《Rise of the Forgotten》Ch.34 The Corrupted

The High Tain had tasked the Valaryian Order with taking me to where the corrupted were kept at. This had led me to a moon in the system that was extremely fortified. This moon had orbital defense stations and a fleet in orbit. On the surface of the moon, it was covered in various outposts and guard stations. We landed and went through the most defended base on the moon.
This base is humongous and filled with a variety of defenses. Each hall and door could be shut and sealed should it be needed and turrets were placed throughout the hallways. This place was manned by a specialized Order that only dealt in guarding this place. They carried the same level of tech as the Valeryian Order and each member is trained to the highest level they could be.
This is a testament to the sheer strength of the corrupted and the defenders that kept them sealed in the moon. The guards leading me and my guard told us that the corrupted destroyed entire worlds when they weren't sealed. The cost of sealing them was vast and in the trillions. This had severely weakened all 3 galaxies and it took decades to recover from.
After going through many checkpoints and sealing all the hallways along the way we arrived at a massive door. These doors stood at 12 meters tall and were 3 meters thick made of an alloy called Quinsis. This is an extremely strong and heavy alloy that could withstand shots from a battleship. It is also an extremely expensive material to make and very heavy. These doors weigh around 56,520 tonnes. (Metric tonnes this bitch heavy)
This made it extremely difficult to move but also destroy. We now had to open said doors. This process took around half an hour to do. Once it was open screeches and wails leaked out into where we were at. The guards immediately got ready for the potential of combat. They didn't have to wait long.
A couple of seconds after the screams things that looked like they took only the most dangerous of various species let through the 3-meter opening. They had multiple heads, legs, tails, and wings. Each of these parts all came from different animals or species and came together to form monstrous beings.

I could feel the agony and pain that came from their souls. These were without a doubt Omegians. They all suffered from a maddening pain that came straight from their souls. They attacked my guards in a vain attempt to try and lessen the pain. A couple of minutes and I couldn't stand seeing them like this.
I sent out the full power of my aura and mixed in some of my soul energy in it. This made the creatures back off and freeze. I approached one of these creatures to see what is wrong with them. I touched it and sent my sight in it to look at its soul.
As I looked at the soul I was shocked. Its soul was twisted and stabbed. It had spiked chains covering it and had spikes planted all over and inside it. These chains and spikes had a foul and dark aura surrounding them that fed into the soul. They also sucked energy from the soul to feed itself and strengthen them.
I approached these chains with some of my soul and tried to touch it. As I did so they tried to latch onto my soul. It split part of it off from the soul and lessened the amount on the soul. As it tried and failed to latch on to my soul more of these chains and spikes tried to help.
They all failed but still brought me a great amount of pain. Still, the failure of the attachment on my soul caused more of the chains and spikes left the soul they were attached to to try and attach to mine. This failure and re-attempt with reinforcements eventually led to all of the chains and spike leaving the soul and trying to go to mine. As they did so they caused me so much pain that I fell onto my knees.
The pain is so great that it couldn't be described. The scraping and attempts to puncture my soul all caused pain unimaginable. So much pain that even the lives inside of me felt it and started to cry out inside my soul. It even caused the Alphas to come out of their study of my soul and make them struggle to hold in their cries.

While I couldn't move nor speak I could look at my soul and study the things attacking me. This required my full strength of will and my full focus. I looked at them trying to puncture my soul and absorb the energy it possessed. I studied how the energy that formed it took shape and it's weakness. I looked at it and tried to see how it formed and what formed it. I tried to see who or what could do this.
Perhaps sensing me studying it or seeing its failure in trying to breach into my soul, it then started to consume the energy that it had absorbed from the previous soul. It started to glow and it looked like it had made itself sharper. Its aura seemed more powerful as well and had appeared to become darker and evil. With the new and improved form, it started to attack again.
When it did so it caused me so much pain that I screamed out in pain. The effects of which I would see later. The pain I felt had increased by a dozen times. I screamed my lungs out. My mind blanked for a second unit I came to. I was extremely close to having my mind break. This would be worse than just a little bit that I had before. That had been fixed when I visited Ev'Andel. No this would be so much worse.
Pulling through with just a thread holding me together I studied it more. It took what felt like hours until I found a way to destroy these chains. I was strained to my very limits and could break at any moment. With the method, I then took my SE and surged it with surgical precision, and struck a specific point in the chains. The strength of my soul caused the chains to then shatter as it filled them and destroyed them from the inside.
Feeling a great amount of relief I then looked around me. Everyone was slammed against the walls and their armour had shattered. The floor around me had cracks in it and the walls, as well as the doors, had dents in them. A few of the guards had even died. My guards had only survived by turning into their mist form. Still, they were greatly hurt.
The creatures had survived but had been dealt heavy damage. Getting up I walked to one and placed my hand on it, sending my soul in it. It had the same deal with it as the other one. This time I didn't touch it and instead looked for the weak point first. Finding it I sent a giant surge into it and destroyed the entirety of it. Looking at it from the outside and the creature immediately started to look like one species.
I then looked around me and let out a tired sigh. This was going to take a long time. I then got up and moved to the next one and repeated the process. I did this with all the others as well. During this time my guards collected themselves together and helped the wounded stationed guards. It took me a couple of hours but I had dealt with all of these. There were more inside. I then walked inside the giant prison and searched for them.
It took a few days of searching and subduing but I eventually finished and led out a very large group of Omegians. It was a quiet and tiring journey until we arrived out of the prison. Once I stepped out I was confronted by my guards for leaving them here. I calmed them down by saying that they were in no state to continue and that I could protect myself.
They calmed down quickly and we left shortly thereafter with a large group of people. We had to wait for a little bit for everyone to be transported to the planet where the main temple was at but I got done. Tired I had someone give the group of several thousand people someplace to stay as I walked to my room. I was extremely tired and on the verge of collapse.
Once I arrived at my room I collapsed on the first thing that could hold me with no care. This so happened to be a couch with a very soft and squishy pillow. I fell to sleep immediately.

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
