《Angel | ✓》28 - Crowned

Today is the day that I supposedly become Queen to Francis's gang.
And I couldn't be more nervous.
Everyone in the mansion has been fussing around and preparing the mansion. From what I had learnt, it was extremely important but rare that a gang leader would continue with something like this. Most of them slept around and only did it for lust, not love.
I'm just glad that that isn't Francis. He deserves to live life with some happiness and I'm glad I can support this for him.
I woke up with an empty bed. It felt cold without him, and I was about to groan, only to hear a shuffle at the head of the bed.
I lazily lift my head and see that it's Francis, and his back was faced to me. He still wasn't wearing a shirt from last night, but he was wearing black pants, the shine of red blood is dotted over them. His back was covered in large scars that he must've gotten ages ago, but they looked like they still hurt.
I got out of bed and walked over to him, running my finger down his arm that led to his hand and knuckles that were torn with blood seeping out.
When I looked up to his face, there were splats of blood on his chin and under his eyes were eyebags. His gaze avoided mine as I held his hands in mine and saw that he was also holding bandages.
"I don't know how to... put these on." He says in a raspy voice, and I smiled in sympathy before taking his hands in hand and making him sit down.
As he sat on the couch, his eyes filled with tiredness, but I could see them spark out of the corner of my eyes as I kneeled in between his legs and tenderly wrapped in knuckles in the white wrap.
As I finished, I let go of his hands and sat next to him as he dosed off, making me furrow my eyebrows further.
"What were you doing last night?" I ask suddenly, surprising Francis and making his head turn to mine, but he still didn't look me in the eyes.
"Doing work..." he grumbled, and I raised an eyebrow, not believing him for a second and making him sigh. "Dealing with a rat in the gang."
"You're overworking yourself, Francis." I say softly but he scoffs at my words. "It's true, you need to have time for yourself."
Finally, the golden eyed man's eyes connected with mine and he thinned his lips, and a thought popped into my head making me smirk.
"Since I'll be 'Queen', you can spend all day with me tomorrow and showing me the ropes." I suggest and I could see that he was thinking about it, and finally he agreed to my deal, making me put my hands together in delights.

There was a glint of mischief in Francis's eyes before he leaned towards me slyly with a smirk playing on his lips. "Even though we'll have lots of quality time tonight." He says and I audibly gasp as I realise, he's now on top of me and I'm trapped under and within his arms.
As I was about to pull away, not ready for what was going to happen next, but all he does is rest onto me and bury his face in my neck, making me squirm but eventually calm down as I knew he wasn't going to let me go any time soon.
I could feel him inhaling in my smell and then breathing it out, seeming more relieved, and eventually I found myself fiddling with his dark hair, twirling it in my fingers and brushing my hand through it.
For minutes it was quiet as we both did this in silence, only the sound of the rustling trees outside to be heard. I could feel his heartbeat on me as he could probably hear mine and I felt safe. In his arms, by his side, I felt safe when I'm with Francis, and it was supposed horrible that I did. I felt safe with a criminal.
I felt my heart speeding up and I felt Francis lift his head to look at me and ask why, but he was interrupted as there was a knock at the door. A groan was let out by the gang leader, and I laughed as he lousily got up and answered the door.
"What." He snapped, more of a statement than a question.
I couldn't see the man, but I could hear that he sounded scared, so I got up and stood next to Francis with a bright smile which seemed to calm the worker down.
"You are needed for the preparation, Sir. And Ms Valentina is requested for the ball gown dressing." The man says and Francis nods stiffly before closing the door and turn in got me.
"I'm sorry I have to go so soon, Angel." he says and kisses my forehead before turning to put a dress shirt, proper panned and blazer on. He puffs his wings out and I wave him goodbye as I put on a simple jumper and shorts to walk to the dressing room.
As I pushed open the doors, I was visited by workers buzzing around the room, cleaning the place up for the big event but everything came to a stop as they saw that I had entered.
The crowd bowed before me before continuing to rush around. I smiled at the buzz and walked to where I was told to meet the tailor.
As I did, I was greeted with both Stella and Tara, the makeup artist that did my makeup last time.

Another woman was presenting my dress and as I went into the room to undress, I slid the beautiful ball gown on and walked back outside to be greeted with dropped jaws.
My face flushed with embarrassment but bright smile.
I was sat down by a lady that tended to my hair and Tara who did my makeup. She talked to me about how lucky I was to be in this position, and I agreed with her. I didn't know what I did to be able to be this lucky, but I was thankful for it.
Tara stepped back once she had finished her work and turned my chair to face myself in my mirror.
The makeup was amazing.
I had a light smoky eye and lipstick that complemented the dress. It looked stunning. And my hair was curdled, and it dropped over my shoulder. They did an amazing job!
I thanked the makeup artists before walking to the jewellery box and picking silver earrings and necklace to go with my dress. As I was doing so, I was pushed over as someone collided me with a hug, and I instantly knew who it was.
Turning around, I grinned as I saw Quinn looking happier than she ever has and had the red gown I gave her, on, and it looked amazing on her. She thanked me a thousand times for doing this for her and all I did was smile and laugh along with her.
As it was only 4pm the party started at 6pm there was much time, so I went around to assist the workers. Even though most of them insisted for me to go sit down and relax but I was reluctant and helped everyone none the less.
I put up the decorations around the halls and reached the high placed for the maids that couldn't. As it became 5:30pm, I farewelled the workers and ran back to the dressing room, just in time for me to walk in on Xavier bowing to Quinn, hand in hand.
They both froze as they heard me whistle and pulled away from each other as if nothing happened. I raised my eyebrow at the pair and they both had a flustered look all over their faces.
"Hey Val." Quinn said stiffly, and I winked at her, gesturing to the awkward Xavier next to her and she goes even more red.
The room was engulfed with silence until I finally sighed and went to open the door to shoo the love birds out of.
"Okay, you guys can go dance and make out whilst I wait in here." I say in a dramatic sad tone, and they laugh at my act but bid me goodbye as I lounge onto one of the armchairs, waiting for my time to appear, arrive.
As I closed my eyes and rested my head, I cleared my mind so that only one thought was left to linger.
This is going to be the day where my life changes forever.
This is the day that I'm going to come the so-called Queen of the most wanted gang to be known. The Ares Gang. It was going to announced to the whole gang and there would be now going back.
There was a knock at the door that interrupted my thoughts and as I rise from my chair, I saw a shy looking maid peeking around the door.
"You are requested to arrive at the ball entrance, Ms Valentina." She says quietly and I nod kindly before following her down the quiet hallways. As we both got closer to the large doors, there was a booming voice and I recognised it instantly.
I stood in behind the door, and I saw two guards standing beside the door and Xavier as one of them. Waving to him, he waved back before making a wings signal, making me realise that I probably needed to spread them, so I did so. The guard gave me a thumbs up and I quietly giggled before listening to his voice behind the door.
Francis was making an announcement to the whole room, and I knew the gathering was large.
Xavier explained to me before how before of the introduction to the Queen, there would be a blood oath that the gang members, would swear to serve the Queen with highest priority, under the leader himself. I thought it was sweet.
"I will honour this woman as my one and only, no matter the circumstances and never let my heart fall for another's." he said in a proud voice and my heart flutters.
And I started to walk as he announced my full name.
"I shall present to you... Valentina Layla Rider, your new Queen!" he booms and with that the doors were pulled open, revealing myself and shining the bright light on me.
I stepped forward, causing the gangs below to roar in applaud and I made my way beside Francis. I blushed under the utter embarrassment and the gang leader beside me chuckled.
"You look beautiful Angel.." he whispers into my ear and pulls my hips closer to him, making me laugh.
The man looks from the crowd and back to me, pulling me in front of himself, his lips inches from mine.
"We've got to please the crowd..." he mumbled, but before I could move, his lips crashed onto mine.
There was an uproar as they applaud us, and my lips smile on his.
I felt so happy.
