" It's you isn't it?"

He looked in confusion after hearing her words.

" I haven't seen you in over a week May. So anything that was done was not by me"

A reply was uttered as he thought about the question asked.

" Don't play dumb with me"

" You may be able to fool others but I know you"

A stern face was shown as she looked back at the youth who seemed genuinely confused.

" Sigh..., did the doctors ask you to test some medication and say there might be side effects"

" Please note to tick the box marked dazed and confused as I have not a clue what you are on about"

She looked at him as it finally dawned on her that she was indeed vague with her words.

" You are that guy that is the talk of the town, aren't you?"

" The one they call the Mouse"

A chuckle was heard as she saw the change in his face after the words were uttered.

" How can you be sure it is me"

A prompt response followed but in his head, he sighed while awaiting her reply.

" There are many within the city that share similar traits to your appearance. However, there are none who could be so impeccable when it came to banter"

She smiled as she found she had finally had the upper hand to the youth before her.

" Well, it's not like it was the secret of the decade, as I never really kept it as so. Did I?"

A calm response was heard from Taf as he saw her acting as if she was the victor in some great bout.

They looked on each other for a few moments before the silence was broken.

" Will you walk with me to the park?"

Taf was caught off guard by the question. Where was the witty remark that he thought would hit him when he least expected?

" The park.... sure I can"

" Is there an event happening there that I'm not aware of"

He asked as he made sure to put away the broom that he was previously using.

" There is no event happening, it's just a place I like to go on beautiful mornings such as this"

She replied as the cool morning breeze blew by her hair causing a hand to move them behind her ear.

" It's my place of bliss so I thought you might like as well"

Hearing her reply he looked at May with a bit of confusion but did not utter a word.

A boy and girl could be seen walking side by side in the street as they made their way to the park.

....

Entering the park, a slight breeze rustles the leaves making them fall to the solid ground one by one. The air was warm a perfect fit for the beams of sunlight that glowed on.

Flowers were vast, as they conceal the lush green grass that had small animals running all through its dewy freshness.

Little critters could be seen moving on the leaves and tunnelling through the tree branches as they hurried along.

There they sat on a chair as both looked on the quiet scenery before them.

" Why did you invite me here?"

Taf looked on the girl beside him that had a tinge of charm as the rays of the morning sun graced her cheek.

" Do you not like it?"

She looked on with a smile as the question was asked.

" Yeah, I do actually. There is a sense of serene charm that is normally absent from the city that this park provides. You still haven't answered the question though"

He interjected once more as he saw a small cat scratching a post.

" This is my little world. A part of my life that I did not disclose to you. Here I am at my happiest with the beauty of nature on display. I wanted to share it with you"

She looked on Taf with a smile on her face that showed her small dimples.

" When I found out that you were the Mouse that everyone was talking about, I was upset and didn't know why.

I realize I thought I had you all figured out but there is a world you had that I wasn't aware of"

" So I thought I would tell you about my world and you could tell me about yours"

Taf listens as May spoke of her thoughts without interrupting her at any point. After a few moments, he finally decided to speak.

" That world is not one to be proud of however as it is filled with danger. How could I disclose it to those that could be in harm's way if caught in the crossfire?

He suddenly saw a disappointing look replace the once beautiful dimples that were on showcase.

" I just want to know"

She replied with a slight whisper

" Why"

He gently replied as for the first time in a long while for some strange reason he felt nailed to the spot.

" It's simple, you have always intrigued me "

A blush could be seen as she tried to look away.

" I intrigue you huh"

A smile could be seen growing at the side of his face as he smugly looked at the girl to his side.

" What are you smiling about you brute"

" There is nothing to be smug about"

The blush became even more apparent the more she tried to hide it.

" I thought you hated me but now I find out I was ' Intriguing ' all along"

He had a smug look as he saw the girl before him in complete embarrassment.

" You can hate someone and be intrigued at the same point dumbo"

"Besides I never said I hated you anyway"

The old May seemed to have snapped back in as she lashed out with her usual banter.

" There she is the May I know"

He bounced his shoulder against hers causing her to look him in his eyes.

"Besides you have always 'intrigued' me too"

She blushed as she heard his reply but oddly they both remain quiet sitting on that chair looking at the birds chirping.
