Xavier

She was very irritating sometimes. She was going to do whatever she wanted whether I agreed or not. That's why I was sitting in the back of the coffee shop now because she picked up an extra shift. Apparently, Mr. West was getting a cold and she was worried so she offered to close the shop.

"I want to go home."

"Just send one of the others then."

"Why do you have to be the nicest person in the world?"

"Why are you so whiny for such a tough guy?" I rolled my eyes. The bell rang and she moved to the front of the store.

I could hear her talking to someone and after a few minutes I wondered what was taking so long. I got up from the chair and went to the front. There was a girl talking to her. She was younger with black hair wearing a cut band tee shirt and dark jean shorts. She saw me and stood up straighter. Aubrey turned to me.

"Hey, this is Blair." I nodded once. She glanced at me but didn't say anything, she didn't really have time. The door opened and Clutch and Blade came in. Blair turned leaning on the counter. Clutch froze seeing her. I was surprised he seemed to recognize her.

"Well look who it is." The girl said.

"You!" He smiled at her.

"Me." He walked up to her putting his hands on either side of her.

"You didn't make that as hard as you promised."

"Hm," She glanced down and back up. "I beg to differ." He chuckled, shaking his head.

"You are going to get yourself in trouble talking like that, baby."

"Promise?" Aubrey turned to me.

"I feel like we shouldn't be watching this." She whispered. I smiled down at her.

"Aubrey, you mind handing me some cold water to pour over this boy?" Blade said coming to the counter. Aubrey smiles turning to him.

"Blair!" The door to the shop swung open. We all looked to see the pastor. "Get over here! We are going home!" I watched Blair openly ignore the man. "Blair, now!" She rolled her eyes before pushing off the counter.

"Come break me out and we can see how much trouble we can get in." She whispered to Clutch before walking out the door.

"I'm going to marry that girl." Clutch said looking at the door she walked out of.

"What was that about?" I asked confused about the whole thing.

"She's the preachers daughter." Aubrey cleared up.

"Fuck, Clutch, no." He turned to me.

"What?"

"You are going to get involved and get your ass in trouble and it's not coming back on the club."

"Why would it cause any trouble?"

"Maybe because she is a minor!" Aubrey cut in. Clutch looked shocked.

"What?!"

"She doesn't turn 18 till next month, I told you she is trouble."

"Damn it, well I guess I can wait a month." I rolled my eyes. We are going to have to watch him.

"Blade get him home and make sure he doesn't break her out of that house."

"I don't need a damn babysitter!" Clutch turned to me suddenly.

"And I don't need the damn cops hauling your ass to jail! Go the fuck home and stay away from that girl!" I snapped back.

"Come on, man. He's right just get her out of your head for a while." Blade pulled Clutch towards the door. Clutch turned storming out pissed at me. "I'll watch him." He said before following Clutch.

"You all get so angry so fast!" Aubrey said turning towards the counter and whipping it down.

"Angel, let's go home." I said wrapping my arms around her back.

"Xavier, I'm sorry I just kinda need the hours. I still have bills and my apartment to pay for and.."

"You are still paying rent?" I hadn't thought about that.

"Well, yeah all my stuff is still there and, I mean, I know I'm staying with you now but when this all blows over... I need somewhere to stay and let's face it the only reason you moved me in is because of them so..." I understood what she was saying and part of me agreed she did still need a place of her own in case something happened. I wouldn't think about that though. I'd never make her leave again but if she ever wanted to leave me I wanted her to have somewhere safe to go.

"I may have a solution if you're open to it."

"I'm open to hearing it."

"I have a few houses I rent out, if you want we can move your stuff in one and you won't have to pay rent."

"If I don't pay then you are losing money."

"Fine then you don't have to pay until you actually are staying there."

"Well what if this last a year you are losing a year of rent because of me." I sighed.

"You are aggravating. There is one I don't even rent out what about that one." She seemed to think about it.

"Okay" She smiled. "I'd like that, thank you."

"Now can we go home?" She laughed.

Finally, we got home around 9:40.

"Angel, I have some work to do." I had been ignoring my phone earlier but I noticed I had about a dozen work emails. I went to my office and looked over the emails they were all from the same company asking me to come down. I groaned frustrated. I emailed them back asking when. I didn't really want to be gone right now. They emailed back almost instantly asking for me to be there as soon as possible. Shit.

After emailing them back and confirming that I'd go, I closed my computer frustrated. I went to find Aubrey. There was a light on in one of the spare rooms. I went in there and saw the bathroom door closed. I didn't bother knocking I just walked in. Aubrey was in the bathtub. She smiled at me.

"Hey," She was gorgeous. I sat on the floor beside her. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just work stuff."

"You look stressed. You wanna join me?" I smiled at her.

"What the hell." I got up taking off my clothes and getting in the bathtub she bit her lip looking over me. "See something you like, Angel?" She nodded reaching out and running her hand down my chest. I leaned back against the tub and she moved to lay on my chest, her fingers tracing the outline of my tattoos. I closed my eyes letting myself relax feeling her naked body close to mine.

"I love your tattoos. What is this one for?" I looked down to see her running her fingers over the lion over my ribs.

"My dad"

"He liked lions?"

"He had the same one. He was the head of the club, in charge of everything, it seemed. He had the same lion on his chest."

"You're a lot like him?" I sighed.

"More than my mom. He wasn't like this though. He'd probably kick my ass for doing most of the things I've done." I thought about him, when I was younger he seemed bigger than life to me. Nothing on this planet scared me but him.

"What was your mom like?"

"She was...a lot like you, very caring and loving. She was definitely that cookie cutter mom you see in old tv shows."

"I would have loved to have met her." I looked down at her.

"She would have loved you, so would my dad." She smiled.

"What about you, Angel? What are your parents like?"

"Very...cold, proper, my dad is a businessman and my mom is a stay at home trophy wife, obsessed with social standings and class. I have two sisters that are the same way. I was like my grandma she was from the south, raised very soft spoken and sweet. My mom and her never got along. Once my mom moved to New York she was determined to have more then a small town life, as she called it."

"I'm guessing they didn't take it well when you quit your job and moved here."

"No, but I couldn't stand it so... here I am."

"I'm glad you're here." She smiled up at me.

"Me too. Do you still regret talking to me that day." I ran my hand across her cheek.

"I regret the choices I made before meeting you that put you in danger, but no talking to you that day I will never regret."

"Good" She smiled at my answer. "So why is work stressing you out?"

"That's a later problem, you ready for bed?" She nodded getting up and grabbing a towel I followed reaching down to get my clothes to throw in my room. When I stood, I felt her fingers on my back.

"What are these from?" She asked, following the patterns of faded scars that were lining my back. I turned to her, she looked worried.

"They are old fighting scars." I lied. "Nothing to worry about, Angel."

"They look like...whipping scars."

"Aubrey, I said they were nothing." I said more stern this time. She bit the inside of her cheek and looked down.

"Sorry," I sighed, lifting her chin and leaning down to kiss her before walking to my room. I threw my clothes on the floor and went to the dresser for boxers.

"No," I turned confused. Aubrey bit her lip watching me.

"No?" I asked amused.

"Not yet," She glanced to the bed then back at me. I chuckled moving towards her and dropping my towel from around my waist.

"Your turn."
