《Angel | ✓》46 - Panic Attack

Just a few more days until Prom.
A few more days until all of this drama is over, and it'll be school break.
All I had to do was steer clear of Francis and find out if Tyler did like me more than a friend. Which I had successfully done for a week now, ever since I saw Francis on the hill.
Walking down the halls, I could feel a presence behind me and once I turned around, I was greeted with 2 wide smiles.
I groan as they surround me and twirl their arms with mine.
"Hey Chelsey, Ally..."
"So, Valery, have you decided if you're going to match with Tyler, hm?" I hear Ally says in a flirtatious tone and I give her a tight smile.
"Nope, I actually haven't even talked to him since he asked me to prom." I say quietly and Chelsey and Ally look at each other with furrowed eyebrows.
"Why?" They ask in unison, and I shrug my shoulders, my eyes wondering the busy halls.
"I guess it's just been awkward," I utter, and they look at each other again with worried expressions. Why are they acting so weird?
"Well then you have to get to class!" Chelsey demands and drags me into our class, taking the seat next to Francis so the only one that was available was next to Francis, and across from Tyler.
I sat across from him and gave him an awkward smile which he returned but once class started, I could feel my face heating up from the embarrassment, but when it does it felt as if the room darkened.
My eyes wandered around the room and next from my desk, I saw Francis giving Tyler a glare. And if looks could kill, he would be 6 feet under.
"Hey, um, Valery?" I heard Tyler say suddenly, making even Chelsey's head perk up in interest. "I heard you got a red dress, right?" He asks.
As soon as Tyler says that I could feel a cold sensation being placed on my thigh and caressing it. I knew instantly who was doing this. My cheeks flush and the grip on my pencil tightens.
I already feel my face reddening even more by the passing second.
"Mhm!" I nod my head and put on a smile, making Francis's stare switch from him to me.

His hand started to move, upwards on my leg and I felt like I would say something to regret in any second.
"I-I was thinking that we could match? I could wear a red tie maybe?" He says in a nervous voice, trying to look at me but I avert his gaze.
Francis's hand was getting closer and closer, higher, and higher.
"That sounds great." I breath out and Tyler's face lights up, but to this my heart sinks as is his hand is removed. Does he really like me more than a friend?
I stay silent the rest of the lesson, feeling Francis and Tyler's eyes gluing to me.
For a short while I cover my face and glance to Francis who is staring at me with a dead expression.
He raises an eyebrow, and I could feel my shoulder sag.
He was right. Tyler is serious about a relationship.
Halfway during the lesson, Chelsey suddenly spoke up to swap seats with Francis and he thankfully agreed.
Lifting my head to look at the two boys now next to each other, I almost laughs as I see them glaring to each other but when seeing me look at them, they just smile and continue writing.
"So, you really didn't know Tyler had a crush on you?" Chelsey asked nudging me and I shook my head making her groan.
"I've been trying to help him, and this is what I get?" She groans and dramatically leans on me.
"Sorry Chelsey, I have someone else in mind." I whisper, glancing at Francis who thankfully didn't catch me this time.
To this, my friend lets out a loud gasp and I quickly slap my hand over her mouth before she attracted more attention to our table.
"Who?" She whisper-yelled. "And how are you going to explain this to Tyler? He'll be heartbroken!"
The guilt starts to swirl in me, and I nod slowly, agreeing that I would.
"During the Prom... no, at the end of the prom. I'll tell him it's not going to work out," I say quietly, and she nods understandably.
"Okay, but are you ever going to tell me who you have in mind?" She asks immediately changing the topic and wiggling her eyebrows.
"I need to get back to work." I say trying to ignore her, but she just pouts and keeps poking my shoulder.

When will this end.
I made it through the entire lesson with two pairs of beady eyes trained on me, and a girl next to be bugging me constantly.
As the teacher let us out of class, I immediately sped away, ignoring Chelsey calling my name and making a sharp turn into my next class, which only Leila was in.
Plopping into my seat next to her, I let out a long sigh making her turn to me with a smirk. "You just had class with Chelsey, Tyler and Francesco. So, I assume trouble?" she chuckles, and I nodded as rub my face in attempts to discard the memories of the lesson.
"I didn't know that Tyler actually liked me, I thought it was supposed to be friendly!" I exclaim and she chuckles.
"Ye, considering how easily you accepted, I was thinking that you didn't get the message" she laughs, and I turn my head giving her a glare. "Gee, thanks" I pout, and she laughs even more.
"All right, class is in session!" the teacher announces, and everyone goes quiet as he starts to teach.
For some reason, I couldn't think straight, and my mind kept going back to Francis and Tyler.
Francis was right. And now I was going to have to break his heart even though I just fulfilled it. I groan from the thought and rest my head on the desk, knowing that I couldn't even pay attention with all the thoughts in my head.
I could feel Leila glancing at me frequently and I had just about had enough of the loud classroom I was being trapped in. It overwhelmed me, and I couldn't handle it. It felt like the walls were closing in.
Feeling the air be pushed out of me, my breath pace fastens, I slam my hand on the table and look at the teacher desperately as I get out of my chair and head for the door.
"I need the bathroom" I blurt out and exit the room before the teacher could answer, not even bothering to look back.
"I need the bathroom." She says, not minding the teacher telling her to come back.
She ran down the hallways, but it slowly turned into an unsteady walk, trying to contain the panic attack that was slowly growing in her.
Valentina leaned again the wall and breaths entered in and out of her mouth vigorously and she hugged her arms in attempts to control herself.
"I don't want to hurt anyone." she utters to herself.
Truth be told, it was one of her worst fears to hurt any of her friends, she never wanted to hurt them like she did to Keisha. She never wanted to repeat her mistakes.
As flashes of Keisha ran through the girl's mind, she could feel her body start to shiver and her vision blurring with tears.
Feeling like Valentina's legs would give out at any second, she was about to fill close her eyes until there was a warm presence that enclosed itself around her.
Tears that were trapped in her eyes freed themselves as Valery let out full sobs now.
Francis squeezed her tighter until his love became quiet, hurting silently.
They stood still for a while, feeling each other heartbeats against each other.
"I don't want to hurt them." She repeats and he rests his head on her shoulder, looking into her sad eyes.
"I miss your blue eyes." He says softly, smiling even, trying to distract her from her worry, slightly successful as her frown turns into a small smile.
"So do I." She whispers and he smiles with her, only for hers to drop in a second. "But this is wrong."
Valentina moved out of Francis grasp and turned to face him. "Please understand." Was all she said before she turned walking back to the class she abandoned, feeling only slightly better.
Francis reached out to her but retracted his hand instantly, knowing that he must. He can't force her again or she would run again.
The anger was catching up to him though. All he wanted to be the love they used to have, and it was taking too long.
His nails dug into his palm and his nostrils flared.
I'm going to have her sooner or later, He thought before walking away briskly.
Little did the broken couple know, there was a girl hiding in a corner, listening to the odd conversation.
"What...?" Leila utters.
