《Stop That Hacker!》Chapter 52

I buttoned up my coat, got my bag and headed out of the classroom. It was the last day in school and I was so ready to go home. I looked at the time. It was around 1 and I was supposed to meet Elric. He was going to drive me home and we were going to spend some time together while no one was home. With the excuse that he was waiting for Ace if anyone showed up.
I was dying to see Elric. After seeing him only last weekend I couldn't wait to hug him.
Suddenly someone hugged me tightly from behind.
I peeked behind me and saw Elric's smile. I turned around smiling. "Perfect timing."
"Are you ready to go home?" He asked taking my hand and looked around to check if anyone was watching.
"Yes." I squeezed his hand.
Suddenly my phone rang and we instantly both panicked.
"Sorry. It's my phone." I smiled awkwardly. "It's just Remi."
I answered. "Hello."
"Oh my god. Francy! Where the hell are you? Did you leave?" She sounded panicked.
"I'm outside the school.Leaving. I told you I'm meeting Elric today."
He glanced at me and mouthed. She knows?
I shushed him, smiling. "Aren't you in class?" I asked Remi. I was sure she had one more extra class today.
"Yes. No. I need help." She tried to calm down. "I was supposed to do a final presentation today for my civic class."
Right right. She had to do that political assignment.
"And how did it go?" I asked.
"Go? I haven't even started! Francy!" She was losing it. "I'm outside the classroom trying to figure out what to do. My usb is not showing the assignment when I plug it in the teacher's laptop. I am sure I put it in the USB this morning. But it's not showing up now. I tried everything I could find on google to fix this."
"Oh shit!" I said rubbing my forehead. "What do you need me to do? Do you want me to go and grab your laptop?"
Remi sighed. "No no. you won't get here on time and....wait did you say you were with Elric. Oh my god you are with Lucy."
It suddenly clicked in my head. " Remi what classroom are you in?"
"34 b.Come quickly!"
I hung up and looked at Elric with a smile.
"You told Remi?" He asked.
"Yes. Well she's my best friend. I tell her everything.I mean I had to tell someone that I had a boyfriend."
He smiled. "I see. Okay. I don't mind." He shrugged his shoulders. "So what happened? You sounded worried."
"Will you be willing to um.. help Remi? She has a really important assignment and I need Lucy's help for some computer things."

He leaned over and smiled. "Of course. Let's go."
***
We rushed to the classroom and knocked on the door. I got in head first, trying to spot Remi. There were thirty other people staring at me.
Suddenly I saw Remi get up and rushed to greet us.She ran to her teacher whispering to her.
The teacher got up from her chair, unplugged her laptop and brought it outside the classroom.
"These are the friends who will help you?" She asked.
"Yes. He is really good with computers. Go on." Remi pointed at the teacher's laptop and handed Elric the usb.
While still standing up, Elric plugged in the Usb, and in thirty seconds he moved away from the laptop.
"Done."He said.
"Done?" The teacher asked, peeking at her laptop impressed.
"Really?" Remi said in disbelief.
"Yes. Fixed." Elric nodded. "Good luck." He told Remi.
"Thank you." Remi followed the teacher inside and closed the door behind us.
"You really fixed it that fast?" I asked, mind blown.
"Yes." He smiled. "It was easy."
"For you. It's because you're amazing." I nudged him. "Thank you for helping. That was really cool of you."
He smiled and patted my head. The hallways were empty.
"Should we go?" He asked.
"Give me a second." I peeked inside though the window on the door. Remi was doing her speech.
"She hates public speaking." I was proud of how good she was handling it. "I used to do all public speaking in our group projects."
"Really?" He said amused. "I never figured you for a no stage fright type of girl."
"I don't know. It comes naturally. I love public speaking." I smiled. "Oh look she is doing so well."
He chuckled. "Maybe the whole USB confusion made her worry more about that, than the actual speech."
I chuckled. "Probably."
We headed outside the school. We walked side by side waiting to get out of the school gates so we could hold hands. Our hands were brushing each other. Just a few steps further.
"Francy.Lucy?"
I turned around. Damn it.!
Kai was walking over with Fin. I smiled.
Great. Just great.
Elric greeted both Fin and Kai.
"What um... What are you two doing?" Fin asked, looking at us suspiciously.
"They're probably waiting for Ace." Kai sighed nonchalantly.
"Yeah." Elric nodded.
"Yep." I smiled.
"You?" I asked, eyeing them. "School is over. I thought you two would be the first ones out of here."
"We're meeting someone and then gonna play some baseball." Fin explained and then pointed somewhere. We turned around to see two girls, probably freshmans standing next to the school gate on their phones. They kept peeking at us and were hesitant at first but eventually approached us. They were eyeing Elric as well.

"Fin are we going? Are you guys coming as well?" One of them asked me.
"No." I smiled politely.
They started talking about something to Fin and Kai was explaining to Elric something I didn't understand. I looked down at my phone. Time was flying by and there goes my precious few hours with Elric. Few kids started coming out of school. Well great. The last class was over.
I looked up and saw Remi leaving the school premises approaching the gate. She saw us and smiled, and then saw Kai and Fin. And then the girls.
"It's Remi." I barely got the words out when Elric lifted his head and saw Remi trying to make a giant circle to avoid us.
"Why is she leaving?" Elric whispered. Kai seemed to have noticed something was up and turned his head spotting Remi.
"The girls." I whispered back to Elric.
"Oh."He nodded and glanced at Kai who's eyes followed Remi like a lost puppy.
Remi saw that we were all staring and waved at us hoping we wouldn't call her over.
"Did you do well?" Elric asked her, yelling.
"Yes. Thanks to you." She smiled giving us a thumbs up.
"See ya later. Tell me all about it." I yelled too.
She waved back and speed walked out of the school gates like her life depended on it.
Elric looked at Kai who was confused.
"Help with what?"
I wanted to say something but I was running out of ideas. Fin and the girls were laughing about something while Kai was silent waiting for an answer.
"Hey Lucy, do you have any one from your friends that we could set up with Remi?." I said out of nowhere.
Elric looked down at me confused and then back at Kai. "Maybee."
Kai didn't flinch, but I could swear he blinked a few times in shock upon hearing that.
"Are we going or what?" Fin turned towards Kai.
"I'm going to drive Francy home and wait for Ace there." Elric told them and then pulled me to walk with him as fast as possible.
Once we were out of sight, we ran to the place where he was parked. Snow getting in our boots as we ran. He pulled out his keys and unlocked the car automatically and we jumped as fast as we could into it.
"Go.go go." I yelled, shaking off the snow, laughing. He turned the keys and backed out of the parking spot as fast as he could.
We need to get to my house and use this time. ASAP.
"You're mean. " Elric laughed. "Why did you say that to your brother?"
"To motivate him. You did it as well to Remi when we were making tea" I argued.
He seemed to remember that. "Right." He chuckled. "Oh and really I've been meaning to ask. Did you try my tea?"
I smiled. "Yes I did. It was so good. But it's gone now."
He grinned proudly.
We finally drove to my house. As we got inside I checked for shoes or anyone who could be at home but there was no sign on anyone. Even my cats were silently sleeping in my room.
Elric sat down on the couch. I was still standing awkwardly. "Coffee? Tea?" I asked.
"No." He shook his head looking up at me.
"Um.." Why was I suddenly feeling so nervous? "Food?"
He shook his head again and reached for my hand. He gently pulled me closer.
I dropped down on the couch next to him. He leaned his arm on the couch and played with my hair.
"Are you nervous?" He asked.
"something like it." I answered, biting my lower lip. It wasn't my usual shy nervousness. It was a different type of feeling.
As he leaned forward I sunk on the couch. He lowered his arm under my neck and then with the other hand he touched my chin.
I lifted my head up and closed my eyes.
His lips touched mine and I could feel them lightly brush against mine. It was so light and gentle yet I knew it was only the beginning for more.
I touched the back of his neck and pulled him in closer. He deepened the kiss and closed any distance between our bodies. I was sinking further down the couch. His kiss was always so intoxicating to me.
I held him really close to me, running my fingers down his back. His shirt was so thin I could feel his back muscles and damn...Just to think I had to wait weeks to hold him this close.
I opened my eyes for a moment breaking the kiss. His facial features were like heaven and hell to my heart. I looked down at his lips and kissed him again. I could be so happily mesmerized by those lips for days before I realize how much time has passed. He suddenly grabbed my waist and pulled me closer. I wrapped one leg around him.
The kiss was so good I couldn't stop myself. He lowered his head and kissed my neck, then went back to my lips kissing me like we never broke apart.
He slowed down the kiss and then pulled away smiling. His lips and eyes were smiling at me.
I smiled back.
And then the unimaginable happened. The front door slammed open.
