《Uzziye became a florist》Chapter 32 - The truth

I spent an entire day trying to get that thing out of my body. But I couldn’t reach it.
I got so scared I even thought that I actually died and the worm made another body for me, but now that thing will control it. Or maybe what was left of me was that thing, and if I pull it out, I’ll die!
After slapping myself with all my strength, I regain my composure. There’s only one thing I should focus on, Cara.
First things first, I need to know where I am. And I need to remember everything.
When my stomach grumbles, I change my priorities.
Let's find food.
I got nothing apart from a plant. And if I was terrible at getting food before, imagine how hard it’s now that I’m almost blind. I walk, covering my eyes with my hands to avoid receiving direct light. Thankfully, the night is here.
I notice a pretty spot to rest. I clean it a bit and sit to eat the plant. I also continue remembering.
Cara and I escaped from the monsters. Another two girls joined us in the forest. We were doing a great job finding food and taking care of each other, but we had a terrible encounter. A woman found us and took us to her carriage. Another trap and another abyss. Deep in the forest, there was a magnificent building, the home of true monsters. Just like in the orphanage, we were mere toys.
That place was an arena, and we had to fight to the death. Soon the other two girls were dead, and the guards raped us each night.
I get an awful premonition about this.
I stand up and run to nowhere, hoping somehow I’ll find Cara. I run all night.
The next day I’m so tired I hide in a cave and sleep.

I see the same girl from my dream back in prison, standing in front of me. She’s covered in blood, showing me a wide smile. I get closer to her, and she stabs me. There’s no pain. I hug the girl, but she transforms into a dark goo and envelops me.
Now I’m with Cara. She’s hugging me and telling me everything is okay. The people that captured us come for us, making us dress in embarrassing clothes and taking us to the arena.
I gaze around and watch other kids kneeling in front of adults, giving them sexual pleasure. There are boys with men and girls with women, though most are girls with men. The adults are dressed in expensive clothes and enjoy the many plates filled with the best food. All of them have their faces covered, but I can notice the malice in their eyes.
When we reach the center of the arena, a showman appears. He throws wooden clubs at us, then he announces the event to take place. We’ll have to fight to the death against ten boys that will rape us and dismember us. For each boy we kill, a wolf will come out and attack people at random.
I’m shaking while holding Cara’s hand. I also pee myself. When the boys enter, I’m paralyzed. Cara talks to me, but I can’t hear her.
Then Cara does the unimaginable; she drops her club and interrupts the showman.
“None of us need to obey those pigs! If none of us fights, they won’t get anything from us! I don’t care about who you are; you pigs won’t control me!!!”
“Kill that bitch right now!”
Chaos arises. The showman hurries the boys to kill Cara while the adults stand from their seats and kick or push the kids glued to their genitals. They stop the showman and the boys.

One of them, their leader, approaches the balcony and looks at us.
“Now that you dare to defy us, you two will suffer for the rest of your life! We’ll take out your eyes, destroy your ears, cut your tongue, cut your arms and legs, have you raped all day, you’ll live like a toilet, you’ll breed animals and monsters, and we’ll slowly pull your brain out!”
“So what?! I’ll never become a toy for pigs like you! You’re monsters!!!”
I feel like I’ll faint any moment. My trembling doesn’t stop, and I’m dizzy.
“You, little girl. We will spare you and let you free if you kill your friend.”
I look at him and then look at Cara.
“Come on. We swear we’ll set you free, right?”
“‘Yes.’”
I stare at Cara again and see her despair.
“They’re lying. Drop the club. If we unite, we’ll defeat them. Do you want to go back to living like a toy?”
“We’re busy; if you want to live, kill her now!”
The showman tells the boys not to kill us. They approach slowly.
“Uzziye. Think about what you’ll teach everyone if you do what they say. Please believe in me! We’ll have our chance!”
Driven by my fear and the hope of finally ending this nightmare, I raise my club and hit Cara. She doesn’t protect herself; she only stares at me in disbelief.
“‘Ahahaha.’”
I look up and see all the adults laughing at us. Some of them get angry at kids who stared defiantly at them and throw them to their deaths.
I try to approach and protect Cara, but it’s too late; the boys surround me and beat me. I can only see how they rape Cara, who is unconscious.
Many adults went into the arena with weapons, from wolves to shiny swords to metal sticks with spikes.
They rape me and break my bones, but I don’t care. I stretch my hand towards Cara and call out to her.
“Hey, wake up!”
They hit Cara, but she doesn’t react. Many of them try until one of them laughs.
“She’s dead! Ahaha. All that talk and she couldn’t take a single hit from that skinny kid!”
I stop hearing their mockery. My mind is stuck on the word dead. I can’t believe it. I don’t want to believe it. But there’s nothing I can do. My strength is nothing compared to them, so I can only watch how they insert their metal clubs with spikes on Cara’s vagina, how they cut her in pieces and make her a pulp.
When they hear me crying and calling her name, one of them grabs Cara and shows me her battered face.
“YOU killed her. This girl trusted you and did all that to protect you. Yet, YOU killed her. Ahahaha.”
He cuts Cara’s head in front of me.
I’m furious. I hate everything. But what I hate the most is myself. Cara’s shocked face before I killed her is forever stuck on my head. The hate grows until I feel it piercing my heart. I just want one thing. I want the world to end.
Then, the wolves eating Cara make strange sounds and become monsters. They attack everyone and grow, breaking and changing forms. One grows as big as a tree, with the form of a centipede. It stabs everyone with its legs and stops all the people who tried to escape. The monsters show no mercy, killing the kids too.
But I don’t care anymore. I killed Cara.

Just Don't Shoot the Quartermaster
Aliens are real! And monsters! But that's racist, don't call them that. And there's magic too! The life of humble, hard-working Carioca*¹² Rafael Barro is thrown into disarray when the interstellar Multi-Unity Alliance comes knocking. During the negotiations to take Earth in as a Protected Member-Planet for the glory of our AI overlords, the aliens ‘accidentally’ break the Veil that keeps the mythics protected from humanity’s knowledge, revealing the creatures of legend and myth that were hiding among us for millennia — from the doorman to global leaders. After a series of mishaps in his ever chaotic Brazil, our intrepid hero decides to join the Unity's Army, where he ends up as a inglorious… quartermaster. The Unity takes all recruits to make matters worse, including the mythics! And the cherry on the damn pie is Rafael Barro’s extra assignment: writing this historical first-hand report on the wonders of Earth’s diversity, the seamless adaptation of all its members, and on his gallant units’ first stellar expedition ever to defend another precious*³ world! Are we talking about the same planet? (Reader discretion is advised; Contains Graphic Language and Potentially Excessive Swearing) *¹ Carioca = demonym of someone from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. *² humble and/or hardworking Cariocas = not necessarily mythics, ordinary ones actually exist. *³ precious = inasmuch every living planet is precious. Editor's Note: Someone disable his permission to edit the draft on UnityDocs, please! Hello, I'm McKing and I aim to write an original story with elements I've never seen put together before. Feel free to point out any mistakes you see — I'm not a native speaker, so I'm sure a few will pass me by. Sci-fi; Humor; (Brazilian) Urban Fantasy; faint shades of LitRPG. **Be warned it has a bit of an (absurd) slice-of-life beginning though the story is being subtly (I hope) worked on and eventually shifts gears (a bit). I planned to say that from the beginning, but I forgot to add it.** I hope that you enjoy it and that I can grow as a writer with your contributions. No Fixed Update Schedule. My inspiration comes in bursts and so will the Chapters. Sorry if that displeases you (I love regular updates too), but I'm afraid that's the best I can do for now. Keep in mind that it is a work in progress and things can eventually change a bit - I'll try to always note the changes. Sorry for the bad cover, it was the best my sorry skills could do! I hope you enjoy it,Mcking

8 154For King and Kin: A Fox's Journey
Two fox-kin siblings set out to serve a human king, hoping to secure ties with the royals that had formed in times of war. Yet, much is demanded of them as their father's reputation precedes them. They find the King struggling to keep his vassals from breaking the terms of the armistice. With reports of smuggling increasing and the nation's strategic resources at stake, their father is sent to oversee the border. The king, fearing for his own children, hopes for six more months. Meanwhile, tavern brawls turn bloody as a cry spreads across the land, "Loyalty? Or bread!". What to expect: - cold steel weapons with magic- colonial-esque era- elements of strategy (including logistics)- powerful mages that can't block a crossbow bolt. Except for some earth mages.- realistic depictions of violence. I don't care to focus on it. - other races introduced eventually, if they fit. - Australian english, except when I slip. Not much slang though, I reckon.
