《The Gods' Decree》Case of Mental Defect

They all looked on in amazement at the sudden turn of events.
" How on earth did he explode?"
A member of the gang looked on in fear at the bloody mess on the ground, that unfortunately use to be their boss Bishop.
" I've Never heard of someone exploding from taking a pill before. What the hell could be in those pills for such a result to take place?"
Questions rang around as puzzled and fearful faces were plaguing the scene.
" He must have eaten a damn bomb for such a result"
" Who in their right mind would injest should a thing for a meagre burst of power. The end definitely does not justify the means"
A consensus was reached as the members discussed among themselves.
Even those that only a few minutes ago were howling on the ground in agony, seemed to have found the remedy to their pain. After all, they still had life, which was far better than Bishop's unfortunate state.
" I think those pills have some side effect on the psyche. I've never seen the boss act in such an irrational and cruel manner as before"
" Those things are nothing but poison if you ask me "
They all chimed in as the discussion raged on. However, on the ground, there was one member that seems to have lost her very soul.
It was Gomorra, her mental state had apparently collapsed as she tried piecing together whatever she could find of him.
" I'll make it all better love. Don't worry, come back to me and we'll do just as we promised each other"
" Remember until we are old and grey...right"
Tears ran down her face as the words left her mouth while her knees rested against the floor.

....
" Sigh, the choices you make will decide your fate in the end. As much as I would want to pity them, if it were my death there would be no tears on their part, on the contrary, there would be songs of joy"
Tafari thought as he watched on the side as the group were in a grief-stricken state.
" I would love to allow some grieving time but as things would have it, I can't. Information is of utmost importance to me right now"
" Therefore you shorty will provide some missing pieces to this puzzle"
He appears in front of a man that had joined in the discussion. Before shorty could put up a struggle, he was stamped to the ground by a foot in his back.
" Now tell me about this strange elder, his interest in me and all about these pills. Especially the red ones, before I tenderize your limbs into jelly with my hammers".
Shorty having witness first hand the act of this fiend started to disclose as much as he possibly knew.
He spoke of how the gym leader met his unfortunate demise after being seen as incompetent by the leader.
Information was also given about the take over of the different organizations and gangs within the city by this mysterious elder.
He went on to talk of rumours which stated that this stranger is a cultivator and extremely powerful. Detailing of how he enticed those thoughts to have talent with pills like the ones bishop had.
Lastly, how the senior has stated that the mouse should be brought back to him alive and the huge reward is given for his capture. Seeing the mouse as one that had the emmence talent for mortal beings.
...
Taf left the shorty to be after ensuring what was stated is true.

He then tried comprehending what was just disclosed.
" So things have changed somewhat I see"
" This feeling of having someone preying on me puts me in a stated of unease"
" It comes across as being a bit outlandish though in nature the more I think of it"
" If it was before I read that journal I would probably be shaking in my boots, but it is quite odd that a cultivator would resort to such things"
" In the journal, just from the way Carlos spoke to Duo Fang, it is quite clear mortals are lower than ants in their eyes and world"
" Why then would this so-called cultivator ask for help from the mere food of ants?"
" I have some speculations but I wonder if my theories are accurate?"
" To be more conclusive I need to test this theory somewhat, but by doing this I might need to go off character a bit for the best results"
Thoughts and scenarios played off in his head as he sought the necessary answers to the questions plaguing his mind.
....
" It's all your fault. You made him resort to taking those pills you damn bastard"
Gomorra screamed as if finally jolted back to reality.
Hearing her screams Taf was taken aback and driven out of his thoughtful state. He looked on the now maddening Gomorra while shaking his head.
" Listen due to the Fact that you just lost your man, I will not inflict any more damages to an already open wound"
" Your man succumbed to his own fate. He knew the risk and he took them. So I'll only say this once, begone"
Gomorra wished nothing but to tear him apart but she knew he was somewhat right. She held back with all her will power knowing if she faced him to the death, there would only be one outcome for her.
He then went on to the business at hand and collected the tax accrued by the viper gang as he swept away the injured members loot.
Sure it was a sad occasion and the people needed to grief. However business is business, right?
There can be grieve after, was how he had justified it.
Seeing the hate in all their eyes, he stored away the loot and readied himself for his final task, a very simple message.
" Ok listen up loud and clear all of you as I want you to deliver a message for me without missing a word"
" Tell this elder I am not one that likes to be played by others"
"I may seem to be a small insignificant stone stuck in the dirt and unremarkable in nature, but rest assured he will discover that I am the tip of an indestructible rock"
" Make sure not to disturb this rock that is unperturbed or else he will feel my vengeance"
" My alias might be the mouse and he might see himself as a hawk, but I am the hunter in this game, not the prey. Others might fear him but not this mouse."
The members were in a state of shock as they heard the words uttered by the mouse.
" Does this guy not fear death to dare challenge a cultivator, this is ludicrous"
" This child mouse is definitely one that was dropped on his head by his mother countless times as a baby"
" There is no other explanation"
" Yeah..... he definitely is mentally defective"

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.
