" Don't you find it odd that her affinity are as such?"
Alestar asked the two who after hearing his question had a momentary pause. They each looked on the other, though they did not want to admit it. There was a sense of being too good to be true with this whole ordeal.
What were the odds that they both would have the means to cultivate? It was already a rarity for one person in the entirety of the city and even it was deemed to be blessed.
To make it even more peculiar, May's affinities were above the average. Taf's background was a mystery but hers was out there for the whole world to see.
Seeing the couple contemplating the events, Alestar sat patiently with a slight smile on his face waiting for them to arrive at their conclusion.
" So it was all thanks to you, I think that's the point that you are eluding to. Am I right...?"
Seeing that May had not yet fully come to terms, Taf decided to continue the conversations.
" Think of it as me showing my goodwill"
A casual response was given by Alestar who seemed to always have a smile on his face.
" Thank you..."
May who had been a bit quiet after the topic of her affinity had been brought forth, Thanked Alestar. She was truly grateful, especially when remembering the frantic state she was in before the result was known.
There beside her, a youth held her tightly. At that moment she had wished that they would never be separated. Knowing that she had been granted her wish by him, Alestar was seen in a new light in her eyes.
Taf felt May rubbing his hands and had an idea of what she was thinking. He too would have it no other way than them both having this adventure together.

" Thank you, I appreciate it"
" ...but I've been hearing you speak of tasks, so let's get to the heart of the matter."
" What do you want?"
Having been taught by old man Ming and his own personal experiences. He has always known that there was no such as blessings without strings attached.
" Hehe..., As expected of you child."
Alestar laughed as he saw the child before him being all serious.
" Here is my stance..."
" I want you to reach the heights of your potential and I will facilitate this..."
He went on to say while a glass filled with wine appeared out of thin air.
" What does me reaching my full potential have to do with you?"
Hearing his seemingly vague reply Taf sought to understand his statement.
" Let's put it this way...the stronger you become the more help you will be able to offer me as I make my way back to the world of Gods"
The glass was seen twirling with wine inside as Alestar replied.
" World of Gods huh...Never heard of it "
" Also Aren't you a God.., why would you need me? I haven't even started to cultivate as of yet"
Taf continued to probe for answers as Alestar spoke.
" When the time is right you will know of that place...but You are right somewhat as your scope is limited for the time being."
" You also truly underestimated yourself but once again that boils down to your scope being limited."
Alestar continued to show patience as he dealt with the probing teen. He had lived so long that even he did not bother to remember his age. After his experience, there is not much that could phase him.

" Now I know you are wary.., but to be honest, if you weren't you would have surely disappointed me"
" Though I said I wanted you to help me in the future. We will have to dig out all of your possible potentials"
"Thus i will give you and that young girl May a series of trials. Some which you could say would be deemed impossible to complete"
"...but look who I'm talking to right. The young man that would make the devil himself his footstool."
Alestar teased the pair as he laid out his terms while taking a few sips of his wine.
Taf sat and contemplated a bit before offering a reply.
" To be honest I'm quite excited by what a God deems an impossible task. So you have intrigued me on that point."
" However, other than drawing out my potential and as well as May's, what other benefits are there?"
" You know our personalities, after all, we are motivated more so when benefits are involved"
For the first time since meeting there was a slight smirk on Taf's face. Seeing his swift mode change, Alestar continued to sip on his wine before offering a nonchalant response.
" There will be benefits that would definitely catch your fancy after the completion of each task."
" ...but will the Mouse be successful in each task or trial I wonder"
He chuckled after he spoke which once more brought forth a tinge of caution in the pair.
" Taf.., Are you sure about this..?
May questioned after hearing the terms outlined by Alestar. Normally she would have left it all for Taf to decide, but this was a special case.
These were trials that would be set by a God himself. Surely they should take a moment to think it through a bit. She more than anyone knew his personality as one that wouldn't back down from any challenge.
"Don't worry you know there are a few things I value and two of those things are right here."
" You and this poor little life of mine..."
He smiled while speaking which cause her to chuckle a bit.
" Ok I'll leave the decision to you then, Mr charmer"
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
" If we can't accomplish something then we patiently wait until we are ready"
Hearing the dialogue of the couple Alestar nodded his head in agreement after hearing the last part of Taf's statement.
" I guess I should thank that old man for the guidance he has offered this child. His influence will be quite beneficial in the future."
His mind went back to the scene of Taf with old man Ming.
" So I guess I should at the very Least know my first task right"
Taf turned to Alestar after finishing conversing with May.
" Oh.., it's actually one of the easiest tasks...
....Leave this forest with your puny lives intact"
