《Rise of the Forgotten》Interlude: A Different Perspective

The attack of the Tailmen was a shock to everyone at how effective they were. The first battle was live streamed to everyone by the Admiral. People expected a fierce fight before the Tailmen retreated. They were obviously gobsmacked at how quickly and cleanly the fight ended. There wasn't a single ship actually damaged.
After the battle the live stream ended with some people wearing armour and a cape of some beast coming to the bridge where the Admiral was located. They didn't say a word as the public watched. Then a person came up wearing some more diplomatic clothes. They asked the crew to surrender and cooperate. The crew promptly did ao and the video cut.
The entire galaxy was shocked. Their first defense and one of their strongest fleets had just fallen with little effort. They had also seen videos of other planets inside of the galaxy getting attacked and then captured.
Some people noticed and pointed out that the Tailmen had caused little casualties and zero confirmed deaths. No ships were destroyed either and so far, beside the invasion, they had been largely peaceful.
Over the next couple days the people of the galaxy had been looking after what the Tailmen had been doing over their time in the galaxy. So far they have been extremely peaceful. They had even improved the planets they had control over. Crime had also fallen drastically as they had made the punishment of crimes evident.
They had also made demonstrations of the punishments of those that had committed the crimes. They also provided irrefutable evidence of the crimes as well. They even helped around the planets in many ways. So far a lot of people viewed the Tailmen as peaceful invaders.
There had also been many people that had started to listen to the priests about what they had been saying. Some people over these few days had also started learning about the faith and history of the Tailmen. They had also learned about how the lead fleet had been very unrelenting in their attacks and uprooting of some of the worst criminal groups in the edge planets.

Then there was a move no one expected, the lead fleet attacked Earth. Everyone and their pets watched this. While the entrance to the galaxy was heavily defended, the Earth, along with the other founding members' planets, is even more heavily defended. They had fleets of similar size as the entrance fleet along with various defense stations and weaponized moons and planets.
This battle would show whether or not the Tailmen could be stopped at all. People watched without any deviation in focus as the fleet of ships appeared beyond pluto. They watched as the dwarf planet and the space stations unleashed their fire power. They watched as the fleet didn't even slow down and continued to move on with a steady pace.
They watched as the fleet disabled the weapons on the moon and moved onwards. They watched as the defense fleets had attacked from afar and other space stations fired upon them. They watched as everything was ineffective at breaching the shields. They watched as the defense fleet had set up their last stand with Luna.
They watched as even with the combined firepower of the entire fleet, various space stations, and Luna still couldn't damage the ships in the fleet. This lasted until one of the ships in the Tailmen fleet had their hull at least somewhat damaged. Then they watched as the Flagship of the crusade had unleashed their claws and showed their teeth.
A third of the defense fleet had been obliterated in a very short amount of time. People watched in horror as the Tailmen truly showed what their ships were capable of. They had shown their carrot, the disabling of ships and removal of crime, and now showed the stick. They then took Earth on the ground as well in just a few hours. The Tailmen then stayed there for a couple of days and people had also seen what the leader of the Tailmen looked like.

He looked like a god. He stood at 200 cm with the darkest black hair and had eyes like liquid silver. His skin had a sun kissed tone and, even though he wore a robe, you could tell his body was fit and muscular. They saw videos of this person with his guards, the same ones that boarded the ships in the first battle, and visited various famous locations.
They witnessed the attention he gave at other peoples culture and history. They saw the respect he gave monuments and the respect of those that built them. He even visited graves and places of battle and great atrocities, like Auschwitz and Verdun.
They then watched as the fleet left for a new battle. They had also given a public offer of surrender to the Federation and the individual planets. They had also been informed by their respective leaders that should they want to then they could become a part of the Tailmen and come under its protection. This offer gave the people a great deal to think about.

8 223Reality's Gate: Stealing The Gifts Of The Gods
One day, earth managed to create an alternate Reality Gate. However, it malfunctioned, molding our reality with the other. In this, it became commonplace to jump between worlds, create magical wonders, destroy and create with but a whim. The biggest change though came from something that was truly unique: The "gifts" given at birth. These "Gifts" given by the gods of that reality were now bestowed upon our Reality as well. Yet, there was one person who wasn't given a gift. And in a last ditch effort of The Anomalous One to fight the gods gave him a gift since the gods wouldn't. Though it was a gift for him, it was a curse for others... This is a story about The Successor of the Ouroboros, who was given the gift of thievery, the gift of taking what the gods give to others and using it for his own purposes. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is not a good guy's story. This is someone filled with hate. This is someone who wants revenge against the gods who didn't give him a gift. This. Is. The. Anti-hero. Of. Anti-heroes.
