《The Gods' Decree》Chapter 52 - Unfettered

Are my results not satisfactory for The Dark Abylis Sect?"
He smirked as he looked at the team who seemingly were fighting to try and find the words.
" Everyone else got told what their roles within the sect might be except this Mouse"
" That leads this Mouse to think..."
" Am I some unwanted entity that would soil the grounds of your Dark Abylis Sect"
Seeing the way they looked previous he knew that if it were ever a time he fully needed to delve into his alter ego the Mouse. It was would definitely be now.
"Sigh..."
Malfrey knew this was a moment where his word should be chosen wisely. He was not representing himself but the Dark Abylis Sect.
" Your talent is one that has startled us into losing our previous decorum. For that, I apologise wholeheartedly"
"You are one that seemingly understands the world and how it works. Even though you are new to the cultivation world, I'm sure by our reaction you have discerned that what has taken place today is an anomaly"
" Being as such we are incapable of fully making a decision on behalf of the sect. Also as it stands we are unable to connect to someone that could take a stance on the matter"
There were no changes in the Mouse's facial expression as he heard the words that Malgrey had offered. He had expected as such before he even brought forth his questioning.
" So what do you suggest we do...Mr?"
" I'm sorry I was not given a name"
Malgrey was caught off guard as he heard the Mouse's words.
" This child really is decisive, isn't he?
" The first time he asked me a question he was so humble and even called me senior. "
" However now as he speaks it seems I'm talking to a totally different person."
" Clearly he is drawing a line based on the response of our sect"
The other members also saw the changes in the Mouse's attitude towards them. The atmosphere had become awkward between the two parties.
They saw the Mouse and May seemingly conversing quietly within the centre of the stage.
After their apparently small conversation, the two stopped to look towards their direction.
It was no longer the Mouse that took the lead conversing but to his side the girl dressed in yellow and white.
" It's quite simple really...."
"We are a team of sorts, to put it frankly, where ever he goes, well... I go"
" We come as a pair you could say. Buy one get, one free."

" But sadly this sale will not last for long. So please to make your purchases while you can"
" After all it is a seller's market but call us soft-hearted souls as we like to be fair to you the first takers."
"Taf how many buyers do you think are out there that will go leaps and bounds beyond the market price I wonder?"
They all looked on May as she uttered her statement seemingly uncaring of her manner of speech as she spoke.
Hearing her claim the five knew that they were between a rock and a hard place. It was not just the abomination that they had found.
There was also May, though her talent was by far inferior to his. To their small Sect, it was the peak.
If they were to let go of such talent they knew the would be harshly punished.
Also, who knew what the sect ideas would be of the abomination. Do they dare to neglect such a being?
" I'm guessing we would be a hot commodity at the moment...
So an endless amount would be an understatement"
" Hmmm, let's make it easier a bit for our cultivator friends to decide, after all, they came all this way to our pitiful city. How could we let them leave without a prize"
The Mouse then looked to Malgrey after his statement.
" How about this. Since you're not in a position to decide for the sect on what to do. We will both go along and talk to someone within that said position. "
" That way all parties are satisfied...right"
" I think that's called meeting the other half and half"
They both had smirks on their faces as their little play acting continued.
The five looked at the pair with total bewilderment. Lovren fumed under his breathe as he saw the two finishing each other's sentences before them.
They didn't even start to cultivate as of yet but had the gall to act in this manner.
" Calm down...."
He heard a voice and when he looked beside him it was Niesha.
Seeing the look she gave, he knew it was best not to say anything to the pair at the moment.
" That seems only reasonable..."
" We'll do as you suggest"
After thinking over the words of the pair Malgrey really had to admit he didn't really have a choice in the matter.
" Tomorrow at dawn we will head for the Sect. That will give you enough time to say goodbye to your loved ones"

He continued on to say while the couple had their sights on him.
" Since we are both reasonable people, we will once more meet you halfway"
" This has all happen suddenly and though we are willing to go to your Sect. It would not be fair to our loved ones in the city to abandon them so suddenly ."
"How about giving us two days in which to say our goodbyes. Then we will be on our way. Sounds reasonable huh Taf."
May smiled as she looked to the Mouse that stood beside her.
" It indeed is reasonable big flower. We'll do as such"
They said their bit deciding on the outcome before Malgrey could offer a counter.
" Sigh ..., we'll do as you both have said"
Malgrey knew he had no choice but to agree.
" See May that's what I like to see after a discussion, both parties benefiting mutually"
.....
After the date was set for the four to join the team they all made their way off to different parts of the city.
The team however still stood on the stage looking into the distance at the couple that were on their way.
" When since can we be bullied like this by such weaklings. Sure they have exceptional talent but they have not even entered the road to fulfilling such talent as of yet"
The rage that had been bottled up came forth as Lovren eyed the pair.
" Sigh...?"
" They actually played the cards dealt to them perfectly"
Luke who had his green hair in a mess could not help but say.
" Using our awe previously shown for the girl then our fear for his talent against us"
A smile could not help but be shown on the side of Malfrey.
" Who knows maybe this Phoenix might actually be a blessing."
.....
The streets were still abuzz with the arrival of the cultivators.
" Did you hear the news...?
" Four were found with the means to cultivate from the city"
An excited lady who seemed in her mid-20s conversed with a seller of fruits outside a market stand.
" They say it is the first time that such a thing has occurred within this our city."
Conversations like these played out all over the city as the news had spread rampantly.
" Those four's futures have been changed forever"
"Hehe.., It is good though as this means we have four that are going to be out there looking out for our city"
They all were excited as if it was an achievement of their own.
While the excitement continued through the street two out of the four mentioned that were the toast of the city walked side by side.
" Taf I'm getting the feeling that this Dark Abylis Sect is not that strong."
May stated after seeming to be in deep thoughts.
" Yes they do seem weak indeed."
" When I had interrogated Anonymous y corpse number one, he did give me the vague impression that there were different tiers of sects"
"I'm guessing this is one at the weaker level"
Taf responded after hearing May's analysis.
" If so why did you insist we force them into making us join them?"
"With your talent as well as mine, we really could join one with far better status"
The question was then posed by May who apparently was curious as to his thought process.
" As it stands we have all the potential and do not know as of yet how to reach it."
" Just randomly going on our way out not knowing what is what, who is who might not be that wise"
We will use this Sect as a means to understand this cultivation world better"
" Once we get a grasp of the situation and the road ahead seems clearer. We will then simply leave if needs see fit."
" After all would they dare try to hold us back"
" The fear in their eyes told me the whole story. This Dark Abylis Sect will be the first place that we will find our footing."
" The weaker they are the better in my opinion"
" They will act as the light that leads us on our path."
Taf smirked as he thought everything through.
" To be honest I don't like the idea of a Sect as it is one normally filled with restriction"
" I like to be unfettered and I know you are the same"
"however we will make do with what we are given at the moment."
After hearing his responded May also agreed with his idea and continued by saying.
" So this is where our journey begins huh"
She held his hand as she giggled.
" To the peak hand in hand"
The pledge was uttered softly by May as Taf grasped those soft hands of her firmly.
" As we gaze into the stars and space"

Death and rebirth, Rising from the ashes, he vowed. This time i will live to the fullest ! Rated Mature for Blood scenes & possibilities of : slight gore ( 14+). TWG is mostly a light, slice of life read with tints of emotional touches. The story will be easy going and it will lack suspense & battles, since the mc is very OP for a long time. The Harem tag, I can assure you it won't pass 3. This is a Xuanhuan [ Eastern Fantasy ] with a slight deviation to the Xianxia [ Immortal Hero ] genre. It however, breaks away from ordinary Xianxia/Huan tropes with the Mc's strength being over the top since the start. Also, I must warn you that I would never include an R18 scene.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
