how the shelf messaging network works, if you understand it, you could get some benefit and get something useful out of all this. Remember that not only learning languages is successful in life.

RED
Valley City. Up until around twenty years ago, it had been a nowhere place. Just a bunch of towns with no real reputation. Now, though, it's known for its progression in medical science. The Medical Technologies Company. It seemed to suddenly appear out of nowhere in the middle of what's now called City Center. Once just a manufacturer and developer of medical equipment, it eventually started to dabble in medical research. Before anyone even knew it, they were the leading research entities, with five seperate buildings in Valley City alone, all towering above everything else in the area. Some say they even swayed the local government into combining the old towns into one city and popularized prosthetic limbs as fashion themselves, but that's just gossip. Matthew Vega. A 25-year-old college dropout, tricked by MediTech into being experimented on under the pretense of participating in a clinical trial for rent money. After being broken out of their facility nearly a year after having her limbs replaced, then having her liberator captured, she seeks a way to dismantle the company or save the one she cares about. NOTE: Currently I am working on a rewrite. I will post a new chapter once that is ready, listed as V2CH-001. I hope you look forward to it.
