《The Legacy of a Pirate》Chapter 24 Confrontation!

I pointed at the massive man, " Hey! You pig bastard!"
Everyone around me seemed to freeze in terror after seeing a young boy calling Sir Tolbert fat. "Are you crazy?!" They all thought.
"Hahahahaha! Oh, for a minute there I thought you were calling me fat," Tolbert smiled warmly, but if you were looking at it, you would instantly experience a chill up your spine. "Who does that brat think he is?!" He thought.
I reached for my weapon, but I quickly remembered I left it back on the ship.
"Shit...Just when I really needed it." I groaned. "-You are the one I'm talking to fatso! You are going to pay for what you did!"
"What? I haven't done anything wrong at all. What are you accusing me of?" Tolbert asked as a smug smile appeared on his face.
"You!-"
"Honestly, I don't have time to play with a child...Get out here, boys!" Tolbert shouted as man and women dressed in loose-fitting black clothes came pouring out of his mansion. Each of them was heavily armed as they smiled menacingly.
"Eh? you called us out for this boss?" A large man laughingly said as he stepped out in front of the 50 other people dressed in black.
"I don't have time to deal with him. Just get him out of here. Kill or torture him. I don't care." Tolbert waved his hand as if he was shooing them away.
"Hahaha well, you do pay us. So, I guess I have to earn my keep." The man said as he pulled his large bastard sword out if its sheath, holding it with just one hand. "I'm sorry kid it's just business! Surround him!" He barked as a group of people in black slowly started to circle me.
"Alright now let's get back to business. Now, who should go first? Oh, I know! Why don't you go, Mr.Devin?" Tolbert asked as he completely forgot about my existence. He seemed to be having the time if his life.
"Grrr...I hate that guy even more now!" I said as I gnashed my teeth.
"These must be the thieves the guy was talking about!" Fay declared as she flew out of my jacket, and onto my head.
The thieves were a bit stunned from the sudden appearance of Fay, but it only lasted for a moment.
"Let's get this over with!" I said as I raised my arms in front of my face.
I knew some simple hand-to-hand combat to take care of simple people.
(I just need to keep focused and-)
*Bang!*
A single bullet scratched my cheek, drawing blood, and all of my planning went out the window.
Fay didn't even have time to raise a shield for me, "I'm s-sorry Ian I was-"
I didn't even bother to listen to Fay's excuse before I leaped at the thief who shot at me, "Die!" I shouted as I knocked the thief down with a fierce tackle, sending both of us flying quite a distance until we landed on the ground
I heard something break as the man coughed up blood and immediately fainted afterward.
I got back onto my feet as quick as possible, but the remaining thieves were quick on their feet, enclosing me into a circle again.
I held my fists up in front of my face again, "Come at me you filthy bastards!" I said as one unlucky thief was sent flying from the force of my punch, and crashed headfirst into the yard.

The thief showed no signs of movement.
I have never been the one to kill easily, but for some reason, my blood was boiling.
I wanted to make them suffer.
I wanted to kill them!
The feeling felt a bit familiar. However, I still thought it strange.
(Could something be-)
"Damn you! What are guys doing! Kill him!" The leader of the thieves shouted.
"Come and try it!!"I shouted as my multi-colored eyes brightened, and I completely forgot about my earlier thought.
I repeatedly dodged all of the incoming thieves attacks at the last possible second. Bullets weren't even an issue now that Fay was protecting me with her magic shield. I entirely focused on fighting and sent every one of them flying with one right hook!
Some were lucky to end up with only broken bones, and the others never moved again.
"Grr! Get out of the way! I'll handle this!" The leader shouted as he charged me with his bastard sword.
I reacted quickly and grabbed a sword from the ground, blocking the attack with ease.
"You're good for just a stinking brat! I would have given you a position in my group. But, unfortunately, you will have to die now!"
"I'd rather die than join a bunch of weaklings anyway!!" I said, and the large man became even more anger. We exchanged sword blows one after other. Each one of them stronger than the last.
"Fay! Do it!"
"Alright!" Fay shouted as she erected a shield in front of me, blocking the oncoming attack from the thief leader.
"What!-"
"It's over!" I said as the split second after the attack was blocked, I moved with the fastest speed possible and sliced him half.
The thief leader didn't even have time to scream.
"R-run. We got to get out of here!" One of the merchants screamed as they all cleared out of the area as fast as possible, leaving their carriages behind.
"Hmm? He's stronger than I originally thought.." Tolbert quietly said as he pulled a small black box out from his pocket, and pressed down on the red button on top of it.
Fay was a bit disturbed about how easily I ended people's lives now. "Something is definitely changing him, and I don't like it.." She thought as she frowned at the scene.
"Who's next!?" I shouted as I stared at the remaining thieves, and they immediately took off, running while screaming, " Monster!"
"Ugh...Useless trash...No matter. Guards! Attack the boy!" Tolbert shouted at the top of his lungs.
"It's your turn no-" I suddenly felt all the hairs on my skin stand up.
I couldn't see anything, but something was coming!
A spear was thrown at me with an incredible speed!
(Shit! I can't dodge this! Hopefully Fay can take this!)
*Clang!*
I sighed in relief as the spear had collided with Fay's magic shield. The sheer power behind it forced me to dig in in my heels to avoid being blown away.
I then knocked it away with the sword in my hand, and it harmlessly fell to the ground.
I gasped for air as sweat started to drip from my forehead.
(What the hell was that?!)
"Are you ok Ian?!"Fay was a bit surprised by the sudden attack but luckily her shield was able to take it. "That attack nearly broke the shield!"
"Grrr..Where did it come from?" I asked, but I didn't have to wait long to get my answer.

Imperial soldiers poured out of Tolbert's mansion until the stage was blocked off in front of me. The entire group of Imperial soldiers was in full-body armor, and each of them carried a long menacing spear.
"Something isn't right here!" I groaned as I glanced at the new enemies. I could feel my strength slowly slipping away, but I willed myself to hold on as I gripped the sword in my hand tighter.
"Ohohoho! You were able to block the attack. What is that little thing?"Tolbert expected the boy to be skewered by his guard's spear, but he didn't expect that little creature being able to protect the boy.
"Kill the brat and capture that little fairy ALIVE!" Tolbert shouted as the Imperial soldiers all attacked me at once.
I made the split decision to jump into the air to gain distance.
"Shit!" I shouted as the Imperial soldiers followed me within seconds.
(They are moving way to fast! Why do they feel so-)
Ellie arrived on the scene with her chakrams drawn, "Ian! I'm here!"
"Ellie! Stay back!" I urged, but it was too late!
The soldiers before me moved as if they were starving wolves, their sharp spears already closing in on Ellie!
I tumbled onto the ground and immediately started moving towards Ellie.
(Faster! I need to go faster!)
*Woooosh*
I covered my eyes with my arm as a strong gust of wind appeared out of the nowhere. I was almost blown away if not for plunging the sword into the ground and using it as an anchor.
"Ellie!?" I screamed as I opened my eyes once the wind was gone.
*Crash!*
The soldiers were sent flying into the wall of the mansion behind us, demolishing a large part of it.
Ellie used her powers to blow them all away the last second!
"Ian, are you OK?!" Ellie rapidly wheeled herself over to me.
(She is getting a bit stronger...)
"Yeah...I'm alright but..."I looked back at Tolbert, who seemed to be contemplating something.
"Oh, something else I haven't seen at all...Maybe if I turn both that little thing and the girl...I'll get even more benefits..."Tolbert mumbled under his breath.
"It's over Tolbert!" I started walking towards the decorative stage.
"You act as if I still did something wrong. If anything, I should arrest you for the destruction of property! MY property!"Tolbert entire body started to shake in anger.
I pointed at Tolbert, "You are simply a despicable tyrant that needs to be put down! You are causing the merchants to suffer for your own selfish needs!"
Tolbert froze for a moment before smiling, "Huh?... Hahahahaha!"Tolbert maniacally laughed as he held his round stomach, his entire body jiggling as if it was jello.
"What?"
"Oh... I haven't had such a good laugh in so long! Tell me now how do I make them suffer when I buy all their goods? The city is doing so much better because of me!" Tolbert shouted as he patted his belly.
"Buy?! You still call it that! I heard about you from an old bartender!"
"Bartender?....OH! Baron?! Hahahaha! Perfect! I now have a reason to end his pathetic life! And here I wanted him to suffer more." Tolbert sighed as he rubbed his forehead.
I leaped into the air and dived at Tolbert with my right foot extended, "You won't get the chance!"
*Boing!*
An unusual sound was heard instantly after my foot connected with Tolbert's chest. I was then pushed back with the equivalent amount of force I put into the kick.
"What the!" I somersaulted backward back onto my feet as my eyes returned to normal. Once I was back on the ground, I gazed up at him curiously.
"I guess all of that fat isn't for nothing," Fay said.
Tolbert looked at the footprint left in the middle of his chest, "Now look what you did! Your dirty footprint is on my expensive clothes! Guards!"
"Huh?"
The soldiers that crashed through the wall earlier poured out of the gaping hole with damage that would usually make someone immobile. I quickly noticed that some were missing heads, and wires were poking out of the neck area.
"They aren't alive?! I knew something was off!" I shouted as I moved in front of Ellie.
"That makes sense. Normal soldiers wouldn't be able to be this strong!" Fay said.
"Ian we need to get out of here!" Ellie said as she tugged on the back of my jacket.
"I know but I-"
"Tch...I'm going to have to send them back to be repaired, but after they kill you!" Tolbert shouted.
The unusual soldiers moved in for an attack as if nothing was wrong with them.
"Ellie can you do another one of those from earlier?!" I hurriedly asked.
"I can try!"
"Good! On Three! One! Two! Thr-" Suddenly I witness someone flash in front of me, and the soldiers were sent flying into the unknown or obliterated into pieces within moments.
Tolbert shouted in anger, "WHO?!" His eyes turning red as he saw a stunning purple-haired woman in front of the stage with a huge smile on her face.
"There you three are!" Vivian turned around and acted as if Tolbert wasn't there.
"And It's over! Vivian is the winner!" Fay smiled as she instantly flew over to Vivian.
"Vivian!" Ellie became ecstatic that Vivian arrived. She wasn't used to real combat yet. That last-minute usage of her powers earlier was quite draining.
I walked over to Vivian, "How did you know about us being here?"I smiled.
"Mmm...An old man was asking for help in the marketplace saying that two kids were in danger, and my gut told me it was you two."Vivian smiled as she gripped my shoulder with enough force to cause pain.
"O-ow! OW! OK! STOP PLEASE! I'M SORRY!"I shrieked as I gripped Vivian's hand.
"Hmm...Good enough." Vivian slowly lets go of my shoulder, and I rubbed it to soothe the pain.
(Damn, Gorilla!) I glared defiantly at her for a moment, but she also glared back at me. I rapidly turned my eyes toward the ground.
Tolbert was quickly becoming annoyed at how all of these people are ruining his amusement! "But that woman...Why does she seem familiar?" He thought as he stroked his chin.
"...Vivian Dufort...Lieutenant Vivian Dufort!! You are alive?!" Tolbert became wide-eyed as he gazed at the woman before him. She was a spitting image!

The Trespasser
Synopsis Following his di—instincts, David finds himself in a weird situation; the next thing he knows, he's in a different world, dying, and manhandled by a big-ass alien. When the Source comes to his aid, granting him the access that—like every other sapient—he's due, David barely manages to get out of the fight with his life intact, but is that enough? Of course it isn't. The very Source giving him powers is also poisoning him to death. Oh, there she is, the petite female alien. Will that be enough to save him? Of course it won't. If he wants to be saved, he has first to save himself. The only way to do so is by getting to know the world around him, but even before that... Why the bloody hell did I have to be called Deviant!? *** Blurb? Blurb. The Trespasser starts slowly, I believe I've written a decent world, and I want you to find out what it's all about, won't just throw it in your face because of *levels*. I do not like stories that don't make sense. David is not a murderhobo, he respects life and answers to the world and the weird situations thrown at him with irony and sarcasm; so you are looking for easy killing streaks, you will not find them here. So, a man finds himself into the wild? It's a different world, and yet he can breathe its air? Finds himself in a lucky-low-level zone? Oh, look at that, people speak English—how likely is that? So, nope, not for me, gentleman. You won't find anything of the likes here. Again, a man finds himself in a new world but only thinks about the system? Yeah, that's not exactly how it works. David will try to find out what it's really all about, what the aliens want, how they work, why is that Fay really helping him? You can kill somebody to get levels, and yet there is not even a form of police? Not gonna happen here. Man becomes suddenly overpowered in a world where people can live for thousands of years by having enough luck to face only lower-level people? Hahaha—nope. Lastly...Spaceships and fantasy with LitRPG... say what!? Well, what's wrong with that? Let's make it happen, shall we? *** You want even more info? Really? Alright... David will start from the very bottom of the food chain, so there will be a settling arc—it's inevitable. David will find true companions, with personalities and backstories, and they will have a life of their own. There will be enemies, and those enemies will have a life of their own, too; there will be no evil just because. The world-building will have true depth; it will not exist just because the protagonist visits it. There will be both Fantasy and (Soft) Sci-fi—yeah, you heard that right. There will be rationality to every action taken, as long as the characters are aware of what is going on. There will be a godly system. You will come to read because of the world-building, but you will stay for the characters. The dead stay dead, and you will weep for them. There will be no action without a reaction. Lastly, there will be laughs. Are you still up for it? Then get in but fasten your seatbelts because it's going to be a wild ride. *** Release Days: Twice a week Release Time: ~09:00 PM UTC Words per chapter: ~3000 This web novel is also available on other platforms.
