《The Gods' Decree》City Lord Marvel's glee

The table was emptied without any scraps remaining of what was a delight for the food lovers eyes.
Seeing that all the food had been eaten, a few servants came to take up the plates and pans that were once filled to the brim.
" Now that we part took in that sumptuous meal, City Lord Marvel let's get to the matter at hand"
" The city is flourishing as usual due to the sect influence. We have been informed of the problem of bandits at your city borders."
"However under the stipulation of the agreed terms, the Sect would only become involved when the city is in danger from those who cultivate."
" These bandits were found to be mortals and seeing that they were such, it is deemed the problem of your city"
Malgrey went directly into the heart of the business by outlining some matters.
" Since it is as such, we will hardly the problem on our own accord team leader. There was an incident that was not reported in time, however"
City Lord Marvel interjected after hearing the refusal of the sect involvement in eradicating the bandits.
" Please to enlighten us City Lord and if my team can resolve the issue, we will indeed do just that"
A hint of curiosity was shown on the faces on the nearby cultivators who were itching for a fight.
" Recently there was a case of a cultivator invading our city and forcibly having some of our citizens ingesting pills for his experiments. He even killed a respectable personnel within our city"
The City Lord went on to disclose to the best of his ability.
" Hmmm, it seems that some idiot is tired of living. Give us his details and where he was last scene. The sect will take care of the problem."

Lovren drew for his sabre as a hint of joy became apparent on his face. He thought this would be a dull mission. Who knew that they would find such a result.
" The problem has already been taken care of by someone"
As soon as he was in high spirits a bucket of cold water was poured over him with the words of the city Lord.
" Another member of the sect intervened before we could?"
Nisha could not help but ask after hearing of such matter. They were already getting the crappy missions and even then someone stole from them.
" It was one our own citizens that killed him"
A proud response was uttered by City Lord Marvel and those surrounding him smiled at the words. How could he not be proud of such an accomplishment by one of their own?
He saw the looks that they were given on a continuous basis by these same cultivators of the Dark Abylis Sect. They deemed their contribution valuable over the centuries, but how could his predecessors and now him not have seen there scorn.
Given the opportunity to show them the finger in the most polite of ways was a can't miss situation. Just like centuries ago they are still capable of extraordinary things.
" one of your own. Are you saying a mortal lives in this city that killed a cultivator? How ridiculous"
Scorn was heard from Lovren after listening to the city Lord. The other member of his team although had no outburst were thinking the same.
" Describe this cultivator for us so we can get a better understanding"
Malgrey the fiery-haired leader asked as he tried getting a better grasp of the situation.
" He wore all black and it is said that he could lower the temperature around him to freezing cold for us mortal"

A description was given by the city Lord at Malfrey's request.
" Hmmm.., being able to control partial elements around him to freezing temperature for mortals. He must have been a 6-7 stage qi condensation cultivator. One who would walk the path of elements."
" His talent must have been quite subpar to go further on the road of cultivation, thus he resorted to refining mortals into pills to make up for the deficit. He would need thousands for such a feet"
Luke who had remained silent came forth with details of the cultivator talked about.
" Who killed him?"
A question was posed by Nisha who became more curious as the story unfolded.
Seeing the looks on there faces City Lord Marvel saw his desired results come to fruition. There was no more scorn hidden on their faces as before.
" A youth we only know by the Alias Mouse, he is as 14"
As the words left his mouth he saw the look of disbelief painted on their faces.
"You're saying a 14-year-old mortal killed a fully grown cultivator at the 6-7 stage of qi condensation"
" Do we look like idiots old man"
Lovren fumed as the table before his collapse after hearing what was disclosed by City Lord Marvel. If this was true this kid would have accomplished something that was impossible for him at the same age.
Four years ago he was only at the early stages of qi condensation and was a punching bag for those in the middle stage.
Now he is hearing that a kid at that said age defeated such a foe he could have only dreamed of doing. To make matters worse he is a puny mortal.
" Whether you are an idiot or not is not my place to disclose. However, what I say is the truth"
A smug response was heard from the city Lord that acted as another dagger to Lovren.
" Lovren calm the hell down and stop embarrassing the sect. The next time you make an outburst I won't mind inflicting some punishment"
" City Lord the table will be taken care of. However, please to speak more of this Mouse and how he defeated that said cultivator"
Malgrey acting as a leader hurried to ease tension. Sure they were more powerful than the figures before them, but if word were to get out of disrespect of a certain nature.
There would be definite punishment from the sect to all the members involved.
Hearing the apologies of Malgrey the city Lord smiled then went into details of the mouse.
" So he used the old version of the devouring black dust. Interesting to be caused by a cultivator that would have normal men trembling and kissing their pants ."
To have gotten hold of the dust and then to scheme and bamboozle someone who could crush him with a thought"
" With that mindset power is but a small external factor that crumbles in ideal situations. Not many can be said to have that clear-mindedness. "
As Malgrey spoke he looked at Lovren who swiftly looked away. He hated this Mouse before even meeting him.
" It would be a pity if he can't cultivate. I'm looking forward to the test tomorrow"
A remark was heard from the blonde hair teen while a smile could be seen on his face.
