《Angel | ✓》17 - Hospital Bed

As Valentina, was just about to look back at Francis there was a second loud bang, and before she could process anything, she fell back into the lake, getting deeper by the second.

Francis watched in horror as his love was hit by a bullet. As he was still angered from her trying to escape yet again, the black-winged man turned around in a rage, to see one of his best men, trembling with the gun in his hand. The man was now feeling like a mere boy as he looked up to his terrifying boss, approaching him quickly.

And before he could make an excuse, his neck was snapped by the outraged boss, that quickly redirected his attention to his love that was drowning in the lake. Without hesitation, Francis jumped into the cold blues and knew he could hold his breath for an extended amount of time.

As he pushed his wings out, allowing him to go deeper, the male saw the small silhouette and as he got closer to her, he could see her dressed in all black with some of her tanned skin showings, followed by a trail of red, pushing his anger further.

I can't believe it. The second chance she got, she left me. How did she even manage to lock my men in her bathroom? She needs to stay.

Francis's mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, his anger speaking, as he delicately picked her up bridal style and strongly propelled himself out of the water with his wings.

There was a splash of water, letting the pair emerge. The men that were ordered to look for her with Francis, stood there and watched the pair stay in the sky as Francis checked his love.

Her body was still, with no movement, a minute passed and just as Francis thought he had lost her, suddenly her chest started to move up and down, at a good pace, letting the man let out a breath of his own.

Still angry at Valentina, Francis never intended or wanted her to get hurt, but he knew he had to do what he wanted to save for later as she woke up.

Looking up from his Angel, he looked on to his men that were waiting for the next command, and he nodded his head as he flew back to the mansion, the 10 men following him back, basically knowing the forest like that back of their hands.

All during this Valentina was awake. Her body may have not been but without being able to see or hear anything, all she could do was feel what was going on around her. The cold air on her face, rushed by her so quickly, that she knew that Francis was taking her back.

But she didn't want to go. She didn't want to live a life trapped in a mansion with killers, and criminals. So why did she feel relieved that she was in the gang leader's arms? Just as the blonde thought that she then completely lost her consciousness.

There it is again.

The high-pitched ringing went around my head.

God was it loud.

I felt myself moving slightly, shocking myself as I twitched my finger.

More of my senses were coming back to me, and my leg was killing me. Squinting open my eye, I look down and saw that I was in a blue hospital dress, matching the wall of this room.

Was I... in a hospital room?

I tried to get up but was stopped by the cords all over my body, coming from behind me. I was in a hospital when I saw the heart monitor and man machines.

I started ripping off all the cords attached to me, knowing I needed to get out of this unfamiliar place. As I was about to rip off the 3rd one, a cold hand was placed on my shoulder, making me sit up and my head snaps to the person.

Though my body softened as I saw it was a lady, she looked fairly old, and with a sad smile on her face, she removed her hand and stepped back from the bed I was on.

"Hi dear-" she started but I was too frantic and snapped.

"Where am I." I spat, making the lady sigh, whilst I scooted away from her.

"Francis says that you may need some help adjusting to this room,"

As soon as I heard his name, the memories of last night came flooding back into my mind.

Letting out a quiet gasp, I frantically started pulling off all cords. I need to get out of here. The nurse tried to stop me but all I could hear was the high-pitched ringing that was starting again. It got louder as I got out of bed. Quickly regretting it, leant back on it as the bullet wound left on my leg was hurting but I couldn't face him one more time.

Out of the corner of my eye, it looked like the maid was trying to tell me to get back in bed, except I had already opened the door and tried to run out but two pairs of strong arms stopped me and lifted me off the ground so I couldn't run. Frantically, looking to my sides I could see two guards, dressed in the same uniform as his gang.

I cried and screamed for the two let me go, but they manhandled me to the bed and I tried to resist until the ringing in my ears disappeared and I heard two heavy feet walking over to me, then Lucy gasped.

I looked away, not being able to bear to look him in the eyes and stopped resisting the bodyguards.

"Men." his voice said blankly, and their hands were removed from me and walked out, leaving me sitting on the bed, head turned to the left, away from him. Whilst two doctors with a tray walked in after.

"Valentina," he said, his voice going emotionless to hurt. I just stayed still.

"Why did you do it? Again?" he muttered out like it was poison on his tongue and my heart throbbed in pain inside my chest.

It was quiet for a moment until my face was cupped with his hand and turned to him.

"Look at me when I'm talking to you," he growled, our faces inches apart. His lips were close to mine, his face crumpled into a scowl and mine stained with shock. The tension between us was thick. My heart was pumping out of my chest, but my mind had something else to say.

"Why did you-"

"Because it's wrong!" I snapped, slapping his hand off me, surprising everyone in the room, even myself.

"It's wrong." I repeat "It's wrong that I don't want to leave to leave- that I could even dare to care about you!"

What?

I looked at Francis, my eyes widened and my chest was heaving. I hadn't even thought that before, let alone said it out loud. I looked into his eyes, there were full of hurt, and sadness.

But that was quickly removed from his eyes, the man's whole aurora, turned pitch black.

"Do what you need to do," he mutters and turns around, the doctors now to the left of me shift closer but I grab his sleeve, stopping him.

"Francis." I desperately said, not wanting him to leave me like this.

I looked to my left and saw that one of the two doctors had picked up two syringes and my hand on Francis's arm tightened as I saw that he was putting one to my forearm.

"What.." I gasped as he plunged the needle into my skin, and it was all calm for a moment.

Everything my silent except for the thumping of my heart. But then it all hit me at once.

It felt as if all of my bones were crushed, and somebody was pulling on my head. My mouth dropped open, screams leaving them as the pain engulfed my body. I fell out of the bed as my body shook in pain, but I couldn't control my body, my vision was blurred, and my hearing was muted.

Hands covered my body and lifted me, making the pain grow and my scream spike again.

Something covered my mouth as I'm pressed against something soft. My eyes became as heavy as rocks and when I saw Francis through the spots in my eyes, he was coldly looking down on me but with a hint of sorrow.

My glossy eyes formed tears, and my body felt tired once more, but the hurt had diminished as my whole body just felt numb.

And once again, before I passed out I felt two sharp pinches in my shoulder and my lower back, followed by another one.

Until I fell unconscious.
