TWO AND HALF MONTHS LATER
"Have you decided what you're going to name these little firecrackers?" Dante sipped on his whiskey, not taking his eyes off of mine. "No. There are so many that I like." Rubbing my forehead, I continued to type on my laptop.
"Well, keep having more babies then you can use all of them." Dante winked, smirking as he placed his glass on the bar. "Stronzo," He chuckled but before he could say another word, the door to my office opened and Shira walked in carrying a tote bag with her.
"Amore, what are you doing here? I told you I will be home soon, you should be relaxing as it is your back has been hurting." Shira placed a hand on her forehead, "Val, let Shira sit down instead of lecturing her," Dante walked over to Shira, making her sit on the couch.
"Stronzo," I mumbled under my breath, Shira smiled widely at Dante as he handed her a glass of water. "Val, the babies," Shira warned, my words haven't exactly been PG13 so Shira ends up reminding me. "Sorry, amore." I apologised walking over to her and kissing her cheeks as she did the same with me.
Leaning down, I kissed her belly and sat down next to her. "Dante!" Abella shouted, walking in like she is about to murder Dante in front of us. I would pay millions to see this. "Amore, what happened?" Dante timidly said, chuckling slightly, Shira hit my head.
"You gave all of my tampons to Angelo for his nosebleed and now he's going around the place sticking them all over the place." Well damn, Dante is finally getting his ass whipped. Abella turned to face Shira and I, stretching a smile on my face, I nodded as a way to greet her.
"Oh hi, Shira. Hi Valerius." Her mood changed faster than speed and as she turned her face to look at Dante the storm had come again.
"Dante! Go sort it out before I stick a tampon where the sun doesn't shine." Wow, are all females in the Lamoureaux family this bipolar? Dante rubbed his neck before Abella shoved him out of the door.
"Bye, also, I want names by the time I return, if not, Valerius I am kicking your ass." Abella said daringly, her eyes had bulged out as if she was preying on me. "Why me? And did she really just say that?" I said, Shira bursted out laughing.

"Let's pray that Dante survives." Shira chuckled, making me scoff. Dante was on his way of being a henpecked man.
"So, before Abella actually kicks your ass, have you decided on any names yet?" Shira asked, she leaned over to get her bag but before she could I had already brought it to her.
I told her so many times to be careful when leaning over as it puts pressure on her belly, but, as always she doesn't listen.
Maybe I am being too protective but I want to take care of her and make sure she is no pain and nothing but happiness, tranquility and love surrounds her.
Halfway through discussing the names, Abella and Dante joined and helped us but we wanted something more powerful and strong for our boys.
Shira laid her head on my shoulder and a small yawn escaped her lips. It was about two so it was time for Shira's little nap. "Feeling sleepy?" Shira hummed but it came out as a groan as she tried to ease her throbbing back.
"Dante. Abella, I'm going to take Shira home, we will discuss the names tomorrow." Dante and Abella agreed. Helping Shira from the couch, she stood up and just as she was about to walk she halted.
"Amore, what's wrong?" Shira squinted her eyes in pain and clear streams of water ran down her legs. "My water just broke." Abella screeched in happiness before telling Dante to get the car ready to go the hospital.
"Amore, hold on, let's get you in the car. I need to take deep breaths for me." I tried to mask the panic I was going through. If I was going to stand there and panic, then Shira would panic and it won't be healthy for our babies.
"Abella, I need to phone Dr Caine for an emergency room, now, please." Abella quickly dialled the number onto her phone as we brought Shira into the car.
"Dante can you go a bit faster, please." Shira huffed, sweat glistened on her skin, the beating sun and exceedingly high temperatures wasn't helping.
"Don't worry, amore, we are nearly there." Taking a handkerchief, which I always carry in my suit jacket that I had thankfully left in the car, I gently patted her forehead and interlocked our hands together as I whispered sweet nothing in her ears.

"Valerius, Dr Caine said Shira needs to time her contractions." Shira groaned and squeezed my hand tightly before releasing after a minute or so. "Tell him the contractions are three to four minutes apart and are slightly over a minute long." Shira gasped.
"We're here."
-
Shira sat on the hospital bed, wires attached to her body as a monitor detected her heart rate and contractions.
She slowly sipped on her Starbucks cup filled with water. "Four centimetres to go, amore." I stroked her hair before kissing her cheeks.
Shira was offered an epidural but she refused ; she didn't want to have a bladder catheter later on."How do you feel, amore?" Shira looked up at me with her eyes that begged for a deep slumber.
Her sleepless nights did affect me a lot, her small whimpers when her back ached or when the boys kicked her had made feel bad for her. "Tired and I'm pain. Way worse than my period pains." I couldn't even imagine what she was going through.
"Don't worry, amore, as soon as our boys come out, you go have a nice sleep while I take care of them." Stroking her cheek, her skin felt hot and flushed.
"We haven't thought of the names." Shit. We haven't, we have too many names to decide and we only need two. "When they come out, we will look at them then decide, yeah?" Shira nodded and rested her head on the pillow and tried to relax for a bit before her life as a mother began.
-
"Push, amore," Shira screamed as she firmly gripped my hand, pushing our first son out. "Give me one more push Shira." The midwife said through her mask. "Val, I can't do it." Tears dropped down her face as she held my hand loosely.
"Amore, this is no time to give up, come on one more push, you can do this." Kissing her bulging knuckles, I wiped her tears away. As soon as another contractions arrived, Shira pushed with a strong groan.
"First baby out!" The midwife exclaimed in happiness. Shira took a breath and smiled before she had to push out our second baby. Shira found it alright to push the next one out while our first born wailed while he was being cleaned from the blood.
-
"Mr Santis, would you like to cut the umbilical cord." The midwife handed me the scissors and showed me where to cut. Both wailed and cried, I didn't want to hurt them but I was assured that it wouldn't.
Both of our boys were wrapped in white linen cloths and the midwives took them to Shira to be fed. Walking over to Shira, tears of happiness slipped from her eyes.
Our worlds were in her hands, our little beans both shifted and cooed in their mother's arms. "Val, our little beans are here." My throat became stiff and sore as I held back the tear that begged to come out.
"Amore, they look so peaceful." I felt the delicate skin that almost replicated the touch of fine velvet. "They have your eyes, Val." They did. Bright blue eyes, except for one of them that had one blue and one dark earthy colour. A mix of Shira and I.
"What should we name them, amore?" Shira handed me our first born while she breastfed our second born.
Holding the delicate bundle of joy in my arms made me realise this was my world now. These are my sons and I'm a father. I have a wife and two strong boys to come back to. I have a family.
"Zander. Zander De Santis." He held my index finger tightly while his blue eyes were closed and his mouth slightly open, moving as he breathed in tranquility.
"I will name this one Adryan. Adryan De Santis." Shira kissed his forehead, which elicited a cute noose from his mouth.
I felt proud and honoured to make Shira my wife soon and to have her as the mother of my sons. Claiming her lips, I whispered my love to her but was interrupted by our two boys crying.
"Our little Zander and little Adryan."
