《Rise of the Forgotten》Ch. 37 The Crusade Starts

After the training for my guard was complete we packed up everything and set off to the exit. I stood on the bridge of my ship as my guards stood with me. Their armour is black with silver gilding. They had a closed face helmet with a red visor that formed a T where it passed where their eyes were down to where their jaw was. Each had hoods over their heads obscuring the features of the helmet so that it only showed the glowing red visor. They all had a cape made from the pelt of their best kill. Their gilded armour formed a crest of an infinity symbol on a shield covering a crossed sword and spear. (For a better image think of dope ass knight armour because that's the closest you gonna get for now?)
Each stood straight rigid. As we crossed through the portal I was met by the sight of a massive fleet. This is my personal fleet. It is filled with the Valeryian Order and The Sisters of War. The fleet was filled with both large and small vessels to deal with anything. They also contained the army I would use along with my guards. Once we joined up with them I asked for a full report on where the new fleets were at.
The fleets were all located at the major intergalactic Sub-Space corridors. For some reason, there are only a few corridors that go-between galaxies while there are dozens upon dozens in the galaxies themselves. This meant that galaxies are hard to invade if you had a similar level in technology. However, once you established a foothold in the galaxy you were invading you could go almost anywhere. This meant that the Federation and the Dynasty each had extremely large defense fleets around the intergalactic corridors.
With the fleets of ships each in position and trained up, with more on the way, I had us go to our position as well. I had more of an understanding of the Federation so I would be attacking there first. It also contained more of the traitor Omegian bases. The false Alpha wasn't there or in the Dynasty but the majority of the supplies and people they have are all over both galaxies. They also had a decent amount of support coming from the corrupt senators as well as the President herself. This was partly the same with the Dynasty except for the Monarch. He has no dealings with the traitors nor their affiliated.

Once my ship had gotten some supplies the fleet then started to travel to the launching point. Along the way, I started to review the tactics that the military officers had come up with. The Dynasty would be easier to handle because of their feudal government system. The fleets would go and blitz their way to where the noble of the territory lived and take them and their retinue captive. This process would be repeated until it couldn't.
The Federation on the other hand would be more complicated. They had their military primarily in the hands of the President and other ships would be privately owned. They would also be kept at the most secure planets they had access to. These planets were usually kept closer to the core of the galaxy. Though it did allow me to capture the outer planets with ease. The federation did reinforce the exit points with more ships that they built and brought from across their galaxy. They also employed mercenaries and other organizations from the galaxies.
This made the entry points to the galaxy heavily guarded but made other places have relatively lax guards. With those lax guards, I had a fleet of ships take an artificial corridor to specific strategic points of the federation. I also had some of the priests in the federation that were trying to spread the faith, spread out the information about why there was a war starting. They would also be spreading rumors about the president's corruption. I wouldn't want the president to be removed from office right away by releasing the actual evidence I had. Instead, I was sowing the seeds of doubt in the populace.
These factors would help me with making my crusade a little more justified and reasonable. The same would also be done in the Dynasty with the more corrupt nobles. This information would also have some evidence released alongside it so that people didn't think it was just the Tailmen making shit up. It would help make us improve our image along with us taking out criminals and underworld crime rings. With all this, it should help with keeping the people calm and decrease the chances of rebellion.
They had started a few weeks after the President and Monarch refused to let me conduct my crusade. Many nobles in the Dynasty had come into heavy inquiry and are still being investigated. The President on the other hand has come under scrutiny about her actions while she has been in office. This hasn't limited her actions but did make the masses more distrustful. As the crusade went on I would target the planets that she had used for illegal activities.

We arrived at the area where the corridor was located and then had all the fleets prepare for the invasions. I also had the strike fleets already launch so that we could confuse them about how we were attacking from inside their galaxy already. This would have spread their forces so that they could protect their important planets. After a couple of hours, every ship was ready. Once they were ready I had all of us slip into the corridor and warp away.
It took us a couple of days to get to our locations. Once we arrived and slipped out of the corridor and were immediately contacted by the defense fleet. I let them connect to the ship and a lizard man appeared as a hologram. "Zel'Zari Tailmen fleet. I am asking you to return to your territory and halt all aggression. You are in violation of the treaty."
"No. There are people in your federation that have committed a great crime against nature. Many criminal organizations have been allowed to exist and prey upon the people of your federation. They also help the Arch heretics that have refuge in your federation. There are also people in your federation that are helping these heretics and criminals." I spoke out.
"That may be so but this is not the Tailmen and you have no authority in here. Turn back or be fired upon."
"You should be glad that I don't want a true war," I then cut the connection. "Disable their ships. We will need them when we take over their galaxy." I told the fleet.
The fleets then started to fire upon each other. The federation ships fired everything at us. Fighters and drones also flew out of their carriers and flew to us. The mercenaries also fired potshots at us to help as little as they could while still getting paid.
My fleet had their shields up and at full power. Fighters and drones launched as well and swarmed around the fleet to protect it. We fired our Ion cannons to help disable their ships and fighters. Turrets rose from the hulls and shot down all of the drones. The Ion blasts tore through the federation fleets shields and started to overload the systems aboard their ships. Their space stations were also being targeted but we only attacked their weapon systems.
Minutes passed and slowly their fighters and ships were being disabled. Their ships tried hard to damage us but couldn't get past the layers of shields the ships possessed. Erendial told me that the Admiral in charge of the fleet was horrified at the ease at which we could disable their ships. Missiles were launched from their ships that could take out unprotected cites but they could only barely take down the shields on the ships.
It took a couple of hours for all of the ships to be disabled. The mercenaries had tried to flee the battle once they realized that they couldn't win. Once they tried we focused fire upon them and disabled them all in mere seconds. After all of the ships had been disabled I had some of my guards and some of the troops being transported board the ships and arrest the officers aboard the ships. It took a couple of hours before all of the officers had been arrested and they were put on one of the prison ships I had made.
I left a couple of ships to guard the disabled ships. I took the rest of the fleet and moved on. We would face an even greater force later on as the Admiral had sent out a video of the battle. I also got a report that the sneak attack on one of their major shipyards has been successful and we have taken control of the shipyard.
I reached a planet close to the exit point that was a haven for criminal activity. There were secret bases and markets all over the planet that sold illegal goods to the desperate and depraved. As we arrived I had gotten messages that the rest of the fleets had similarly been successful. After I had gotten rid of the criminals in the region I would move on to the major planet in the region, Earth.
