"Papa, Mama?" Shira questioned, she quickly shot me a glance and I instantly knew that we were done for. "Angelo, what did you just say?" Mama said bringing her arms out to hug him. Angelo ran up to her and kissed her cheek.
"Che Valerius è un cattivo ragazzo." Angelo pointed at me, squinting his eyes into small slits. His death stare had to be the most cutest thing. "Valerius, boyfriend?" Mama looked at me while she placed Angelo on the floor. I gulped. Just gulped.
(Translation: that Valerius is a bad boyfriend)
Shira and I looked at the whole room, the unreadable faces only increased the thick air of silence. "Valerius. Shira. Cover your ears." Theo said as he and Papa both backed away from their wives. Shira confusingly covered her ears but I didn't.
Wails and screams from Mama, Melanie and Lorena echoed and I was sure that my eardrums had burst, I should have listened to Theo. The screams died down and the three women began to cry. Theo and Papa sighed and rubbed their foreheads. Women.
"Can someone tell me what's happening?" I finally spoke. Theo and Papa went back to their weeping wives. Shira walked over and hugged her mum and dad before greeting my parents. "Well, your mother and Melanie talked about you and Shira whilst we went on holiday. They're a bit overwhelmed, I suppose." Theo replied.
Glancing a look at Shira, her cheeks were pale red and her lip was between her teeth. She looked so cute blushing, but I would love to punish her for biting her lip like that. Lorena walked up to me, cupping my face with her warm hands and pulling me down to kiss my forehead. "I'm proud of you, Val. Anyway, everyone, dinner is ready."

Shira brought her mum to the dining room and so everyone else followed, except one. Theo. He walked by slow and stopped in front of me. "Listen, Santis, if you hurt my daughter or even make a single tear come out of her. I will make you suffer a thousand times worse. Understood?" Theo's eyes portrayed his power he held that burned holes into my lowering eyes.
"Sì." I nodded. To say I was quite scared would be an understatement. I was shitting myself, I knew how Theo was like and how ruthless he could be, but it was a fatherly habit. If I was in his place, I would have reacted the same way.
"I hope it won't come to that, Valerius." Without another word, Theo left, leaving me to let out a tightening breath.

The ambience felt jovial and bright, not once did they leave the topic about us. Funnily, they made us sit together, which for sure wasn't a coincidence. Our parents chattered about their 'wonderful' vacation, but I couldn't care less. My hand travelled under the table, where I gently dragged along Shira's thigh.
"Oh, Shira, we saw a cute puppy, I'm sure you would have loved him." Shira strained a fake smile as her breathing became uneven. My fingers tapped along Shira's lace panties. Stroking up and down ever so slowly that made her shiver in her seat. "Shira, are you ok?" Mama asked, eyes full of concern.
Shira could only nod. Her obedience was turning me on, each circle I drew around her nub made her hips move in the opposite direction. I could tell that her desperation of letting out a moan was becoming a hassle, but I wanted her to beg.
"Val, please." Those sweet mummers made me rock hard, hell, my name never sounded so pleasurable before. Shira placed her hand on my thigh, holding a strong grip whilst trying not to make a sound. Abruptly, I stopped.

"Well, let me get dessert." Signing my signature smirk on my face, I winked at Shira.

Angelo and Sienna quickly finished their dessert, which they always manage to finish quicker than eating their dinner. Shira took her napkin and wiped their chocolate cover faces before handing them a glass of water as they ran off to the living room, it seemed like the small courtesy had touched Mama's heart.
"Awh, Shira, I think I might leave Angelo and Sienna with you." Mama joked, Shira chuckled slightly as she sat down next to me. "I can't wait to see your kids running around." Mama smiled. Shira stilled, taking in the knifing words. Just as I was about to put my hand on hers, she excused herself and left.
"Shira!" I called out, but she just disappeared. "Is Shira ok? Did I say-" Melanie placed her hand on Mama's hand. "She will be fine, but I think we got to tell you something, now that Valerius and Shira are together," Melanie confessed.
"It's ok, I already know, I'm going to find Shira. She needs me." I smiled painfully, remembering that night that had left me feeling useless for not being able to do anything about it. A poignant memory
Instinctively, I walked outside in the autumn rain, I knew Shira would be outside where the roses would bloom but this time they were wilting. "Amore?" Shira's arm was wrapped around her knees and her hair cascading down her back while the drops of rain had seeped into them.
I sat next to her, waiting for any hint of response but she just stared at the wilting roses in front of her. "I'm sorry." I began, "You don't need to apologise, Val, it wasn't anyone's fault." Shira said bluntly. "Amore, don't shut me out. Talk to me, please." I said kissing her shoulder.
"What am I meant to say, Val? I'm reminded that I'm-" Shira paused, her voice shattering. "You are mine." Her swelling eyes looked up at me, "This is what you'll be reminded of. Nothing else." Interlocking our hands, I brought it up and kissed her knuckles.
"Amore, these wilting flowers in front of you, they will bloom again, you just have to take care of them and most of all not let anyone trample on them." I pulled Shira close to me, kissing her head and stroking her arm. "I won't let any harm come to you, I promise."
"I love you." Shira said, snuggling into me, it was those three words that had lighten my face with a smile. "I love you more." The sound of Shira's phone erupted our peaceful intimacy, Shira answered.
The change in Shira's expression had left me curious; her smile faltered. Sighing, Shira ended the call. "What's wrong? Who was it?" I asked, our hand still interlocked with one another as I caressed her skin with my thumb.
"It was Louis." I wanted to roll my eyes as he disturbed us but it would have been stupid not knowing what he called her for. "What did he say, amore?" Shira sighed, her eyebrows pulled together in sorrow.
"I went for an ultrasound 3 months ago and my report is here."
