《The Gods' Decree》Chapter 60 - Two Options

" We are of the lesser country called Chu"
"Within our country, there are 3 provinces. There is the Teng Province, Fu Province and Meng Province."
"We are from the Fu Province. In the eyes of cultivators, this is a small area, as most cultivator often use flying beast as a means of transport which is of convenience for travel"
"However to mortals such as yourselves who are susceptible to the many dangers in this world, It is vast. Within this our Fu Province there are a few sects that compete for resources."
" The larger sects within this province are our own Dark Abylis Sect, Blue Mountain Sect and lastly Crow Mountain Sect"
" The Blue Mountain and Crow Mountains were once a joint sect within the mountain range but separated due to some internal conflicts"
Hearing her words caused all four eyes to dazzle a bit. It felt like the cloak that was over the world had been lifted by this small introduction.
"Thanks, Nisha for giving us such details and providing enlightenment to this world which we now aim to enter"
To the side of Taf, May dressed in her yellow dress said thanks on behalf of the group.
Hearing her words Nisha had a smile on her face.
" It is but a small matter. I hope this can mend the slight barrier that seemed to have been formed between our parties"
She replied while looking at the youth by May's side. After all, they had not made the best impression initially when his results were known.
Although she could argue that anyone would have reacted in such a manner after witnessing what had happened. Yet they still had given him unwelcoming feeling nonetheless.
After hearing her words Taf nodded before then asking a question of his own in return.
" Nisha previously the Night Lit Moon Sect and your Dark Abylis Sect were in conflict. History stated that you defeated the Night Lit Moon Sect by the use of the black devouring dust"

" Our mortal historical records are not as detailed as yours, so I've always wondered. Was the Night lit Moon Sect completely annihilated?"
"Also how comes your Sect is not in total control of this province with such a weapon at your disposal?"
After Taf posed the topic the other three looked over to Nisha. She was caught by surprise with the question and wryly smiled.
Luke to her side decided to answer Taf's question instead of Niesha.
" I'll take over"
He said while smiling to her as she nodded in agreement.
" The Night lit sect were heavily defeated by us. However, there are still small groups that exist from the Sect. Some migrated to the two neighbouring provinces, while others joined the surrounding Sects"
" In regards to the black devouring dust. Before Niesha stated that there are lesser countries and lording countries. Then you found out that out of the two we were a lesser country."
" Being lesser countries we all are subjected to certain rules and procedures. One of that said rule is that any creation that could be deemed beneficial to the lording country, should follow the proper channels and be reported"
" This was the case for the devouring black dust as it met that standard. The Sect had to relinquish all claims to it 600 years ago. Thus us sharing the role of rulers within the Fu Province."
Taf then nodded once more after his question was answered. He had often search for more records when in mortal city but no other information could be found.
As they went along, the journey became even more of an eye-opener as many things could be seen.
What caught their eyes the most was A forest that had red clouds circling like the forming of a storm. Flying beasts could be seen weaving in and out through the clouds as if it was the norm.

A slight pressure could be felt even by those that were by no means close by. When surveying the forest that had its ominous feeling a behemoth that size could be undetermined was seen, with every step it took the earth seem to shake a bit.
" What is that?"
Damian had slight droplets of sweat as he saw the gigantic beast while seeming to shift a little bit closer to the side of Lisa.
" Weird..., your mouth seems to only work when you're scared..., baldie"
Lisa could not help but say out loud. She was also curious and caught off guard by the scene of the behemoth, but this fellow beside her is the most cowardly person that she has ever seen.
" There....well that's the Red forbidden forest. Rumour has it, that forest is one of the areas with the most concentration of world qi within the entire Chu Country"
" Due to the high concentration of world qi, it is home to the most ferocious beasts within the Chu Country. It is as the name suggested forbidden for most and has seen the death of many in the past."
The red fiery hair Malgrey gave a slight introduction to Red forbidden forest after looking back and seeing those curious gazes.
He remembered when he first saw it and could only smile as this was also his same reaction.
Seeing the sight both May and Taf looked at each other with a bit of excitement. They each could get a sense what the other was thinking.
How could they not when they remembered their heated discussions in the past as kids. Those conversations entailed the wonderful creatures and beings that they might see if they were ever to venture outside of Marvel.
" We aren't in Marvel City anymore Taf"
To his side, Taf saw the smiling May and could only return the smile.
" This is what we have always dreamed about."
" Hmmm..., I told you there would be gigantic beasts, didn't i? "
He smirked after remembering an argument they had at the age of 11.
" Well you had to be right once"
" If you give a blind man ten guesses for the colour of your shirt, wouldn't he eventually get it right?"
May smirked and gestured with her tongue poked out at Taf, who seemingly had an impeccable memory.
As the two spoke a sudden loud screeching sound could be heard from the gigantic white hawk that was merrily on its way before.
Everyone that was on its back was caught off guard by the sudden turn of events. Seeing that something strange had occurred, the five cultivators that were in a relaxed state seemingly in an instant became serious.
Before everyone eyes, a man could be seen apparently standing in mid-air. He had on the garments similar to those that might be worn by merchants on streets.
On his face was a black mask that had swirls of red strips.
Seeing this man that flew in the air the cultivators that had become armed, were now petrified to their core.
This was definitely a being they could not contend with.
While in their petrified state a voice was finally heard from behind the mask.
" I'll keep this simple and sweet. Two options are placed before you."
" Give me what I want and you will be able to smell the freshness of tomorrow's air"
" Or resist and see how quickly maggots begin to gorge on your corpses' flesh"

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. Rage: Crisis / Consequence / ???
Its been ten years since Seth was given his powers, ten years since his town was driven mad by that very same power, and ten years since its source was shunted into his head. A species of energy beings, a people filled with regret for what their entrance onto this world caused. Regret for the deaths that town perpetuated, the devastation they brought, the blow they served to the once proud heroes of this world. Heroes Seth now hopes to join, hopes to heal and atone to for what transpired. But their wounds run deep, their ire sharp, and their acceptance thin. And to top it all off... Seth's power is run far deeper than he knows, and sees his world in a light all its own. This series is my first foray into authoring, with two parts out of at best four if the readership stands. But part three will still book end nicely otherwise. And I'm not stopping till then. It is action heavy with varied and ramping up fight scenes through out. (Book 1 is heavy / Book 2 a little lighter) It is bloody in places, mildly gory in others, and heavily gory in simulated places. Nothing truly horrifying, I think, but be warned. It has trauma. PTSD is a major part of the story, but I will never trust that I got it completely right, so your mileage may vary on how believable or impactful it is. Lastly it has language. Swearing ebbs and flows as the story progresses and attitudes harden or soften. Sometimes bleeding through into the narration... somehow.
