《Boku No Halo Academia: Rising Conflict》Chapter 9: On the Attack

Detour

As much as Aurdel had wanted to intercept and spy on the Yakuza by following their paths, he’d likely lost his chance. That attack by those CIA agents had both delayed him and caused commotion, meaning that the Yakuza had most likely become aware of his presence, his investigation and intentions. And as such, they’d immediately gotten out of the area and begun to change their routes dramatically to keep him off of their scent. And Aurdel knew for sure that he would have gotten them, as when he went down into the underground he’d found that it’d been completely rearranged. New tunnels existed where they hadn’t before, and old ones had disappeared completely. Chisaki had been through here, and he’d used his quirk. He silently cursed under his breath, damned CIA. His reprisal would have to be something severe for something like this. But at the very least, it didn’t seem like everything was for naught. Because as it turned out Midoriya had used the tracker that he’d given him. He’d only noticed it after he’d beaten up those thugs, the silent alarm triggering in his suit with a waypoint. Not wanting to go into the situation unprepared, he’d have to go find Midoriya and Mirio and ask them what had happened. So he walked down the sidewalk and back in the direction of Nighteye’s agency. With his head down no one paid him any mind, just another Hero walking by. “Someone, help!” A voice shouted, his head darted upward in response. After searching for its origin he ran down one of the opposing streets, being careful in avoiding any civilians that happened to be running in the opposite direction. The place that he found himself in front of was a bank, police sirens approaching from off in the distance. Gunshots could also be heard as armed men stood on the steps of the bank, firing shots towards the crowd to ward off the dozens of civilians that were still present.

“Crap, I didn’t expect that a Hero would get here so fast!” One of the men shouted, wielding a Type 89 rifle and firing off a few rounds in his direction. Aurdel ducked behind a concrete barrier, bullets impacting on the slab in front of him and debris kicking up. Aurdel pulled his Beretta out of its holster and peeked around the barrier, firing three rounds toward the man. All three hit. One in the knee, the gut and the shoulder. Until he could issue a warning for lethal force, he’d have to fire non-lethal shots. As the man fell over and dropped his rifle Aurdel charged out from behind the concrete, bringing his gun against the second man

“Damnit…!” The second man grunted, ducking back behind the pillar as Aurdel fired a bullet into his thigh. He went opposite of him, waiting for him to pop out. “You’re screwed Hero, you hear me?! We outnumber you twenty to one!” Bluff or not, those weren’t very good odds… For them. The man popped out from behind the rifle, but was slow on the draw with his rifle. Aurdel fired twice through the receiver of the weapon, causing serious damage to it. When the Villain tried to fire the rifle it resulted in a catastrophic failure, blowing up in his hands.

“Come on!” A man inside of the bank shouted, “Set it up, set it up!” There was a stampede of footsteps inside of the bank, the sound of metal as well with the racking of bolts of weapons. Among them was the easily recognizable sound of a fifty cal being racked and ready to fire. He went back to the first man he’d shot, grabbing his rifle and ammo before sneaking his way to the bank entrance and hiding behind a wall. With his motion tracker he could detect that there were about twelve men in the bank main hall, the rest were presumably attempting to get into the vault. A quick glance through the window allowed him to get an idea of their positions. One the next floor he could see the machine gun. One was manning it, another was supplying ammo. The remaining ten were scattered between the first and second floors, each of them taking a position that had good firing lines on the bank entrance. None of them fired though, they were waiting for him to walk in first. Aurdel turned up the audio output on his helmet speakers..

“Attention Villains, this is pro-Hero Spartan. I am speaking to you now because I am offering you the chance to surrender now and give yourself up. I am not like other Heroes, and I am willing to use deadly force to stop you. If you wish to protect your lives then I suggest that you give yourself up.”

“Shit, it’s that guy?!” One of the criminals said, lowering his weapon from the door. “Guys, I think we might be in over our heads with this job. You saw what he did to the other gangs, we don’t stand a chance! We gotta give up.”

“What the hell are you saying, give up now?!” Another man shouted back at him, “We’ve been planning this score for months, we can’t just give up now!”

“Yeah!” Another protested, “That piece of shit ‘Hero’ iced my buddy, I’m getting my revenge!”

“Well you guys do whatever you want, I’m getting out of here alive!” The man who’d become weary tossed down his guns with a clatter, two others doing the same as they ran from their positions and ran for the main door. As they ran their comrades went to fire on them, so Aurdel quickly jumped out and pushed the three men out of the line of fire and into cover. His shields lit up from taking a few bullets.

He shoved them down, “Now stay here and wait for the police, or else you’re going to be going to the same place that the rest of them are going.” Aurdel leapt out into the line of fire with the rifle he’d picked up, lining up his shot before opening fire. He first ripped five rounds through the box mag on the side of the machine gun, causing an ammo detonation that blew up the two men who were manning the weapon. He then pivoted and kept firing, gunning down the two remaining men on the first floor. He went forward, rolling behind two desks and using them as cover. Only five remained in the main hall, and he didn’t expect them to go without a fight.

“You! Use your quirk and flush him out!” One of the Villains shouted, and a hail of bullets ripped through the two desks that he was concealed behind. This was then followed up by literal fire, as one of the VIllains charged forward and his quirk to spray flames in his direction. He popped back out with a reloaded beretta in his other hand, putting a bullet through the man’s head. After that he moved to attack the rest of the men, charging towards the stairs.

“Screw this, I’m going to the boss and defending the vault!” One of the Villains said, another following him. As Aurdel reached the top of the stairs he found that two of the men had dropped their weapons and surrendered, while the other two men ran. He pivoted and fired at the two running men, injuring the first but gunning down the second who’d managed to slam the panic button that shut access to the vault before going down. He’d deal with them, he just had to make sure the others would stay put.

“Don’t attack, we surrender!”

“Smart,” He tossed them a line of rope he’d begun carrying, “Tie yourselves up for the police.”

“Y-yes sir!” The two men quickly respond, turning around and beginning to tie each other up. After that he ran back in the direction of where the other man had gone, finding himself stopped by a security door. It was magnetically locked to the ground and walls, and in any normal set of circumstances it was something that would be hard to overcome. But it was nothing he couldn’t handle. Placing his hand on the door, he discharged his energy shield. The electric charge from his shield was enough to overload the system that kept it locked down, meaning that all it was now was just a heavy metal door. He then wedged his fingers between the door and the ground, slowly starting to lift it up before managing to get proper leverage. After that he was able to easily throw the door open, charging in and following the trail of blood from the injured man. Gun in hand he peered around the corner, a hail of bullets looking to gun him down for his troubles.

“There’s no way for you to get us, asshole!” One of the Villains shouted, “So give up now, and we might let you leave.”

“If you think that I’m the one in a bad position you’re sorely mistaken. You’re sitting inside of a bank vault that, while highly defensible, has no secondary exit. Your only way out is through me, and even if you somehow do manage that there will be a small army of policemen and Heroes outside waiting to take you down. Last chance to stand down.”

“W-We’ll manage, you don’t know what we got with us!” One of the Villains began using his quirk, slowly filling the vault with smoke in an attempt to obscure his vision

“Maybe not, but I know you’re inside a bulletproof bank vault. I also know how to ricochet a bullet.” With his shields back up he reloaded, then charged out of cover and opened fire with the rifle he’d taken.

“Shit!” Their boss shouted, the group of Villains opening fire in response. He heard two men go down from the ricocheting bullets, so he quickly changed his tactics and wielded both weapons now. As he entered the vault itself he turned on his helmet's floodlights, blinding everyone in the room and he opened fire. Full automatic fire took down four of the Villains hiding on his left side, three bullets from his beretta took down three Villains on his right.

Out of ammo with the rifle he threw it at one the last one standing, before firing three times and landing each of his against his stomach. This one would live, he needed him to live in order to get a message across. “W-what kind of god damned Hero are you?! You killed them all!” The man clutched his stomach with pain, blood pouring out on top of his clothes.

Aurdel walked around, policing the ammo and weapons that were strewn about the vault. He’d come down on them so fast that they’d hadn’t even had the chance to open any of the deposit boxes, all of the money was still where it was supposed to be. “I gave your friends their chance to surrender, it was their choice to not take it. As for you,” he walked over and picked up the injured man by the back of the neck, “Dead men tell no tales, so you’re going to live.” The man groaned with pain as Aurdel dragged him out of the bank vault and into the atrium where police were waiting, armed with automatic weapons aimed in his direction.

The police chief stepped forward, they lowered their weapons. “What’s the situation?” The officers had already taken away the Villains that had surrendered, collecting all the weapons that were being used

He handed over the injured man, “The situation has been resolved, the robbers in the vault are dead.”

“Dead?! Damnit, haven’t you heard of these things called rules of engagement?” The police chief said in a scolding manner, “We’re supposed to take them in, not kill them on the spot.”

“Rules of engagement mean nothing when the men you’re fighting have no intention to surrender. They had no intention to surrender, and I wasn’t about to let a group of young officers be ordered to charge in and senselessly slaughtered because of an outdated and ineffective set of rules,” he said, rebuffing the police chief. “Learn to value the lives of your men, you can handle the situation from here.”

Aurdel walked through the streets and back to the front door of Nighteye’s agency. From there he looked in, seeing Mirio and Midoriya speaking to Nighteye in the lobby. The two boys were supposed to be on their patrol, but given the looks on their faces he knew that something bad had happened. He wasn’t one to make a quick assumption though, so he’d ask them himself. Aurdel pushed open the door and walked in, “You two are back early, how did things go?” The two towards him..

“Not… Not as well as we wanted it to,” Midoriya said.

“Sir decided that we should come back to help with some paperwork, we ran into something we didn’t want to.”

He narrowed his eyes, “Bush beating is for politicians, what happened?”

“We ran into the Shie Hassaikai leader, Chisaki.”

“Was he the one that you put the tracker on?”

“No, I didn’t. There was a young girl with him by the name of Eri. She was the one that I put the tracker on.” He went silent. “He said that she was his daughter, but she was horribly afraid of him. With all the bandages that she had on her arms and legs, I’m sure that he was abusing her.” His rage simmered.

“I’ll slit that bastard's throat,” Aurdel clenched his fist.

“Huh?! What’s with the sudden aggression?! I understand that he is abusing his daughter but I didn’t think that you-“

He looked at Nighteye, “How much did you tell them about the current situation.”

“Nothing that they didn’t need to know, I didn’t want them acting irrationally and getting into a situation they couldn’t win.”

“What’s going on…?” Midoriya asked, lost in the conversation.

He looked at Midoriya, “Nighteye asked me to work with him because the Shie Hassakai were presenting a greater threat through larger numbers and an expanded drug trade. On the day that you were taking your licensing exam, I got a hold of a sample of the drugs they were circulating. A bullet that destroys quirks.” That revelation alone startled the two students, but he continued. “The bullets used the ability of a quirk to break down quirks, as such it was made from human blood and tissue. The blood and tissue of a young girl.” Upon making the connection, their faces had looks of horror on them. Mirio, presumably being the one to advise letting her go for now, looked the most guilty, Midoriya meanwhile was trembling so much that he needed to sit down.

”How…? Why…?” Midoriya fumbled over his words, “What are we supposed to do?” His voice was barely above a whimper.

Nighteye spoke, “Charging in blindly isn’t the answer to this problem, I advised them not to follow because Chisaki could have easily killed the both of them.

“I won’t disparage you for that, but letting a girl go back to her abuser is not something I can condone.” He looked back at his set of maps, comparing the location of the tracker. “They’re taking her back to the Shie Hassaikai’s main headquarters, it’ll be swarming with Yakuza underlings

“Then… We’ll have to call in more Heroes.”

“I already have,” Nighteye said, “Originally I called together Heroes from across the country to further expand our search for the location that Eri was being held at, but now that we know where she is those other Heroes will be used to tighten the noose around the Shie Hassaikai and remove all of its wealth and power at the same time.”

“Chiaki is going to be a problem to deal with in close quarters combat. If anyone comes close to him, one touch from his quirk is enough to leave them dead.”

“That is why I also called in Eraserhead, from your school. He will be there to erase his quirk and leave him open to being restrained.”

“Chisaki is going to find that tracker on her eventually. And when he does, he’ll know that someone is coming after him. And if he doesn’t leave and go on the run then he’s going to pull every favor he can to make sure this raid you’re planning will be a failure.

“I’m afraid that I’m inclined to agree with your opinion. However, we will not fail.” Nighteye fixed his glasses, “Preparation can overcome all adversity, no matter how great. And we will take the time to do so.”

Open Playbook

Two days passed in between their meeting and the final gathering of Heroes for the attack on the Shie Hassaikai main compound, Aurdel had mixed feelings about it all. Strategically he knew that biding their time and planning out the attack on the Yakuza was advantageous. He himself was a strategist and knew the value of patience. On the other hand, it felt ethically dubious to allow Eri to remain with the Yakuza and continue being tortured solely because of fact that they were going to rescue her. Personal sacrifice was something he held in high regard, but it wasn’t something that he felt a child should be forced to endure. He had his own personal reasons for that. However there were also some additional gripes he had with the plan, specifically relating to some of the taking part in the raid “I still don’t think it’s a good idea for all of you to be here,” Aurdel said with his arms folded, “Midoriya and Mirio I can understand, since they were involved and felt personally responsible there was no to stop them from coming with us. But the rest of you joining us is some additional risk I can hardly accept.”

“We can handle ourselves,” Kirishima said, jerking a thumb towards himself, “Besides, if this guy really is as sick as you say he is, then I want to make sure he gets put behind bars.”

“That’s right!” Uraraka said, “And if we’re going to become better Heroes then we can’t turn back on something just because it might be a little dangerous. The more we fight the more we improve!”

“Somehow I don’t believe that all it is, especially with you.”

“H-huh?! W-what do you mean?!” Uraraka said, her face turning a flush red. “I-I mean! I also don’t want to see any of my classmates get hurt, that’s why I’m coming!” Right, he knew who she specifically wanted to protect. He wouldn’t embarrass her though..

“Either way I know that if I tried to stop any of you from getting involved now that it wouldn’t work. So even if my instincts say otherwise, I won’t. Just stay within arms reach.”

“Huh, that's just about what I was going to tell them,” Eraserhead said, his voice tired. He pulled out a small bottle of eye drops and squeezed out a few onto his eye.

“Hey, don’t sweat it tough guy. Between you and me there won’t be any reason to worry,” one of the Heroes said, Hawks. Because of the drastic circumstances Nighteye has felt the need to call upon the number one Hero in the country. Or at least, the Hero who had unofficially taken number one on the billboards. Personally he didn’t feel like the man was number one Hero material, and given some of the initial hesitance that Nighteye had displayed after meeting the man the feeling was probably mutual between the two of them. Hawks didn’t act like he didn’t notice it though, “So chin up, and let ‘em loose.”

“You fill me with confidence,”Aurdel’s response was thick with sarcasm, the response got a sly grin from Hawks. Tokoyami simply closed his eyes and shook his head at seeing the two of them interact like this.

“Attention everyone,” the police chief said, the voices of all the Heroes in front of the station idly chatting quieted down. “As of this morning, we acquired warrant for the arrest of Kai Chisaki and the authority to search the property of the Shie Hassakai. This is likely the only time we will ever have the chance to do so. If we mess this up then there will be no future chances to stop the Yakuza or their new drug from being produced and expanded. Heroes with the Hawks, Nighteye and Fatgum agency will be at the front, Ryukyu’s agency will be covering the rear with the other Heroes. Between you will be us, we will be in your care.” The man looked at a watch on his wrist, “We have thirty minutes remaining before the operation will begin, make any final preparations in that time.”

Aurdel looked over his gear, double checking everything that he had. He had his magnum, a beretta, several magazines for both weapons, two combat knives, several tear gas grenades courtesy of the police, handcuffs, his medical trauma kit, a frag grenade, rope, breaching charges and several flashbangs.

“I thought the police told you to go in non-lethally?” Eraserhead asked, raising an eyebrow at his choice of kit.

“I am going in non-lethally,” he responded, pulling out a magazine for the beretta and showcasing one of the bullets. “Stun rounds, handmade. If the first doesn’t put you down, the second and third will. They’re designed to cause as much pain as possible, overwhelming the nervous system and knocking the target out.”

“Sounds like it’d be illegal to use…”

“Probably, but I’m a firm believer that you can only enforce the big laws by breaking the little ones,” Eraserhead held out a paper, Aurdel took it and looked it over. A list of all the known members of the Shie Hassakai and their registered quirks. Useful. With one last check of his he was ready. “Let’s do this.”

“Police! We have a warrant out to search your property for drug production and distribution!” The police chief shouted, standing in front of the buzzer that sat next to the gate to the compound.

His motion tracker lit up, “Get back!” Aurdel shouted, dragging two officers out of the way. Midoriya and Eraserhead also pulled a number of the officers out of the way, bringing them to safety as a large Villain busted through to attack.

“Police… This early in the morning…? The large Yakuza member yawned. “What do you want?”

“Don’t let him act first, take him down!” He shouted. Ryukyu rapidly transformed into her dragon form, tackling the Villain to the ground and holding him down

“We’ll hold him here!” Ryukyu said, “Get inside and find that girl!” Without a second thought they charged into the complex, himself being the first in followed by Mirio and Midoriya Inside the courtyard were a large number of Yakuza thugs, most running out from inside the main building to confront them.

“Heroes?! Shit!” One of them shouted, raising his hand. The leaves of a nearby bush began shooting through the air like knives in their direction.

“Shoot Style: Smash!” Midoriya brought his leg up and kicked, causing a strong enough pressure air blast that sent all of the leaf blades back towards the thug. Mirio meanwhile went forward, phasing through one of the thugs before attacking him from behind. When a nearby thug tried to fight Aurdel hand to hand he grabbed him by the arm, twisting it behind his back before pivoting behind him to use him as a human shield. After that he opened fire on the Yakuza thugs. And the stun rounds were certainly effective, with every single bullet knocking out a different thug. After emptying the magazine he shoved his shield forward, giving him a pistol whip for his efforts. The courtyard was temporarily cleared, leaving them free to push into the house. Over a dozen more of the thugs were present inside, but they were quickly restrained by the number of Heroes that came with them .

“How are we supposed to get to the basement?” Midoriya asked, “I don’t see any doors that lead to a lower level.”

“That’s the point, they thrive by working in the shadows and the unexpected.” Aurdel stopped at an inlet on the right side wall, a shrine dedicated to the Yakuza and its many members past and present. Normally disturbing something like this would be sacrilegious

Aurdel slammed his fist through the wall. First it met paper and wood, but then soon met metal. With that he knew for sure that this was where it was being hidden. He discharged his shield to overload the lock, throwing the hidden door. Behind it had been three Yakuza waiting to ambush them, though that was halted as he leapt forward and tackled all three down the long set of stairs they stood on. “Downstairs, as quick as you can!” He and the three thugs landed at the bottom of the stairs, the three men groaning in agony from the fall before being summarily restrained. They were in the underground now.

“Nighteye, this path was supposed to be clear! What kind of research did you do?!” Rock Lock asked aloud.

Aurdel got up and started running, “It’s a fake wall, don’t stop! Midoriya, Kirishima!”

“Got it! Smash!”

“Red Gauntlet!” The two charged forward and smashed through the concrete wall that had been built in their path to confuse their efforts. And if something like this had just been made, it means that they were on the right track to find Chisaki. And where they found Chisaki, they found Eri..

They charged through. “Don’t let them make the next move!” No Yakuza thugs were in sight, they hadn’t expected them to get this far this quickly. That was when things changed

“Woah!” The walls, floor and ceiling of the basement began to shift, acting more like ocean waves hitting a shore. But they weren’t breaking apart and reforming, which meant that this wasn’t from Chisaki’s quirk.

“It’s Irinaka, he’s using trigger to amplify his quirk!” Aurdel quickly looked around, making a decision. “Mirio, you and me are going to make sure that Chisaki doesn’t get away”

“Roger!” The blonde boy said, managing to steady himself among the shaky ground.

“Midoriya, Tokoyami, Kirishima, stay with them and keep the walls off their backs!”

“They won’t get close!” Tokoyami said, unleashing Dark Shadow to hold the walls in place.

“Hawks, you better keep your word!” He shouted, before running forward with Mirio towards the end of the hallway where the distortions were becoming less and less distorted.

“I already told you, don’t worry!” Aurdel ran ahead of Mirio given the conditions, diving through a number of holes of ever decreasing size as Mimic used the walls to try and crush him in order to keep him away from Chisaki. But he was determined, he wasn’t going to let these guys escape. He physically busted his way through one concrete wall that he didn’t have enough room to jump through, scratching some of his armor’s paint and bringing down his shields. But eventually the walls stopped shifting entirely, they were getting close to Chisaki and Mimic didn’t want to risk crushing his boss. They turned the corner.

“Stop him before he can get a move in!” Aurdel knew that Mirio would attack from the side, he was counting on it .

“So you’re the new Hero…” Chisaki said, stopping and turning to have a glance at him. The man in the white robe next him also stopped. “You’re strong, especially if you could get past Mimic. But I won’t have you stop my plans while they’re so close to fruition.” Aurdel stumbled briefly as he came under the effect with a quirk, one that made him feel incredibly dizzy.

“Don’t worry Overhaul,” a man hanging from the ceiling with a bottle of beer in hand said, “We’ll stop ‘em here.”

“That’s right,” a fourth man dressed in a black robe said. He raised a handgun, “The boss’ plans will see the light of day, I myself have seen them.” He fired several times at Aurdel, but bullets were easy enough to avoid even with the dizziness slightly inhibiting him.

“How are you moving like that? You should be just as drunk as I am!” The man hanging from the ceiling exclaimed. Aurdel had experienced far worse in training and space combat, something like this wasn’t enough to stop his

“Perhaps he has a unique quirk, one we don’t know about.” The man in the black robes said, “Why don’t you tell us what your quirk is?” Aurdel remembered this guy from the list, he was the one that could make anyone speak using his quirk. Even if the question asked for something the person didn’t know for sure or buried deep inside them, it would still be answered with the truth. All in all it was a strong ability, but one that only gave benefit if it’s user could hear the answer. Aurdel activated the soundproofing of his helmet, shut off his microphone and shut off the armor’s speakers. Nemoto wouldn’t be able to hear anything from him.

“I have two quirks. The first is All For One, given to me by the namesake, and it grants me the ability to take quirks upon making physical contact and choosing to take them. The second is Flashbang, and it allows me to produce blinding explosions of light from my hands. It was taken from the operative that tried to kidnap me.” Nobody could hear anything Aurdel had said except for him, and that was a good thing. However, it unfortunately confirmed his fear. He had been given a power by All For One after all, and he’d taken that woman’s quirk.

“Not answering? How?” The man in black robes was confused, “No, wait! That other Hero-!” Nemoto was interrupted as Mirio attacked from the wall, knocking Sakaki off of the ceiling and attacking the two Yakuza members at the same time.

“Ultimate Move: Phantom Menace!” Mirio punched rapidly with lightning quick movements, there was quite literally no time for them to fight back. Aurdel then dealt them finishing blows, slamming the two into the ground.

“How annoying,” Chisaki said, “You’re diseased but you don’t even know it or refuse to acknowledge it.” Mirio disappeared into the floor, Aurdel charged forward. “Fortunately I have the cure. I will rid this world of quirks and the Hero complex that they brought upon us, then things will go back to the natural order as they were meant to be!” Chisaki tore off his left glove and placed his hand on the floor, shattering the concrete beneath their feet into an array of smaller chunks that began to reform. Large concrete spikes soon came his way. Aurdel fired his Beretta at Chisaki, who brought back a number of the spikes to keep the stun rounds from hitting him. The other ones didn’t abandon their target though, and Aurdel smashed his leg through one of the concrete straight through one of them. He then began weaving around them, occasionally using them as footholds to move forward towards Chisaki. Mirio then reappeared from the ground behind Chisaki, catching him off guard. He phased through Chisaki’s outstretched hands, punching the Yakuza boss in the face and throwing him back. Mirio pivoted and attacked Chrono, initially making it look like that his kick would strike Eri but instead phasing through and striking Chorono in the head with his boot. Eri fell from his hands and fell into Mirio

Chisaki stood back up, swiping in Mirio’s direction, but missed as he moved back. His eyes were filled with rage and spots appeared in his face. “Give her back! Someone like you wouldn’t know what to do with a valuable asset like her!”

“How can you say such a vile thing about your daughter?!” Mirio shouted back.

“Right, I told you that when you found me,” Chisaki slid the second glove off of his hands. “I have no daughter.” He slammed his palm onto the ground, shattering several feet of foundation and stone. The walls and floor shifted around all of them, changing the small and confining hallways into a large open arena. Pipes and wiring that were connected to the various houses in the neighborhood fell as they became unsupported, the move had even broken into an active sewer system. “There is nowhere for you Heroes to run. The entrances and exits are gone, and if you try to phase through the wall you’ll leave the girl here. You have no choice but to-“

“Not a chance,” Aurdel shot back, then literally. He fired another full magazine of stun rounds towards Chisaki since he was the greatest threat in the room, but he raised several new spikes to block the bullets coming his way

“Then you will die defending the tiny sense of justice you hold so dear!” Chisaki shouted, spikes chasing towards them from nearly every direction. Mirio moved around, using his quirk to avoid the spikes while still holding Eri out of reach from the threats. Aurdel crashed through the spikes he could, avoiding others. Waves of rubble began to pile up, Chisaki raised and lowered parts of the floor. “Chrono!”

“Watch out!” Aurdel shoved Mirio out of the way, the quirk erasing bullet bouncing off of his armor.

“Neither of you should be able to move so quickly,” Chrono said, “Sloshed should still be having some manner of effect on you!”

“I’ve dealt with far worse!” Mirio said. He looked at Aurdel, giving. He knew what he was going to do. Mirio couldn’t take Eri through the walls, but he could close the distance and hit Chisaki without being struck himself. He threw his cape up into the air, concealing himself and Eri. Aurdel then rushed over, catching Eri inside of the cape as Mirio phased through the ground unseen by the Yakuza.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got you,” he soothingly said to the young girl clinging to the cape and his armor. It reminded him of a few years back, where he’d done and said something quite similar…

Mirio sprung up from the ground a distance away, “If you had the chance to use your quirk it would be quite a problem, so I’m going to take you out of this fight! Power!” Mirio slammed into Chrono, dealing another blow to his head sufficient to knock him out. The man’s mask went flying from his face as he toppled over. “Chisaki!”

“Don’t call me by that name, I’ve thrown it away! I am Overhaul!” The Yakuza shouted at the top of his lungs. Jagged spikes came from every direction and threatened to impale them at every possible angle. “The state that I take Eri back in doesn’t matter, I’m the only one that can have her and heal her! You don’t have that luxury!” The fight raged on as the world seemed to collapse around them.
