She felt as if she was nothing under his psychotic gaze.

"Who do we have here?" He says with a dark smirk, but it instantly is replaced with an ice-cold snarl.

"And what are you doing spying on us." Francis squats down so he is eye to eye with his soon to be next victim.

Before anyone could react, he grabs her throat and slams her on the wall of the hallway. Eyes wide and full of murder. His wings caved around Leila making her struggle against his grasp more, fearing for her life.

"I-I'm sorry." Was all she could gasp out before a hand yanked her away from him. She was shivering but when she looked up to her helper, she stumbled away as she saw bright blue eyes staring back at her.

"Leila..." Valery said softly, trying to step forward to her friend but she held up her hands stopping her in her tracks.

"Your eyes." She stammered, finger trembling as it pointed to her blue eyes, her deep brown ones no more. "Who are you?"

Valery thinned her lips and uncurled her fists, letting her old contacts fall to the floor.

"Let me explain-" was all Valery could say before there was a loud beep behind the trio.

Valery's eyes moved to the source, only to dilate as she saw Tyler, a phone in hand. He stares back at her, shock covered his face and started to sprint down the hallway away from them and doomed feelings washed over her, but she didn't feel scared for herself, she felt scared for Tyler, and what Francis would do to him. As if Francis knew what she was thinking, he was in front of Tyler within a second, making him stumble in fear and fall over.

The receiver on the other end of the call started shouting as the phone slipped out of his hand, but it was too late when it was crushed by Francis's force. "It's alright if I call you Ty right?" he asks, sounding serious for a second, but after his pause he howls with laughter, stepping closer but when Tyler tries to crawl away, it's too late.

Francis has crouched over him, and throws punches into his face left to right, making blood burst from his lip, nose and skin. Valery's heart clenches as her ears are filled with the screams of Leila, the wicked cackles of Francis and sirens. Sirens.

"Francis." she croaked, and Leila turned to back to face her, the girl's expression full of betrayal but Valery must ignore her.

"FRANCIS" she yells, and he finally stops, looking up to his love but still crouched over a bloodied Tyler.

"WE NEED TO GO." she stressed "NOW!"

His senses finally kick in and he looks out the window to see the red and blue lights. He sighs causally and gets up, kicking his victim head like a rag doll. In a swoop of his wings, he's next to Valery and then they disappear, leaving Leila speechless and Tyler slipping in and out of consciousness.

I could feel the air escaping my body by the second. But I couldn't focus on that right now. All I wanted to do was save him now.

Leila and Tyler found out and they called the police. Tears escaped from my eyes as their shocked faces flashed in my mind. I betrayed them. My hand tightens on Francis's hand, and he squeezed back in reassurance, but I couldn't stop from shaking.

We rushed through the complex hallways, trying to find a safe exit out but it was all blocked with police blockades and armed policemen. The blue and red lights flashed out every window and I could soon here the screams of students. Francis finally stopped running, and I followed his actions, breathily harshly as I ran my hands through my hair.

"We need to go." I breath out quietly, but he still hears.

"We?" he says, his voice cracking and I straighten my back, looking at him softly. "I want to go back with you Francis." I say confidently and he stares at me in surprise.

He looks like he didn't believe it but a smile break onto his face when he realised, I wasn't joking.

He lifts me up and spins me around in his arms with the brightest smile on his face.

And for a spilt second, I almost forgot what was going on outside.

But as soon as there was a high-pitched ringing, we pulled away immediately and put our hands against our ears to try and block the painful sound out.

"Francis Whitelock, please exit the premise and nobody will need to be harmed." it was a staticky voice and I just stared out the window, not knowing want to do. I felt a presence push up behind me and could feel his warm breath pressing against neck as he leaned down to my ear. "Hide in the crowd." He orders and I turn my head to face his.

"What!?" I shout but he instead looks around to find the nearest hidden exit. "I am not leaving you." I demand seriously but he shakes his head and sighs, grabbing both of my shoulders and making me look at him directly.

"I just got you back Valentina- and I refuse to lose you go again." his voice is serious and deep, and this time, I know I must listen to him. Tears trickle down my face and I bite down on my lip to try to numb the pain.

I don't say anything as I back away from him and run to the exit, and he watches me run. When I reach the door, I hesitate, my hand felt as if I could turn the handle, but I knew that I had to.

For him.

My chest heaves as the sudden cold air outside and I quickly run into the crowd, holding my chest in pain and try to see where Francis was but a policeman stopped me as I reached the barricades where the police were all standing in a wall. "Sorry Ma'am but you can't come any closer than this, it's dangerous criminal we're dealing with."

I freeze and drag my eyes to glare at him, but stop myself, knowing that I need to remain calm. Calm. My breaths start to steady but it feels as if the world slows when I see him. Tears pour from my eyes endlessly as I stare at the door, begging him to turn around and leave himself out of this but he couldn't hear my silent pleads.

He was coming out of the building.

He exited the building, his hands held high, but head held low.

A wide smirk was already across his place as he was faced with at least three dozen policemen, but they all were fearful.

Francis's eyes wander around the crowd, and he smiles as he sees his Angel in the crowd, tears running down her face and he wanted to wipe them off, but before that he needed to get them out of the mess, they were in.

He stopped walking in the middle courtyard that this was taking place in.

It was quiet and he could feel everyone tense around him as he takes another step forward but stops and submerges his wings in his body, just in time to narrowly miss the sharp sedative that was shot at his right wing. It bounced off the wall behind him and went down to the floor, this just making his smile spread to his cheeks, but not in a good way.

"Missed me." He teases but that was the only thing to be heard after there was something thrown into the middle of the two groups. Smoke grenades.

Unfazed, Francis stared at the grenade in front of him as the smoke was blown around and the police force and the criminal were submerged into unknowing. The police charging into the cloud and trying to take him down, but they didn't counter in one fact; it was like a walk in a field for Francis.

His eyes were specially modified, and this only was a benefit for him. As the civilians around the smoke tried to look around to see what was happening, there were only screams to be heard as they were attacked blindly.

Francis grabbed a baton of one to hit a policeman and shoved it into another behind him. Multiple attempted to sneak attack from behind, but all of it was too predictable. He turns and hits a pair in the head knocking them out, using it as a human shield from the oncoming armed guards.

Shots were fired and that's when they all kept piling on, running at him from left and right and from this point, it was becoming tedious. Francis groans yet another officer swung at him, but he swiftly dodges and grabs a gun from him pocket whilst doing so.

"Put the gun down Whitelock." A man standing on a police car and pointed at the criminal bravely. "You're outnumber-" he was interrupted by a bang and screams swarmed the crowd.

The officer looked at the criminal, wide eyed, dropping the megaphone and falling backwards. He saw the blood pouring out of his chest, he looked astonished as if thinking he wouldn't have to guts to shoots someone. The thought alone made Francis laugh loudly.

Francis blew the smoke off the tip of the gun and looked to the astonished crowd. "Who's next?" he cackles and there was a group of what sounded like war cries.

The field was bloodied with insured and dead man, but Francis couldn't care less. All he wanted was Valentina. No one would stop him from getting to her. She was his. And he would do anything to hold her close to him together.

His eyes widened and he could see her standing there staring back at him with smudged makeup on her face and she was biting on her cheek harshly. Valentina clutched her dress tightly and looks at him sadly, he loves her eyes but is forced to look away.

More and more police were ganging up on him as he saw police pushing her away from the scene harshly and this was enough to push him over the edge.

/Nobody gets to touch her like that.

One of the policemen had desperate look on his face, he was desperate to do anything to save himself mostly and he did the only thing he could, he pulled out a machine gun that was only for when it came to the worst.

He then fired rapidly, some men getting in the way, but he didn't care. He would finish the job and be promoted; seen as a hero even. He yelled eagerly and pressed down on the trigger harder but stopped once there was a loud yell. It didn't sound like a pained cry, but more of annoyance.

The crowed stopped yelling, everything going silent. And as their heads faced the source, their eyes widened.

Francis Whitelock had been shot. Multiple times

His hair hung over his face, streaked with blood, body stained with bullets, his wings having holes through them, blood oozing out and bullet impaling his chest. He gripped his waist harshly, hissing in pain. His faced scrunched in agony, he tried to step forward but collapsed to the floor, a pool of blood surrounding him.

One second its silent and the other, there's cheers, cries of happiness.

People cheering for his downfall. It rung around in Valentine's ears.

"No." she whispered her lips trembling and she speaks, no one heard her. She dared to look at him, but she regretted it instantly.

He was on the floor, lying in a pool of blood, some of it coming from his mouth. Policeman standing around him, and laughing, knowing fully well that he was trapped and couldn't escape this time.

Tears well in her eyes, her knees shaking, and it felt as if she couldn't control her body anymore.

"NO!" she screamed, her voice cracking and people stop to look at her, but her surroundings don't matter anymore. She runs past the crowd, pushing and shoving past the policeman, making them yell at her to get back but they stop as they see her tears of sadness.

Sorrow for the villain?

Her sobs echo around the crowd causing spectators to stare along in shock, slight pity spiking their conscious.

She falls to her knees, not being able to stand from the pain in her heart.

Her friends stand in the crowd, feelings faint from the sigh. It made no sense, she had hidden her true eye from them, hidden secrets. Why was she next to him, next to that killer, that murder?

"I'm sorry." She cries, laying his head on her thighs and he smiles faintly as his eyes drop to meet hers.

"Don't cry." He whispers with a smile, reaching to her face, and weakly rubbing of her tears of pain and she shakes her head, a small smile forming with his.

"I hate you..." she whispers with a smile, ripping off some of her dress, not caring the people gawking at the couple. She slowly wrapped the strips of dress around his injuries, and he winced in pain.

"Why? I thought you loved me." He chuckles quietly.

The crowd murmurs louder and she could feel something rising inside her. Something strong, it pulls on her restraints harshly on the monster that she had put restraints on ages ago, but all she does is let out a shaky breath. He closes his eyes softly

"I'll avenge you." He's silent.

Valentina moved his head and carefully places it on the floor, before slowly bending upward, making the crowd look at her, not knowing what to do, they were frozen with confusion.

Someone spokes up, pushing past the barricade that contained the two.

A policeman finally stepped forward, the one who possessed the machine gun. He had felt so powerful at the time but as Valentina and the man made eye contact, he could feel himself shiver. Her eyes held emptiness, refusing to reveal anything. "Ma'am. You must exit the premises; we need to take this-"

"This what?" she sneers

The man looks stunned as she turns to face him, astounded at the fact she had spoken like that so strongly that he wanted to cower back, but he had to act strong, he wasn't going to lose all the power he just gained. He opened his mouth, his face turning to a sour expression, but he was interrupted yet again.

"You were the one with the gun?"

"W-what?" he looked straight into her eyes again, a new emotion flaring in her eyes. Hatred.

"You. You were the one that shot him?" She questioned; already knowing the answer. "Yes." he said, trying to sound confident and failing miserably. This made her scoff out loud, and all the policeman and students stood there, too surprised to do anything but watch.

"Then you're about to feel twice his pain." She shouts, tears still streaming down her tear-stained face, and before he could react, she stepped back.

A wide smile on her face as she revealed her true self.

Its time Valentina Rider came back.
