《Rise of the Forgotten》Ch.6 Goals

Gazing at these people, these beings of immense power and capability. It was amazing. I knew that if I wasn't sitting on this Throne that my mind would have been frozen. This Throne, whatever it truly is, was allowing me to keep my cool.
The First approached me. "Find your people who are spread across the stars. When you are in the same system they will feel it. When you are on the same planet they will come to you. Your soul will lead you. It will resonate with them. That is how I united our people back when we were primitive. You are Alpha." He spoke to me in a deep authoritative voice that resonates throughout the space around me. I had a goal before me. After speaking his mist form dispersed and was absorbed into me.
Next was the Second. "Your people used to be unified, but have now fallen into discord. You must unite them. Have them put aside their differences and unite under you. They may listen to you, but they will still feud with each other. They are still individuals. Unite they like I once did." She spoke in a calm and even tone. She was gentle to me, but I knew that it wouldn't always be the case. She was then absorbed into me.
The Third approached. "Innovate and explore. You have the knowledge of your entire race within you. Different theories, different methods. Use them. Build for your people. That is all I ask." Their voice was robotic. Neither he nor she, yet I could feel their passion within them. They were absorbed.
The Fourth spoke "Be careful of the UE. There are lots of different types of energies in it. Each has their own effects. Some you will need a strong mind and will to absorb, otherwise they will consume you. Listen to the counsel of others. You are not perfect. Do not be arrogant and prideful. Be grateful, what you are born with others look for their entire lives to never get. That is what I ask." His voice was like the rumbling of an avalanche. He spoke with severity. He was absorbed like the others.

The Fifth stood next to me. "Show mercy where you can, but if you believe that your mercy will endanger your people, show none. I have two tasks for you. Find the Librarium. This will allow you to directly contact Erendial. Until then you will only receive limited help from it. After that you must go to our home planet, Ev'Andel. There you will find a nice little surprise waiting for you. Be careful young one there are many things that the Empire at the height of its power didn't know, even more now. Forge your path. Meet new people. Live free." He spoke to me in a suave voice, one full of passion and mystery. He was then absorbed into me.
Before I was mostly aimless, not knowing what I was going to do in the long term. Now I had multiple goals. Now I could feel a weight of responsibility, the weight of an Alpha. I lived the lives of 5 different people, most of them living for thousands of years. I was going to have a massive headache when I woke up.
"Your Alpha has returned." I said making my voice heard throughout this realm. My voice, smooth, young, and yet full of authority. There was no doubt. There was no question. I. Have. Arrived.
"We welcome the return of the Alpha. Long may you live." The people before me bellowed out. Trillions of people all saying the same thing all at once. It shook the surroundings. I was shaking both inside and out. I stayed strong.
After their cry the people before me then dispersed, most of them were absorbed into me. Quite a few of them just disappeared. Some became statues. None remained by the end of it. Those that disappeared were still alive. They now know I have arrived. They will prepare. Either they will solve their differences and problems for my arrival. Or they will have me deal with their problems. One way or the other, they know I am coming.

I now had a vast amount of knowledge stored within my soul that I could access. I could now ask for advice from my past selves. So long as I wasn't stupid I could unite my people with little difficulty. Now I just had to find them. Before even that I had to figure out where in the universe I was and what the closest Galactic or Intergalactic government is.
After getting a rough plan down I started to wake up. The pain assaulting my head was horrendous, but it wasn't the worst pain I've felt. The pain of my 'birth' exceeded that by a long shot.
I found myself in a new room. This one was filled with medical equipment. It seems that I am in the medbay. This is the most advanced ship that the Empire ever produced. It was filled with all sorts of tech. The outside made it look like an advanced ship, the inside on the other hand was a different matter. The inside of the ship was a Sub-Space that could interact with the 'outside'. Essentially I had a mobile base.
After waiting for the headache to calm down a little I started to get up. Almost immediately after I started to get up Aldion made itself known. "Captain, are you alright? Are you in an optimal state?" Aldion was concerned for me.
"Physically, I'm fine. Spiritually, I'm amazing. Sadly my head feels like someone decided to ram a ship in it." I replied, I had changed in more than one way. I had matured in a very short time. Watching thousands of years peoples lives does that to you. Now I just had to organize and review them. This would take a while.
"Aldion." I called to my companion. He wasn't leaving my side anytime soon. He was going to be by my side as much as possible.
"Yes Captain?"
"What is our current position and how long has it been since the Vengeful War?" I had to know how long it had been. From there I would need to find out if the Vengeful are around and if not, what happened to them.
"It has been around 100,000 standardized years, Sir. Currently we are positioned on an asteroid going through the Empty Space between galaxies." Damn it's been a long time. A lot could happen in a thousand years, let alone a hundred of those. This time scale changed things. The surviving Omegians could have changed greatly. This is troubling. Sadly there is little I could do without meeting any of them. I just hope that there are no radicals among them.
"Aldion from now on you shall call me Alom in the presences of others or when we are alone Andemion. Secondly you are to connect to Erendial and figure out what the closest Galactic or Intergalactic government is. Once you have found one or more you will inform me and we shall make the decision then. Now, where is the food. I haven't eaten since my birth." From there I was directed to the kitchen. From there I tried my best to make some food. It was mostly successful. Mostly.
After I finished my meal, it didn't taste that bad, Aldion told me that there were 3 main choices closest to me. Once I was told that I went to the bridge of my ship so that I could sit in my cool seat. (He may have viewed thousands of years of life, but he is still ultimately a grown baby.)

While it may not be masterfully plotted, the subject matter is one close to my heart and one that I endeavor to explore in a new light. Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.
