《Please Love Me (Shy! Yandere! Male x Reader)》Chapter 20 - Mother

I should've told you from the start; there will only be light(ish) gore. Yes, there might be a little torturing but that won't be the focus of this plot. As a hopeless romantic, I focus more on romance. Additionally, I don't think I have the skill to write about detailed violence, considering I haven't killed someone yet and I don't normally watch horror movies. I can only base it off of books and such.
~~~
Dating Leon was honestly the best thing ever. He was just so sweet, caring, romantic and you were just so lucky to have him as your first boyfriend!
After his confession, the two of you started hanging out more a lot. Texting, sending cute messages, hugging, chatting, snuggling, and pretty much everything except kissing. The two of you haven't had a chance to go on a proper date yet, so the you were eagerly waiting.
The hardest part was honestly telling your friends and family. Your parents were surprised, like you, when you had announced that you started dating Leon over dinner. Your mother was confused, since she assumed that he was with Lizzy, but you cleared that up easily. Your dad started bombarding you with endless amounts of questions to which some you didn't even know how to answer.
Your friends all reacted differently. Grace was obviously excited and started squealing everywhere about how 'lovey dovey' you were. Gabriel congratulated you; but let's face it, he didn't really care as long as it didn't affect him. Melody grinned and patted Leon on the back. Alec, however, had quite an abnormal reaction to the news that contrasted his regular cheerful personality.
"Oh." His shoulders were slouched a bit and his hands tightened. But Alec still put up a smile for you. "Congratulations, darling~ I'm so happy for you."
Alec didn't really want to burden to you, so he just continued to smile like his heart wasn't breaking. Why did he always have to get attached with the wrong people?
Perhaps it was the way you made him feel needed.
Back at home, everyone did everything for him. The maids would clean, the chefs would cook, and the butler would help him arrange everything such as his father's dinner parties as well as his own parties. He even had his separate tutors for most of the subjects, though that ended in middle school.
But you, you made him feel like he had a purpose. Honestly, you were the first friend he had personally made without connections. Grace was his childhood friend, Alec and Gabriel only met because of their fathers, and Melody was introduced through Grace. Although Grace was kinda the reason he and you met, she never formally introduced you because you met him before she could.
Besides, there was this special bond that Alec had with you. It was like, the moment you looked into his eyes, you would be able to see everything; what's wrong, what's bothering him, and way more. Sometimes, he was afraid you'd figure him out in a flash. It scared him, but it turned him on in a way. It was like a challenge. When he told Grace that, she just laughed.
"She doesn't understand," Alec muttered, "Nobody does." The feelings he had for you were to complex to describe. Was it infatuation? Fear of being abandoned? Love?
During the car ride back home, your body was practically stuck to Leon's, making Alec disgusted. How dare another man touch you so intimately like that?!
Once Leon got off his stop, you kissed him on the cheek, making Leon blush. "Bye, Y/N."
"See you later, boyfriend!" It was extremely embarrassing but you loved teasing him like that since he would cover his face with his hands.
"D-Don't call me that!" Leon squeaked. You laughed before closing the door.
The moment Alec's chauffeur started driving again, Alec sighed dramatically. "Y/N~ After you started dating him, you don't hang out with me anymore~" He tried his hardest to pout cutely at you, in hopes you would be swayed by his charisma.
"Well I'm sorry, you big baby!" You squished his cheeks making him whine. "I'll go out with you next week."
"Next week? Not this weekend?" Alec expressed his disappointment in the most obvious manner ever. He slid up to you, laying his head on your shoulder and tracing your arm with his index finger. It was an attempt of seduction, but it didn't work on you because you were so freaking dense!
"Sorry, dude, but I've already arranged a date with Leon. It's going to be our first!" You grinned widely. You tried holding in your happiness considering how Alec was still single and lonely but you couldn't help it.
"Fine. Next Saturday and Sunday then?" You rolled your eyes.
"Alec. I'm not going to hang out with you two days in a row. It's far too tiring to take care of an hyperactive child like you. Last time I hung out with you two days in a row, I slept for 12 hours which is four more than I usually do."
"Oh, so I've upgraded from a big baby to a hyperactive kid? Good for me. Saturday and half a day on Sunday." Alec negotiated.
"Saturday."
"Saturday and Sunday."
You facepalmed. 'Alec, you're meant to be decreasing the amount of time so we can properly negotiate!'
"Saturday."
"Saturday, Sunday, and Monday." When did Monday come in?
"Saturday."
"Friday, the weekend, and Monday."
"No day." You crossed your arm in finalization.
"Fine, fine, fine!" He huffed, "Saturday and Sunday."
Silence.
"Fine, we'll only hang out on Saturday." Alec sighed. He just wanted to spend more time with you.
"Okay." You looked at him and smiled, knowing you got what you wanted. You heard him mutter a 'no fair'.
"But just know that I'll make use of every single second of that day." Alec threatened.
"Okay, okay. Now sit properly, dork." You leaned forward and buckled his seatbelt for him since there was still 5 to 10 minutes until you arrived to your house. Better to be safe than sorry.
As you did so, Alec's breath quickened by the close proximity between the two of you. It would be so easy to just... grab your face right then and there. But he resisted that temptation. He was a man with morals that he intended to stick to. Sort of.
The moment you got home, Alec slouched onto his seat. It just so boring without you. There was nothing fun at home either. He'd just go through social media, read, or study. He used to host parties weekly but that has gone down because of you.
'Maybe I should host a party again...' He thought. Maybe he'd get laid and even get over you at the same time. His dad doesn't care what Alec does when he's not at home anyways. A few minutes later, Alec arrived to his own home. A big empty house full of lives he didn't care about. Walking in the spacious halls, he heard loud whispers of the staff that resided there.
'Dad must be back again...' Alec groaned. What a shame. He definitely wasn't looking forward to seeing his dad.
Climbing up the marble stairs, he entered his room. The bed was made and the furniture was already tidy, thanks to the head maid, Maria. The king sized bed was placed in the top-center of the room, with dark curtains for privacy. Not that he needed them anyways. At the end of the bed was a chaise lounge for whenever. Again, he didn't use those either.
The moment Alec entered the room, he dropped his bag on the floor and plopped onto his bed. Why did Leon have to steal you away? What did he have that Alec didn't? Why couldn't it have been him?
Who cares. It's probably just a mild attraction.
Alec rolled around in his bed, since he had nothing else to do. Maybe he should go out for a jog or to the gym-
"Young master," It was the voice of the head butler, Benjamin. His white hair and wrinkled eyes showed his experience and expertise in his profession.
"Yes?"
"Master is calling for you."
"Tch." What a waste of time. "I'll come down in a second. Thanks, Ben."
"Your 'mother' is present as well." Benjamin warned, before leaving swiftly.
Alec sighed. Was this really the right time for his father to call him?
Going across the room, he made multiple turns before arriving at his father, Alexander's, study. There was no one in the room except for Alec's father. He sat in the centre back of the room, working in this cold room of his.
"You called for me?" Alec stood straight, making sure to speak fluently and precisely. He knew how his dad hated informal behavior.
"That is correct. Your mother and I just wanted to check on how our son's doing. The school sent us the monthly report and it seems your grade average is only an A minus...?" Alexander was still reading his documents, his eyes scanning seamlessly through the sentences, word by word. His face
"Yes, father. I will do better next time."
"And I have also noticed that you haven't applied for a position in the student council."
"I apologize, father. I will do so tomorrow."
"That will not be required. I've already had Benjamin apply for you. " Alexander narrowed his eyes at Alec.
"Yes, father." How annoying, this meant less time to spend with you.
"That's all I have say for today. Dismissed." Alexander waved his hand.
"Thank you, father."
"...Aren't you forgetting someone?" His father's voice turned eerily dark.
"Right. Take care, mother." Alec nodded at the empty space next to him.
After he left the suffocating room, he was greeted by Benjamin who was waiting for him. Benjamin seems to have developed fatherly feelings in which Alec's real father lacked after the incident.
"Did it go well?"
Alec shrugged. "I guess."
Trudging back to his own room, he thought back on his father's behaviour.
Talking to his 'mother' felt really weird. Especially when she was dead.
About seven to eight years ago, Alec's mother committed suicide.
The sunny day went against the somber mood of the funeral. Many people crowded around Alec's grandmother's casket to say their final goodbyes and prayers. Everyone's heart broke, but the one who's heart has broken the most was Alec's mother. She had been the family's only child and now that both her parents are gone, she felt a piece of her heart go with them.
"M-Mommy." Alec sobbed, clutching his mother's black dress. She wanted to cry. But she had to remain strong in front of all these people. In front of his son. Kneeling down to his level, she wrapped her arms tightly around her son, as if protecting him from all the negativity around him.
"Shhh. It's okay, baby, because grandma's in a better place now," His mom whispered, kissing his ear.
"B-But she's not w-with us." Alec hicupped started wailing. She tried shushing him, but it didn't matter. Everyone understood his pain. It was okay. "I miss gramma already. I want her hugs and k-kisses. I want her c-cookies. I want gramma..."
"We'll make it through. I promise." She hugged him tightly again. She will be strong for her son.
Where was Alexander? He was in another one of his business trips. It was an important one, apparently.
But it's okay. She'll be strong enough for the both of them.
It wasn't hard to find out about Alexander's affairs. He's such an influential figure, there was definitely going to be some paparazzi.
"Did he want to show it to the whole fucking world?" She seethed, crumpling the stupid tabloid. Of course she had her suspicions, but she had trusted Alexander enough to ignore them. Is this how she's going to be paid back? Her first thought the moment she saw this was her son, Alec.
Her son...
What will he think of his father? And how will he deal with the bullying that came from something he didn't do? Alec did NOT deserve to be insulted because his father didn't keep his fucking dick in his pants. SHE did not deserve to be insulted for not being enough either.
But then... why did those doubtful thoughts seep through her so easily?
"Mommy..." Alec whispered at her. "My classmates said that daddy was a bastard. They said my family was dysfunctional. Is that true?"
"Baby..." His mom started crying, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I don't know anymore."
"Mommy..." Alec whimpered softly. Taking the crumpled tabloid on the ground, he opened it once again. "Is this daddy...?"
"Shhhh. Daddy is just... misled. He'll come back. It's okay. We'll both make it through." She gently caressed Alec's cheek. "Like we always do."
As long as Alec was here, she could be strong. She will be strong.
"Now, do you want to help me bake a cake? Benjamin is preparing the ingredients right now."
Alec sniffled. "O-Okay."
"Why do you do this?! Every single fucking time," She hissed at Alexander. He simply rolled his eyes and took of his tie and shirt, which smelled of perfume as usual.
"I'm sick of you going off to work, fucking some random woman and coming back home like you didn't." Alec's mother shouted angrily. "Where are the times where we used to be happy...?"
"Gone." Alexander walked past her without much of a glance. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be sleeping in the guest room."
As soon as he left the master bedroom, she collapsed onto the king sized bed and started sobbing. "I don't w-want this anymore... I don't want this."
The tabloids, social media, her coworkers, they were all gossiping about her. It was absolutely shameful and pathetic. She'd hear people saying, 'hey, I'd go for her man' or 'damn, no wonder he cheated'. Of course there were people who defended her but many of the jealous people around her started spiting her, seeing her moment of vulnerability an opportunity to sleep with her husband and make her life worse.
As someone who wasn't as used to the fame as Alexander, she couldn't take it as well.
"I don't want this, I don't want this," Alec's mother kept chanting, wiping her tears away with the blanket.
But she had to be strong for her son. The only thing that kept her from leaving this hateful world.
Little did they know, young Alec heard everything.
He was out again. As usual. Alec sat on the dining chair, having two plates on the dinner table instead of three, the amount of cuts that appear on her wrist day by day.
"Mom..." Alec said quietly. She continued to eat, waiting for her son to say something.
"Can we leave him?" By now, Alec doesn't even refer to him as his father anymore, nor does his mom refer to Alexander by his name.
"If we leave, he'll take you away." His mom muttered quietly. "You're his heir."
"But mom, I don't want to leave you."
"I know honey. That's why I'm not leaving him."
"A child?! A fucking child? Do you have no shame?" Alec's mother started crying as she gritted her teeth. Her husband, after years of cheating, has finally slipped up and impregnated a mistress.
"I'm getting a divorce. I can't take it anymore-" She clenched her fists and looked over at the smirking pregnant mistress that was behind Alexander.
Alexander was as cruel as ever, deciding to just stay silent and even had audacity to pull out the divorce papers as if he had been waiting for this.
She signed them.
"Mommy...?" She turned and looked at Alec.
"Don't worry. I'll do everything in my power to keep you with me."
She wanted to be strong for him.
"NO! DON'T TAKE MY BABY AWAY! PLEASE!" The frantic woman ran and tried to reach for her son, only to be held back by unknown men.
Alexander smirked. He had gotten custody of Alec. Honestly, it wasn't that hard.
"Mommy! No! I want to live with mommy!" He started sobbing.
'I'll be joining you soon, mama and papa.'
She hoped to be strong.
But in the end, she wasn't strong enough.
Alexander didn't even attend her funeral. But the staff did. The house staff was there, Grace was there, Gabriel and his family were there, everyone was there. Except his father and his new wife.
She... was dead? Alexander had expected her to be devastated, but not to the point of suicide. It wasn't any of his business, though, since she wasn't related to him anymore.
Then what is this empty feeling?
She committed suicide. She really committed suicide. It took two months for this fact to finish processing into his brain. Her death was like a key to his memories. That meant that she wasn't on this earth anymore. She won't be able to experience the seasons anymore. She won't be able to travel around the world like she dreamed anymore.
Suddenly, he remembered everything.
She liked daisies. Eating Korean barbecue. Spending time with her family. Dancing. Visiting his parents. Reading. And so much more. She didn't like insects, but she liked ants. She like the color purple, but disliked the color orange. Her favourite ice cream flavour is cookie and cream, she wanted 3 children, their wedding anniversary was the 6th of June, she cherished little moments ranging from kisses to simply buying flowers. He used to love cooking with her and Alec.
"God..."
All these memories rushed into his brain like a tsunami. He couldn't take it.
Alexander quietly muttered her name."Is that you?"
"Dad...?" Alec whispered in a horrified manner.
Alexander simply smiled and stroked the bed.
"Doesn't you mother look beautiful while sleeping?"
"Mom's not there, dad, she's dead." Alexander turned to him, raising his hand.
SLAP!
Alec held his stinging cheek, some tears in his eyes from pain and horror. "What was that for?"
"Do NOT call you mother dead. Am I clear? You can see, that she's right on the bed." He looked at it adoringly. "You look beautiful today, my love."
Alec continued to stare as his father whispered sweet nothings to, well, nothing. Was this father's coping mechanism?
