《The Gods' Decree》A Cough

" I really should stay away from that mixed drink we make after hours in the restaurant"
" I'm starting to hallucinate at night as if I'm high"
" Dragons, harpies and bloody 5 tails tiger"
" If It wasn't me but anyone else, I would tell them to stop anything they are smoking as that crap is messing them up "
" What will I see next, a floating cow with a pole, strip teasing?"
Taf looked around his room in the attic as his sleepy eyes were no more.
" That voice though, what did it mean by see you soon"
" I can explain the vision by assuming it is a dream but I had clearly woken up when I heard that voice"
" It was definitely real"
" Could someone really be watching me? If so who could it be and why me?"
" I don't like this feeling of being pried upon by others"
A restless night followed as Taf tried to make heads or tails of the events. Soon before he knew it the darkness from outside seemed have lightened somewhat.
....
He went down in the restaurant where he saw old man Ming with a worker getting ready for the day.
When old man Ming saw the youth he laughed and went towards him.
Patting him on the shoulder as he looked.
" Haha.., seems someone had anxiety filled the night. Looking forward to the test are we this afternoon?"
" Don't worry kiddo it's a no lose situation. So what if you can't cultivate? Your life would still have meaning as before."
" Look at this mortal before you who exudes the exemplary stature of the greatness a man can have. Am I of less value than someone that can fly in your eyes?"

He smiled as he patted the kid's shoulder who laughed as he spoke.
" The worth of a man is not by how strong or powerful he is but by the happiest and love he bestows to those he cherishes."
" Your value will not change in my eyes no matter the result"
He cared for this child like his own son, how could he not draw him aside to have a chat.
" I know old man Ming this is but a minor thing of my path. My resolve would not change no matter result."
Soon he made sure to get something to eat so he was as healthy as could be at the moment.
...
A couple minute later he was out the door and for the first time in the day time two hammers could be seen on his back.
He knew once he showed for the testing his secret would be exposed as the Mouse. So why hide then?
His philosophy has always been one that whatever should be, would be. As he walked he saw an abundant of teens from varied ages scampering in groups or with their loved ones.
.....
Soon he arrived at a small house with flowers varying in colours, shapes and size. It brought a sense of calm to what would be a usual quick paced city.
At the entrance, he saw a girl in a white and gold dress. Not a hair was out of place as she exuded beautiful innocence.
" Cat got your tongue Mr Charmer?"
She giggled as she saw the youth before her.
" Actually, was just wondering if you don't fear the bees dressed in that bright yellow. They might mistake you for a big flower"
A comment was heard from Taf as the smug look was all over May's face.

"Hmmm, seems you miss my fingers. Let's see, should I lend you a ...hand"
She ran through the gate at him. Seeing her intentions he quickly replied.
" I meant they would be drawn to how sweet you look. Just as I am, my feet are telling me to walk but my heart is saying stay. That way my eyes can feast longer on the angelic Grace or is it, May Grace"
He smiled as he saw a flush spreading all over her face.
" Why do you always get to say the sweet words Mr Charmer. I won't let you win in that either you brute."
She held his hands tightly and smiled as she looked at him.
" Hehe, are my eyes deceiving me or are the two lovebirds finally confessing their love"
An old voice was heard and when they looked they saw an elder woman smiling at them as if watching a great play.
It was senior Grace waving out the window as she saw a blush fill her granddaughter face never seen before.
" Grandma we were just leaving"
May grabbed Taf's hand and dragged him as they left in a hurry.
Senior Grace laughed as she saw the scene.
" Sigh young love"
.....
In the City's capital, the street was filled with teenager from all over as they loudly conversed.
" My grandfather once said his great grandfather' grandfather' great grandfather once had relatives that were cultivators"
A robust teen swaggered as he boasted to the swarm of hopeful teenagers around.
" Psssh.., that's nothing, my great grandfather once served a cultivator. He was once rewarded with a fruit. When he ate it he lived until he was 130. "
" Before he died it was rumoured that he foresaw someone in his bloodline cultivating. There has been no one so far so odds are it is me."
A girl with blonde hair bragged as she saw the faces of awe around.
One after the other claims were made by the group of teens as they waiting for the beginning of the assessment.
Taf and May seemed oblivious to talking as they teased and laughed with each other.
The once boisterous teens were all of a sudden quiet. if one looked over they would see a group of persons had approached them with viper tattoos, It was the Viper gang.
Knives were seen as they indicated with a finger over their lips for the victims to not draw attention to their acts.
" Eh em,"
a cough was heard by the victims and the Viper gang members who had small knives.
When they looked over they saw a boy with brown dreads resting against the walls with his feet and two hammers against the walls. Beside him was a girl smiling as she held his hands.
As if seeing the devil himself the members shivered in fear. Two had even pee showing on their pants as they saw the sight of the youth.
They fell to the floor and bowed three times to the youth who rested against the wall. This caused a scene as the once loud crowd became curious.
Not caring for a scene Taf waved them along before they could say his name.
All eyes looked to the youth with curiosity.
" It is now noon. As per the agreement of the Dark Abylis Sect and Marvel City, those deemed to have the means to cultivate will be given the opportunity to go the sect."
"let the test begin"

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

That's why I didn't edited the first few chapters because they remind me of tge promise that i made. Some of them told me too post it here. So here it is.
