Sadie's POV

The next few days carried on slowly. Rebecca ended up staying at my place for the rest of the week and would not leave me alone. We rode to work together and opened the diner. She continued to manage and I ended up taking another role that I loved. Baking.

The mayor ended up getting more waitresses to help out at the diner. I could have stopped working but at this point, I'm trying to keep my mind off of the mystery tattoo hot guy. Holy biscuits he was hot.

Speaking of biscuits, that's what I started making this week, along with pies and croissants. They were a giant hit and everyone kept requesting more of them.

I was thankful not being a waitress this week and facing a lot of customers, especially this one group of guys that witnessed my epic failure of an attempt to ask someone to the dance floor.

Luck would have it, table 33 wanted a large basket of croissants and I knew those guys were there at the club. It was Thursday, so I was hoping they forgot all about my little incident. Again, luck was NOT on my side.

Walking up, I gave a brief smile and laid the basket on the table. I turn to leave when one of them, Marco grabs my hand. He knew me better than the rest since he was close with Nathan.

"How are you little fox?" he said with concern.

"I'm fine, thank you." I looked at him sheepishly. There was an awkward silence until one of the other men spoke up.

"Listen, that guy,..." he paused. "He's a complete ass for treating you like that. He just doesn't know you, he's from out of town. I'm Jacob by the way." I took his hand and shook it gently.

"It's alright, he was probably just having a bad day. We all get those right?" The men glanced at me and another spoke up, "You are too good of a person, Little Fox."

I hummed and nodded. What do I even say? Well, I've got something to maybe take the tension off. I told them to wait and went to the back to pull out my famous chocolate silk pie. I grabbed some forks and plates and put it down at the table.

They looked at me in shock acting like they didn't know what to do with it. "For being nice, even though I'm not from around here." With that I walked off to the back to give myself a pity party.

Rebecca doesn't allow me to have pity parties. I could feel her and Nathan walk up behind me while I was kneading the biscuit dough trying to suck up my tears.

"THAT'S IT!" Rebecca came up and pushed me as the dough landed on the floor.

"BEKA! I've been working that all morning!" I squealed! Nathan snorted.

"That's what she said!" he started laughing. We all cracked a smile and I started laughing, hard. So hard I almost continued to cry.

Nathan interrupted the laughter and spoke, "Sadie, we are going to our cabin at the lake. That means you, me," he wiggled his eyebrows, "Rebecca, Lela and a few others will have some fun this weekend."

"The last time I had fun I ended up crying for a week, so pardon me if I don't feel like it." I said

"You have no choice Sadie. I've got your stuff packed already, we leave after our shift." Rebecca walked off waving her hands in victory.

I groaned.

"Come on Sadie," Nathan started. "It will be fun, help you forget some things. Maybe you will find something to distract you." He put a few stray strands of hair behind my ear.

"Nathan..." I whispered. "I don't-" he cut me off.

"Just, have an open mind OK? I'm going to get the SUV loaded. It's got a lake, maybe you could show us some of those mad swimming skills you have." He smiled and left me in the kitchen.

Maybe a low-key weekend would be fun.

I could tell that Sadie was hesitant on going to the lake house. Especially after what happened last weekend. Her crush that she called still bothered her. My worry only increased seeing that this person might be her mate. She says she has never like anyone before so this could be just a normal thing.

I can't tell what she is feeling because she is so innocent to dating and men. This was probably the first time she has ever been rejected for any sort of request, maybe it was a pride thing? Probably not because she is too pure.

Either way, I'm going to have to work fast. She already mentioned a few days ago that she sees me as a friend but I told her I would still pursue her. I want to show her how I would treat her right and love her, yet her feelings are nowhere near to what mine are for her.

I was glad when Rebecca brought up to take her to the Pinecreek Pack lake house. Usually the alpha and his family use it but since we come from a stronger, more royal pack we can use it anytime.

We were going to bring our friends, Rebecca bringing Lela and I was bringing Marco, Ethan and his new mate. Ethan was a lucky douche bag. She had just turned 18. We haven't seen them all week, I'm sure they will have a fancy new mark on their shoulders when they arrive.

Wolves are possessive and that bite mark lets people know they are mated and to back off. I'm hoping Sadie will let me one day if I could ever break it to her what we are. She's seen my wolf form so maybe she won't be so upset.

Her run up to the mountains was amazing to watch. Her name Little Fox suited her. She was fast, small and quick. She dodged trees, jumped over logs and jumped high ravines like it was no problem.

That's going to be my girl.

I headed back to the pack house to get the large SUV, some of the guys were still packing when I saw a pie box on the kitchen table. It was a chocolate silk pie. On the box in pink lettering it said, "Made with Love, Sadie."

Rebecca started making Sadie write her name on the boxes that were made to go by her because wolves have been specifically asking for her baked goods. She really won the hearts of the town in such a short amount of time.

I'm about to pick up the fork and dig in when Marco and Alpha Seth walk in. Seth looked rough. He was always rough around the edges and gets in his moods because he hasn't found his mate but today, he looked like in another world.

Hair disheveled, bags under his eyes and he looked like he had just been sparing with the sweat dripping from his face.

Marco spoke up, "Sorry Nathan, that's for Alpha."

I slid the boxed container over to Seth while he sat down and grabbed a fork. Seth took a large portion in his mouth and was silent while he ate. I was about to load up the SUV. Marco let me know when he and the guys would be ready to head out but then I heard it, a sigh of content.

Both Marco and I darted our heads at Seth while he continued to eat the pie. For once he looked relaxed, he didn't have the scowl he always donned on his face. Sadie's pies were good, so good it could get the most scary alpha to actually hum in content. I swelled with pride on how amazing my Sadie was.

Marco looked at me and Seth.

"Seth, I've got a theory and I don't think you are going to like it." Marco mind-linked me.

"If it has to do anything with my Sadie I don't want to hear it." I snapped back. "Is Seth coming to the lake house?"

"No, he said he had meetings tonight with several neighboring Alphas."

"Good, let's keep it that way." I said.

"I won't go against my Alpha, not even for your happiness, Nathan." Marco snapped.

I left in a huff. It was time to get out of there before anyone changes Seth's mind. I know what Marco is thinking and I don't want to hear it. The way he was devouring her pie and was so content about it.

Part of me was feeling guilty. Could he be her mate? Its possible but I don't have enough evidence.

Maybe we are just over thinking things. Sadie makes a damn good pie and everyone requests her food. This just has to be a coincidence.

Once the girls got off work, I picked them up from the diner and we headed up the mountain. Sadie was laughing with Lela on how a few pups thought it would be funny to sneak in the kitchen and scare Sadie.

Sadie promises small bags of cookies to the pups if they are able to scare her. Little does she know she is helping them be better wolves playing this silly game.

Two of the pups had hidden in the fridge where she keeps all the dough for the bread she makes. She also had her cup of ice apricot tea in her hand when the pups jumped out and grabbed on to her leg. Tea spilled on her and them while they all squealed in happiness.

Of course she had bags of cookies ready not only just for them but their entire family.

"I think all my hair is going to turn white by the end of the year! I have too many kids scaring me all the time! I'm paranoid!" she squealed.

After 45 minutes of driving we pulled up and the girls went to go find their rooms. Sadie was given her own private room while Lela and Rebecca shared one. Sadie wasn't the most comfortable sharing a bed with Rebecca the night she came home crying. "I'm just used to being alone," she said.

I want to make sure she is never alone.

We pull up to this massive lake house that Rebecca and Nathan had rented out. I don't know where they got the term, "house" because this is not a house. It is a mansion! It's 12 bedrooms with a large living room when you just walk in. The kitchen is the size of the diner's!

I could make a massive amount of pancakes in here.

The rest of the group was already here and had already unloaded their bags and put on swim suits.

"Let's hit the pool!" Marco screamed like a girl. He slid down the banister of the 3 story cabin and landed with an Iron Man power pose. Nice.

I quickly ran upstairs where my bags were dropped off by Nathan and put on my swimsuit. It was a blue and white checkered patterned bikini. The bottoms had a tiny skirt on it and hugged my lower hips. The top had frilly lace across the top of my breasts and pushed them together. Overall, it was tasteful and covered a lot more than I am sure the other girls.

I was right, I had more covered than anyone else. Rebecca, Lela and Ethan's girlfriend donned stringed bikinis with their muscular butts hanging out for all to see. Rebecca was wearing her red bikini with mini jewels scattered across her suit, Lela had a plain black bikini and Ethan's girlfriend, Raylina, had a hot pink string bikini halter top suit. They all looked amazing in their attire. I just felt really out of place.

We all stood at the bottom of the stairs waiting for the boys to grab the beers. I felt someone walk up behind me, knowing it was Nathan. He has been really trying to get close this week. He knows I have been upset but I never really disclosed to him what upset me. I'm sure Rebecca told him. I prefer not to talk to him about it anyway.

"You look so beautiful," he whispered in my ear.

"Um, thanks Nathan. Ready to head out? I'm ready to go swim!" I quickly changed the topic. I hide my face to not let him see how deep red my face is getting. He chuckles.

"Sure, let's go."
