《The Gods' Decree》Anonymous corpse number one

BOOOM!!!!!!
The doors were turned into splinters as broken wood flew from the entrance of the factory. A man dress in all black made his way through the now empty space where the doors use to be.
He looked straight ahead to see a youth with his back rested and his dreads covering his closed eyes.
" Are you that rat I seek? The one who dares to utter mockery when hearing of my presence?"
A wicked smile became evident as he looked at the youth before him.
The Mouse opened his eyes slowly to see his now present visitor.
" I prefer to be called Mouse if you don't mind, and I tend to play better when a Sir is before it"
He looked on with a sense of comfort as a smirk could be seen. While presenting himself like a king looking at a commoner.
" I guess it's true what they say ' a newborn calf does really not know the true haunting presence of a lion' "
A chilling air seemed to have taken over the factory and the elder took slow steps towards the youth.
" This calf does not like talking to people of unknown origins. How about a proper greeting huh?"
The Mouse laughed as he looked at the seemingly serious elder in black. If looks could kill he would be a dead man for sure.
" What use is it to give my name to the dead. Does a corpse have a need for such things? Are you planning to give the devil my name, in exchange for a breath of fresh air from the burning inferno?"
A laugh was heard through the factory as the elder spoke without a care for the youth who had finally stood.
" Funny..., I could say the same but seeing that you already knew my name. I thought it only be fair for you to let your killer know the name of his victim"

" Or do you want to be known as Anonymous corpse number one in my records?"
" Guess I'm a stickler for correct records huh"
A smirk grew on the Mouse's face as he saw a vein forming on the forehead of the elder in black.
In his mind, the elder fumed in rage. Before refining this youth into a pill to help him achieve that elusive realm. He would inflict such pain that a bath in lava would be but a blessing.
How could a lowly insignificant mortal dare talk to him like this? Even worse it is an orphan from the streets in a mortal city. If others were to know of this, he would be nothing but a disgrace if he were to return.
" Good....good, you have only ensured the most agonizing of death humanly possible you little fuck"
" Die in joy though as it is at least by these hands you see your death, one that is more than worthy of your life"
He then walked with his hands behind his back in an easy manner while the ground started to feel colder with each step. Then ice particles could be seen covering the surface of the nearby walls.
The temperature continued to drop and the mouse began feeling the effects and started to shiver.
" So this is the power of someone that cultivates. He is somehow controlling the particles in the air"
For the first time, Mouse had a serious look on his face when he looked at the man making his way over.
" Do you see now why in my eyes you're deemed as nothing but insignificant?"
" If I command it, you would be frozen into an ice sculpture. How can a mere ant pose a threat to a soaring dragon"

Mouse continued to shiver as he listened to this the elder speak.
" So this is your world qi I am guessing?"
He then asked to the surprise of the elder in black.
"How... How do you know about world qi?"
The elder asked as he was taken off guard by the question.
" Guessing I am right by your reply"
" Do you know the history of this city you are currently visiting, anonymous corpse number one?"
Mouse asked the no longer aloof senior as he still shivered from the cold that had now surrounded him.
" Who cares about the insignificant history of this city? It is filled with mortals that are of no use to us cultivators. Your only purpose in life is to be in service of us the ones with power.
A response was heard as the temperature once more fell to a new low.
" Actually you should be the one that cares as that lack of your knowledge has done nothing but ensure your imminent demise"
Suddenly the elder felt something climbing and attaching itself to his feet that were black as oil and seemingly growing as it climbed.
" Wh.....what the fuck is this thing?"
He screamed as he saw the scene playing out in front of him. This was the first time he had ever seen this organism.
" This is why you should know the history of the place you try to reign over. This city 600 years ago played a pivotal part in the battle of two greats, The Dark Abylis sect and The Night lit Moon Sect"
A look of dread filled the face of the elder as a realisation finally dawn on him.
" Th....the devouring black dust"
He forced the words out as for the first time he looked on a mortal in fear and despair during his lifetime.
" So you do know some history after all. During that great battle, the Dark Abylis Sect found themselves on the losing end through most of the war"
" Seeing that they were losing they sought for a means to turn the tide. Their prayers were answered when a young inventor from within the sect had an ingenious idea."
" Being in dire strains the Sect had no other choice but to try the plans of this genius young man. However, they had a problem with how the plans could be seen through to fruition"
" The genius plan was a concoction that would see the utter destruction of the nearby cultivators. So they had to come up with a method that could rectify this default in process"
The place became slightly warmer as the black organism begun to spread over the Elder's body that turned pale in dismay.
"This is the beginning of the tale of why this city of seemingly insignificant mortals was given the name Marvel City"

Maker of Fire
On a world where magic kept civilization firmly in the bronze age, the Gods dropped an accountant and a mining engineer to start a political and industrial revolution. They wanted enlightened governance and a fast track to the iron age. They got indoor plumbing, paper airplanes, a cranky queen, and one very grumpy prophet. Dramatis Personae Aylem was a bookkeeping student when she died. The Gods reincarnated her as the greatest mage ever known, born into the ruling class of gigantic, magic-wielding humans. The Gods expect her to conquer the world and introduce double-entry accounting. Though Queen and numerical reformer, world conquest is stalled because everyone is scared of her and she doesn't like war. Emily was a retired engineer when she died. The Gods reincarnated her as one of the enslaved class of small, magicless humans. The Gods expect her to drag the world out of the bronze age. Though she's already recreated matches and wrought iron, introducing technology isn't going well because she was born a slave (oops) and having escaped, wants nothing to do with so-called "civilization." Asgotl was a whale when he died. The Gods reincarnated him as a griffin and expect him to have the same role he played in his previous life: to keep a reluctant prophet from walking off the job. If only they had remembered to tell him about it. Revised update schedule will be once a week on Saturdays, noonish Mountain Time (in North America)
