《Boku No Halo Academia: Rising Conflict》Chapter 10: Drawn to a Close

Until your Last Dying Breath
"It will all be for nothing!" The walls, roof and floor were closing in on them. if they did nothing then they would all be crushed to death. Chisaki was as determined as he could ever be, being prepared to stop them by any means necessary.
"Special Move: Phantom Thief!" Mirio ran at Chisaki, using his quirk to phase through every attack that came his way. The moment the distance was closed he punched Chisaki straight across the face, throwing off his mask. But that wasn't all he did. At the same time Mirio pushed his hands through Chisaki’s pockets, bringing out a pair of cases. One blue, one red.
"Give them back!" He shouted, reaching towards Mirio to try and grab him but failing. The walls then stopped closing in, Chisaki didn’t want to risk destroying the bullet that he’d made. "I have put too much effort into my work to simply lose it now!"
"-Smash!" One of the side walls was broken through, and charging through was Midoriya with Hawks, Nighteye, Eraserhead and Tokoyami.
"Deku, where are the others?!" Aurdel shouted.
"Kirishima and Fat Gum were separated from us, and Rock Lock is restraining one of the Villains!"
"Go for him now!" Eraserhead shouted, his hair lifted as he used Erasure. The rapidly shifting sea and sky of concrete and stone suddenly went dead as Chisaki was no longer able to use Overhaul, causing a number of structures that were in the process of being made to crumble. It also left a lot of empty space in the area above, something that caused Aurdel to worry with how little would now be supporting the houses and streets above them.
"Damn it…" Aurdel stayed back since he had Eri, the others going straight for Chisaki. "Chrono!" A strand of hair shaped liked an hour hand flew from the man in white robes, hitting Eraserhead in the back. Crap.
"Get back!" Aurdel shouted, but it was too late. Chisaki's quirk returned as Eraserhead blinked, and he slammed his fist into the ground. A large wall of concrete appeared in front of the Heroes, blocking them from immediately approaching Chisaki
"It took you long enough to get back up," Chisaki said annoyed, "Katsukame's booster should be going into effect now too." Spikes shot upwards into the ceiling, blasting a hole through where he knew the road in front of the Yakuza stronghold was. Froppy, Uravity, Ryukyu, the police and the large Yakuza that they’d fought all fell from above. Even from here he could see that they were almost entirely drained of their energy, the effect of that Yakuza member’s quirk. "Deal with them!" Chisaki shouted, breaking apart and reforming Katsukame to get rid of any damage the Heroes had previously done.
"Yes sir!" The large man shouted, bringing about his large fists to slam into Ryukyu with her dragon form. With his renewed energy and the others being exhausted, it meant that they would be taking part in a losing fight. Hawks’ feathers separated and tried to deal with both Overhaul and Katsukame, but the former was able to simply swat them away and the latter seemed to only have his movement just barely hindered by the swarm. Eraserhead had disappeared after Chisaki had thrown up the wall, presumably sealing him in a separate area. Large chunks of dirt, concrete and asphalt soon began to fall from above, smashing into their arena far below the surface. Everyone scrambled as they avoided the debris falling from above, Midoriya and his classmates helping to keep the police officers from being crushed.

"Hawks, take the girl out of here!" Aurdel shouted, "She has to escape or the whole operation is a failure!" He lifted Eri above her head, he could see a vein on Chisaki’s forehead bulge out from anger upon seeing what he was trying to do. Stone spikes raced for him in an attempt to kill him, Aurdel kept having to jump around to avoid being impaled all the while being careful to not drop Eri. The individual feathers then flew over and took hold of Eri, taking her out of his hands and bringing her over towards Hawks.
"No!" Chisaki shouted, reaching up towards the two. Trying to direct his attacks at the two of them left him at a complete disadvantage, as he was nowhere near able to keep up with Hawks’ speed and maneuverability. At the same time Aurdel crashed through the nearest spikes, disconnecting them from Chisaki’s reach and forcing him to restart his attacks from even further back.
With him being distracted trying to reach Hawks and Eri, he was open to being attacked. And that was just what happened. "Manchester Smash!” Midoriya dove down from above, using the heel of his boot to kick Overhaul downward into the ground. There was enough force behind the blow that it forced the man's legs to collapse under his weight, being thrown into the ground before bouncing up without any surfaces to attack or defend with. "Lemillion, now!"
"Right!" Mirio practically flew over. "Improvised Special Move: Air Support Smash!" With a great deal of speed Mirio rebounded back and forth off using the rocks in the air, keeping them in place as he came and went. And with each pass that Mirio made he either dealt a punch or kick to Chisaki from every possible angle, dealing nearly two dozen of the blows. Midoriya then hopped up and went with MIrio for the final blow, kicking Chisaki in the stomach and sending him flying across the room. And as for Aurdel, it's not like he just sat by and watched them fight. He’d gone with Tokoyami and Nighteye to put down Katsukame.
With sleight of hand Nighteye pulled out several hyper density deals from his sleeves, throwing them into the kneecaps of the monster sized man. Even if he could physically take the blow and the resulting pain, it still provided them with the bodily reflex that would allow them to quite literally tip the battle in their favor. As Katsukame’s legs straightened up and froze in reflex, Tokoyami used Dark Shadow to grab him by the leg and pry him from off of the ground and lift him into the air. Immobilized, Aurdel took the opportunity to hop onto and strike over and over. With knife-like blows he was able to punch through the flesh and skin, attacking the soft organs inside his man's body. Everywhere he could hit to make him hurt he did, ending the attack by striking his liver and kidneys. The resulting body-wide stimulation of pain receptors and flooding of toxins forced the big Yakuza to go limp. Ryukyu dealt the final blow as he grabbed him by the chest with her massive claw, stomping into the ground before throwing him across the room to hand on his head.
Aurdel looked up, the situation above was getting worse by the minute. More of the ground, pipes and cables kept breaking and falling, continuing to take what very little support remained for the area above. If something wasn't done they were likely to be buried alive before they could even make an official arrest. "Ryukyu, Uraraka, take Tokoyami with you and try to support the road as long as you can. This raid won't have been much of a success if we all get crushed at the very end."

"Got it!" Uraraka said, touching herself and Tokoyami to make them float up towards the ceiling.
"Nejire, Froppy, go above ground and make sure that the police and captured Yakuza members have all been evacuated out of the area. Search the houses for any civilians too, there shouldn’t be anyone here but I don’t want to risk anyone getting caught in this mess in case the whole block decides to collapse."
"You can count on us!" Nejire said, bringing Froppy up with her towards the surface..
"We... We did it..." Midoriya said, looking where Chisaki and the two other Villains in the room lay. Chisaki was obscured behind the large one, and judging by the beating he'd gone through it should have been safe to assume that he was knocked out...
“Well now, what did I tell you?” Hawks said, floating down holding Eri. “There really was nothing to worry about.” ...But just because something seemed a certain way didn’t mean that it was.
"Disgusting.." Aurdel heard it at a barely audible level. He held up his arm, stopping Mirio and Midoriya from getting any closer to the Villains they were about to restrain. Chisaki stood back up and walked into view, a syringe filled with trigger in his hand. "I find using this filth absolutely disgusting." He raised the syringe, jamming it into the vein on his neck. "But what I think of it doesn't matter. All that matters now is that I crush you here, and remove the disease known as Heroism that plagues this world!" The air around him rippled as the drug went active, like his quirk was somehow able to now break apart and reassemble the very air in the room. The rapid disassembly and reassembly of the air provided a violent decompression, blowing the two students behind Aurdel back with a shockwave.
“Hawks, go!” Hawks gave Aurdel a nod as he ordered him to get to the surface.Quickly he flew up towards where it should be safe.
Overhaul raised his hands into the air and looked him dead in the eyes, murderous intent and anger inside of his own. "All of the Bullets are loyal to me, and will die for me if necessary." He placed one hand on the Katsukame, one on Nemoto. The three figures then broke apart into chunks of flesh and blood, creating a red mist. A chunk of rock was torn out from the ground as flesh and blood swirled around, forming a sort of skeleton. Then once the skeleton was complete the rest of the body was grafted on, forming a sort of kaiju-like monster to stare them down.
Overhaul raised several of his now many hands, slamming them at full force into the ground and activating his quirk. Almost instantly a square mile’s worth of ground was obliterated beneath their very feet, causing them to fall the distance of material that was destroyed. "He's absolutely lost it," Aurdel muttered under his breath. Aurdel caught two officers who were falling with them, Mirio and Midoriya making sure to help the others. The rock and dirt then swirled around in the air before coming down to form several spires, stretching towards the sky through the hole that was ripped open above them. With mini-tremors in his wake Overhaul walked over to the spires, using them as a way to climb out. "Mirio, hand me the red case"
"Here," Mirio said, handing him the case. Aurdel opened it. Four quirk erasing bullets. "What are you planning to do?"
Aurdel pulled out the mag and spare tranq round from his beretta, loading in the four quirk erasing bullets. "I'll give him a taste of his own medicine and destroy his quirk. If it is destroyed, then he should lose his current form and allow us to win the battle."
"How are you going to get up there?" Midoriya asked, watching as Overhaul climbed up the spires towards the surface. "It's a long way up, and if the spires collapse while you're climbing-"
"That’s nothing you need to worry about. Just find where Chisaki shunted off Eraserhead to and evacuate everyone from down here, it's not safe. Once you get to the surface try to stay out of sight." Midoriya seemed reluctant to follow his word this one time, but relented.
Aurdel braced himself, then broke into a full sprint towards the spires. The massive stone structures were nearly ten feet thick and stretched up far into the sky for a distance he didn’t bother to calculate. With his built up momentum he was able to get into a running jump, soaring through the air and landing at a quite respectable distance up the spire. But it’s not like one jump was enough to scale the entire thing, so he started climbing. And even when compared to his years of training and experience, this had to be some of the most dangerous climbing he’d ever done. Massive gusts of winds blew down and around him, threatening to throw him off if he moved in the wrong direction. Bad footholds were common, crumbling under his weight as he tried to move upwards. There were also loose chunks of the spire that fell down from above, threatening to hit him and send him toppling down. On top of all that he was doing it all without any safety equipment. And while he certainly had survived taller falls before, he didn’t find hitting the ground at terminal velocity a pleasant experience.
A large crack formed across the first spire, forcing him to increase his speed in the already very precarious situation that he found himself in. It was at a pace which no normal human could match, and even very few Spartans could do so either. Fortunately, he had some past experience to help him. Then he heard a noise that sounded like thunder, echoing throughout the hollow area. The spire next to him had begun to collapse and lean in his direction, and after mere moments of continued climbing it had completely fallen onto his spire. As that one tipped over he switched from climbing to running across it, before jumping to the next one. All four spires were falling like a chain of dominoes, and by the time the fourth one was ready to completely collapse he was in jumping distance from the surface. He leaped off of the spire and grabbed onto an exposed pipe underneath the road, pulling him up and onto the surface.
The situation was worse than he'd thought, Overhaul had gone into a complete rage after his defeat and losing Eri. Now that he was on the surface he was wantonly destroying homes in what seemed like an attempt at anger relief and an attempt to find where Hawks was hiding with Eri. Houses were crushed or collapsed, and cars were reduced to smoldering wrecks. Aurdel stuck his head back into the hole and amplified his speakers "Get out of there! There's no point in holding up the road any longer then you’re just going to end up being crushed!!" The three Heroes turned their heads back towards him as soon as he said it. Tokoyami was the first to go, Aurdel pulled him up as he climbed out of the hole. Uraraka went next, her face going pale from all of the nausea that he was going through. At the last second her quirk gave out, and she suddenly released everything she’d floated. Including herself. "Got you!" He’d shot his hand out and caught her at the last second, pulling her up to safety
"I'm sorry… I'm too tired." She slumped onto the sidewalk, exhausted. Ryukyu soon flew out from underneath, the area they’d just been holding up beginning to collapse
"Don't worry about it, you did everything you could and that's more than I could have asked for. Get to safety and rest up, I don't doubt that there is going to be a lot of the neighborhood to clean up once this is over." He helped her back onto her feet, allowing her to lean on Tokoyami and Ryukyu as they retreated. Ryukyu would have been a great help to fight the massive Chisaki, but given how much of her energy had been drained from both fighting and trying to maintain the area she was in no condition to keep fighting. Aurdel looked back, Overhaul was crushing the streets, his eyes darting around as he kept trying to find Eri in the rubble. He let out a guttural scream of rage and frustration, it was awful sounding. It was like he’d truly lost his mind.
"Eri, you belong to me and you know it!" Overhaul shouted, his voice amplified by using Nemoto's quirk to try and target Eri specifically, “If you don't give up now then you're just going to get more people killed! What you are is a curse, one that must be controlled for the safety of everyone else!" Aurdel sprinted in the direction of Overhaul’s rampage, coming into what should be the effective range of the bullets. Given the different loading it meant that he had to get in close, and that he had to make his shots count.. "Show me where you are!" He pulled the trigger once, one of bullets leaving the barrel and gunning it straight for Overhaul. He watched as it went in his general direction before curving off to the side, a strong gust of air blowing it into the stoney structures on Overhaul body. He gave a silent curse, these conditions were too drastic for firing something like this. He fired again, this time making sure to compensate for the extra wind that would blow the bullet off course. This time the bullet hit its mark, landing on the flesh. Overhaul’s head turned towards him “You will pay!” The bullet had no effect. The outer layer of flesh and skin had hardened to such a degree that the bullet wasn’t able to penetrate the skin and inject its contents. Instead, it harmlessly bounced off before landing and shattering on the ground.
Overhaul responded with a combination of attacks using his massive arms. Some he slammed into the ground to take more material, using it to create a surging wave of spikes that chased after him. As they approached he jumped and maneuvered from one to another, using them to avoid being struck entirely as he tried to close the distance. Next were several large boulders flung in his direction, each one being larger and heavier than the last. He only narrowly avoided them as they came his way, smashing through the ground as they flew in. He sidestepped them, jumped over them or completely avoided them. But the last one was too large to do any of that. “Smash!" Out of nowhere came Midoriya, destroying the last boulder that had come barreling towards him. "We found Mr. Aizawa, he was cut off from us in another room and stuck with Chrono. I would have brought him up here but his movements are still too slow to use his quirk.”
"I thought I told you to stay out of sight,” he shook his head, “It can’t be helped at this point. Midoriya, I’m going to try and keep Overhaul’s attention. While that happens I want you to go find Hawks and Eri, make sure that they’re both still alive and safe. Drag them over to the ward if you have to.”
"Trying to keep his attention is dangerous… But I trust you!” The two of them separated, each heading in a different direction. Aurdel slid onto his knees as Overhaul threw a car at him, the bottom of the vehicle barely missing the top of his helmet. Once it’d flown past him and impacted on a building the vehicle exploded somewhere behind him, he kept charging forward. His eyes widened slightly as Overhaul reached into the ground, picking up an entire two story home and threw it in his direction. He didn’t have to get through it, all he had to do was not be crushed. Everything around him felt like it slowed down as he concentrated, timing his jump so he would kick through the door and end up inside the house. Then while he was inside and the house rotated he picked up momentum, using it to essentially fly back out the same door he’d entered through only this time in the opposite direction. The whole process took mere milliseconds to actually accomplish, but in his mind it felt like an eternity. Aurdel landed back on his feet and kept charging towards Overhaul, much to his frustration. And so the attacks kept coming, all done by the increasingly angry Yakuza boss in a vain attempt to try and keep him from getting any closer. Eventually he launched up a huge wave of rock projectiles, flinging them in his direction. Some were the size of cannonballs, others were the size of cars. Size wasn’t the issue though, it was the fact that the air was now filled with them. Dodging them was difficult as nearly in every direction that he traveled there was something else that needed to be avoided.
"I told you to stay out of my way” The projectiles increased in speed, intensity and number. Each one was thrown at Aurdel in an attempt to skewer or crush him, but not a single one hit its mark. “Eri, tell me where you are so I can put all of this to an end!” He shouted, using Nemoto’s quirk to force her to answer. But what happened next was not something that neither Aurdel or Overhaul expected.
Midoriya launched out from the distance, his hair standing up in a bright tint. Eri held onto his back, secured with Mirio's red cape. Surrounding both of them was a green-blue corona effect, lightning crackled around them as what seemed like limitless energy poured out from the duo. Midoriya then kicked downward, launching he and Eri into the sky with a violent wind following in their wake, the shockwave air spreading out and kicking up a relative dust storm. In the blink all of the projectiles that had been in the air were blasted straight back down into the ground, and Midoriya had flown towards Overhaul’s main body. He reeled back his leg to kick again, this time aiming directly for Overhaul. And when he did, Aurdel was met with a sight to truly behold. He watched as Overhaul was thrown from the ground and straight up into the sky, chunks of flesh and stone being blown up from the kaiju body.
Overhaul tried to reform in mid-air, changing his form to have as many hands as possible and grab Midoriya to tear him apart. But the boy seemed to just have too much strength, punching air and causing shockwaves powerful enough to punch straight through the extra limbs. “Why can’t any of you… See the bigger picture?!” Aurdel was coming into close now, as Overhaul was falling back to the earth with Midoriya hot on his tail. “You have no vision for the future, I’ll tear down this diseased world!” The arms regrew, each one trying to swat Midoriya out of the air. None could hit their mark.
"Need a lift?” Mirio came launching out of seemingly somewhere, a smile on his face. Having fallen far enough into the ground he was able to launch back out at an incredible speed, grabbing Aurdel and essentially transferring the momentum to him in order to launch him up at Chisaki. In fact the height that he’d managed to launch him up to was impressive, and one that he hadn’t expected the boy to be capable of. But taking advantage of the situation himself towards Overhaul, going straight for his head. Midoriya did the same, the sun to his back casting a shadow on his face. The two of them then came down together, striking Overhaul in the face. In normal circumstances Aurdel’s punch would have been enough to knock the man out, but Midoriya’s blow was one to truly be in awe of. Overhaul was sent flying into the ground at an immense speed, kicking up dust and causing a minor tremor upon the moment of impact
Aurdel locked his armor as he fell before landing on the, standing up the moment that his armor unlocked once more. These guys were down for sure now, but there was only one thing that he could do to make sure that Overhaul did present the same threat ever again. Aurdel walked over and placed his hand on Overhaul’s forehead, feeling the transfer of the quirk take place. Then once he knew that it was done he separated the three Yakuza members into the individual people once again, restraining them.
Aftermath
Before he was forced to explain himself, Aurdel used his newly acquired quirk to assist in the search and restoration efforts of the area that had seen much destruction in the fight. Almost half of the neighborhood was completely annihilated, the rest some severe to serious damage. Luckily, though, there weren't any civilian casualties. Being a weekday meant that most people were at work, and those that had been at home were either evacuated early on or before the fight had gotten even worse. On their side there were several people with injuries. Hawks had an aneurysm, Amajiki had been injured in a fight with three Yakuza members, Kirishima had severe damage done to his skin on across his arms and some minor fractures, Fat Gum had a broken rib alongside major bruising and the loss of all his fat stores, Rock Lock had several trauma wounds, Eraserhead had a stab wound and temporary minor hearing loss, a number of police were seriously injured, Mirio had minor injuries, Uraraka, Asui, Nejire and Ryukyu had to be rehydrated with electrolytes intravenously, Tokoyami had minor injuries and Nighteye had some small scrapes. As for the Yakuza, many of them were injured due to actively resisting police and Hero efforts and having to be essentially beaten into submission
But there was one case of injuries that became incredibly odd upon being looked into, and that was of Midoriya and Eri. As it turned out the surge in Midoriya power had come from Midoriya’s quirk, something that they’d first mislabeled. They’d thought that it was simply a quirk that could destroy other quirks, but in truth it was a quirk that allowed for the rewinding of the human body. It’d only been the express goal of Chisaki to use that power to make the quirk destroying bullets, and not the actual quirk itself. And as it turned out, Midoriya was the only one that could have carried her. Due to the full output of his power breaking his bones and causing his body serious damage, it meant that the quirk was focused on rewinding those wounds instead of rewinding him into nothing. That’s actually why he’d taken Eri from Hawks, as her power had caused him to have the aneurysm.
However there was the elephant in the room, one that could not be ignored. “That quirk you have, it's All For One's," Nighteye stated.
"It is."
"Why didn't you tell us?" Midoriya asked.
"I didn't know I had this power until a few days ago, and even then I wasn’t sure what to make of it until today when Nemoto tried to make me reveal the power I had." Aurdel looked down at his hand, "This doesn't change anything. I'm still the same person."
"It changes a lot," Nighteye affirmed, "Quirks are complicated, you should know this by now. They aren’t akin to some part of a computer or machine you can swap in or out with different purposes. Taking a quirk and transplanting it into a different person would leave an imprint of the original owner, something that’s not found in hereditary quirks passed from parent to child.”
Midoriya seemed to pick up from there, "And One For All is like that, transferred from person to person. I was able to see the previous users of One For All in a vision, the ones who passed it on."
"Then I'll finish your assumption and say that you think All For One is inside my head." He gave a tired sigh, "If he's in my head, then he hasn't made himself known. And if you think that he’ll be able to control me, he won’t."
"How can you know that for sure?"
"He just won't. Part of our training involved mental conditioning to keep other people from probing into our heads. And so long as there’s no quirk to remotely control me, it means that he’ll be stuck with mind games. Something I can win at." He folded his arms, "Besides, if we’re going to work under the assumption that having someone hidden in a quirk like this allows them to take over a new body, then why hasn't it happened to him?" He gestured towards Midoriya. "You've had your quirk for much longer than I've had mine, but you're still completely in control of yourself."
"I guess you're right…" Midoriya said, "But you still have the quirk of the most dangerous and evil Villains to ever exist. Not to mention, you now have Overhaul’s quirk too."
"I can understand the concern, but I can handle it. Even if they do somehow manage to try and take over, then just take solace in the fact that I know how to put an end to it.” He brandished the gun he had with him, pointing it at himself to emphasize just what he meant. After that he stowed the weapon away. “Ultimately it’s better to take these powerful abilities away from Villains rather than to let them keep them in prison. I can already think of a number of things I can use them for to help people.”
“Like what?”
“Well, for starters…”
"Breaking News from the world of Heroes!" The newscaster said, "We finally have an answer to what all that commotion this morning was about. In one of the residential districts a joint raid by the police and a number of Heroes took place, targeting the Yakuza clan known as the Shie Hassaikai. Over five hundred individual Yakuza members were arrested, among them being the young Yakuza clan head Kai Chisaki and the former boss. The raid was in response to the gangs increasing prominence in the drug trade, creating and distributing the quirk enhancing drug known as trigger among other drugs. Taking part in the raid were some of the nations top Heroes and agencies, such as Nighteye, Fat Gum, Hawks, Ryukyu and, of course, the recently debuting Spartan. During the fight to secure the Yakuza hideout a large deal of damage was dealt to the surrounding area, following the rampage of the Yakuza boss. However, it has been curiously noted that almost all of the damage that happened as a result of the fight between Yakuza members and Heroes was quickly repaired, something that we can’t say has ever happened before with fights on this scale.” Another person briefly came in view of the camera, stepping over to whisper into the newscaster's ear. "W-W-Well listeners! We have some even more pressing breaking news for you! According to press statements released by several Hero agencies, a number of pro-Heroes will be returning to active public duty. They include Endeavor, Edgeshot and Mt. Lady, having made a near miraculous recovery after what seemed like a long period of uncertainty. It's not known at this time what allowed them to so suddenly recover, however I feel that I speak on behalf of many when I say that having these pros back on the streets is for the best. So whoever helped those Heroes recover, we-" Aurdel turned off the TV.
"Never did I think that I would ever see All For One's evil powers used for a truly good purpose," All Might said. He laid back in the chair, “The moment most people knew they had a power like that, they would begin doing as All For One did. Performing evil deeds for the sake of evil and taking quirks just to increase their power. But you didn’t."
"Despite how dubious it may seem at times, I do have a moral code. I try to help anyone I can in any way I can, no matter what it may be. Besides, I felt a little guilty after that fight with All For One. They walked away injured and without their power while I walked away with barely a scratch on me."
"I suppose that would make as good a reason as any," All Might said, a slight grin on his face.
"What about you? I could heal your wounds, you could even go back to being a Hero."
"Young Midoriya told you about them, didn't he? You can heal my wounds, but I can’t go back to being a pro-Hero. No one can do something forever, and at some point sooner or later I was going to have to retire. I feel the way it all happened was the best for all involved." He sighed, "Even if I did, the quirk that I passed on to Midoriya wouldn't come back to me. It doesn't work like that."
"I could try and have the quirk analyzed, then duplicate it so that it would function at the same level. I would need to brush up on my genetics though, since I still don’t fully understand how quirk genetics work yet."
"Like I said, even if I wanted to keep going I would have to still give it up eventually. It’s not like there’s anything wrong with teaching the next generation of Heroes instead." He smiled, "Besides, I myself don't fully understand how One For All works. You’d have to talk to Midoriya to try and figure it out."
"I suppose you're right," he stood up, "But you don’t have any objections to having your body repaired, do you? I won't be doing it to myself, but only for personal reasons."
"Personal reasons?"
"I have an artificial leg, one that I received when I was younger because my real leg was disfigured during training. Theoretically now I could get rid of it and try to replace it with a real one, but I won’t. I keep it as a sort of reminder for the future.”.
"I can understand your own hesitation then, but for me the situation is different. I need to help Midoriya to reach his potential as a Hero, and I can only do that if I'm in my best shape possible."
"Then you'll do it?”
"Yes, I will."
"Alright then, this will just take a moment."

Tempest Rogue
This story follows Auron, a man who has been plagued with vivid nightmares his entire life. While running away from a beating, a splitting headache causes him to fall to his knees. Once again his nightmares bleed into reality. The next "episode" he has brings him from the scene of his nightmare, to a posionous swamp. To make matters worse his memories from earth are fading, and these nightmares that plagued his childhood, filled with darkness and a red coocoon, are back and worse than ever. As he clings to the only memories he has left, he is forced to fight through a world of brutal blood thirsty monsters, dungeons, and a complex magic system governed by an ancient agreement. First time writing any sort of story. Everything is still a work in progress. As I improve on my writing I will go back and edit parts. Early chapters are subject to change as I grow my ability. I am going to try my best to write this world and improve as I go. My goal is to make my dream come to life through the medium of text. This is why I wanted to post it here. Feel free to comment, and bring constructive criticism. Hope you enjoy! More info (Spoiler warning): only read if you are picky, read a lot, and want to waste no time with a story you may not want read. This book is a litrpg. This means it contains stat tables, and other game elements. (Which you may gloss over if you would like) It is written in a fantasy world, in the style of a progression fantasy. The main character grows in power as the story plays out. My characters are written to my best ability, but you may find them immature. The MC has to adjust to fighting, and killing which he struggles with for a while. His partner is a magical salamander who is a friend and mentor. The world building, monsters, and descriptions are also low tier. (I am working hard to change that!) If you are okay reading something by someone who is just getting started then welcome! I am doing my best, and incrementally improving as I go.
8 189Dungeoneers
In an alternate world, instead of the pandemic, a different worldwide problem occurred. The outbreak of the first dungeons. Strange monsters appeared out of the sudden, mysterious portals. While modern human weapons were capable of dealing with the initial outbreak, only special individuals, later known as Dungeoneers could deal with them through the use of special skills and abilities.
