(so i got bored and was kinda hungry so I decided to dedicate a section to making spaghetti for no reason)

This was it! He was finally going to tell you!

'Tomorrow is the day I confess.' Leon thought determinedly while cooking dinner for his family. Today's dinner was spaghetti and meatballs, a classic dish made and eaten by people all over the world. First, the boy combined a variety of ingredients - beef, egg, garlic, parsley, Parmesan, and more - and formed multiple same-sized pieces, rolling them firmly into a ball. Then, he gently placed some into large pot over medium heat and started to cook them.

As Leon skillfully prepared the meatballs, he dreamily thought of caressing your flawless face. But maybe he shouldn't get his hopes up. He wasn't appealing to anyone, so why would he appeal to you? Shaking that doubtful thought out of his head, he continued to make dinner.

Once the first batch of meatballs were all brown, he transferred them onto a plate and moved onto the second one. When all the meatballs were cooked, Leon moved onto making the sauce. While doing that, he started humming a happy tune and boiling water for the spaghetti, just like his father taught him when he was young.

Scenarios kept flowing into his mind. Maybe, you'd be the one earning money and he would be a house husband? He'd rush over to you once you came home and kiss you on the cheek, like husband and wife, while the kids took turns hugging you as well. Then, all of you would sit by the dinner table, chatting about regular things like regular people.

But then, an ugly face came to mind.

Alec freaking Johnson.

There was nothing attractive about him anyways. Right?

Right?

Just because he has an attractive smile and bold personality won't make you fall in love with him, right? You liked Leon, right?

Irritably, he accidentally smacked the wooden spoon he was using to stir the sauce against the pot loudly, grabbing the attention of his mom. "Frick." He muttered angrily. It's all Alec's fault; just the thought of him makes Leon so annoyed.

"Is everything all right, honey?" His mother's sweet voice called out from the living room. Leon responded with a yes before finishing the sauce.

Soon, the pasta was ready as well and everyone, meaning him and his mom, brought the cutlery and plates out to eat. Because Leon's father was still at work, Leon kept the portion that was saved for him in the kitchen.

Once Leon and Lea got settled down, they started chatting about random things when she brought up a sudden topic.

"Leon..." Lea started as she continued eating, "There's something your father and I have been talking about."

"Hm?"

"Your father and I... You see, he's been offered to go somewhere far to earn more money. I'm thinking of going as well, since the job opportunities there are wider."

Leon's eyes widened, "Are we m-moving? Where are we going?"

'What about Y/N? I don't think I'll be able to live without her,' His breathing turned a little erratic and he clenched his fork, waiting for his mother to speak again.

Lea pursed her lips. "We haven't thought that much about it since the contract will only last for a few months. We were thinking to-" She paused to think about a way to phrase it.

"To what?" Leon urged her to continue speaking.

"Listen, Leon, your father and I might need to stay there for over three months. I'm reluctant to leave you here alone but I promise we'll send you money every week. You can always text us if you need more."

"Did you guys already decide?"

"Not yet, Vince and I are currently both discussing the possibilities and outcomes in this situation. If this long trip turns out well, we might permanently move there after you graduate."

Leon let out a relieved breath. That means he'll be able to stay with you! That didn't mean he won't miss his parents though. "I-I don't think that's a bad idea, mom." He quietly mumbled, "It may turn out profitable for our family. I'll be fine staying a-alone in this house."

Lea's eyes lightened up. "You really think so? I was hesitant because I was so worried you wouldn't be okay with it. Vince kept saying you could take care of yourself but I can't just leave my baby alone."

"Dad is right; I'm a grown man!" He puffed up his chest jokingly, making Lea laugh delicately. "In all seriousness, I p-promise I'll take care of my grades and won't get into d-drugs or whatever. You can trust me!"

"I'm glad we have a son like you, Leon." Lea leaned over the table to squish and kiss his cheeks. "Then we'll be leaving in a month."

"Oh right, mom, there's this girl at school..." Leon blushed and played with his food, "I want to, t-to buy a rose for her!"

Leon was a smart person. He thought. But why the heck didn't he think this through!? Since you and Leon rode with Alec in the mornings, that meant you were going to see the rose, not to mention Alec with be there!

"I'm so stupid..." He sniffled. The lovesick boy had planned too far ahead and forgot about the near future. Maybe this was a sign that he should never have even thought about confessing to you in the first place.

'But you spent money on the rose! You can't let it go to waste!'

'Just leave the it on my bedside to let it rot miserably as a reminder of my heartbreak...'

"N-No!" He shouldn't be thinking of that. Maybe he'll just resort to leaving it in his bag, something he didn't want to do since he feared that it would ruin the rose's stem and petals. Leon looked at the rose once again.

The rose laid beautifully on his desk, the flower thriving in its own beauty; Leon had made sure to pick to biggest and most enchanting rose he could find. The petals curled outward slightly at the tip like any normal rose would, but petals' texture was smoother than the others and the sizes of the petals were slightly bigger. Soft F/C paper was wrapped exquisitely around the romantic flower with care - Leon had made sure of that - and tied by a ribbon that was a darker shade of F/C.

It was just a single rose but he hoped you liked it.

Leon stared at the rose and softly caressed the petals, bringing it close to his mouth and kissing it once.

"I guess we'll just leave it in my bag." He'll just have to clear some things out or hold them with his hands.

The next day, he did exactly that. As Leon zipped his bag closed, his heart started pounding a bit. What would you think of it? Was it worthy enough for you? Should he have bought more? Thoughts of doubt entered his mind again.

"Bye, Leon! Have a good day at school~ And good luck with her." Lea kissed his cheek. Before he left, he swore he could've heard her say 'my son is growing up'.

When Leon entered, Alec was sitting cross legged in the limo playing with his phone.

"M-Morning." The shy student greeted him.

"Mornin'," Alec muttered back. His eyes were still glued to his phone though. It sounded civil, but it was a sign that meant he didn't prefer Leon. But that was fine. Leon didn't like Alec either; after all, he's getting too close to you! Alec's - let's just say distaste - for Leon was fairly obvious because when you come in-

"Morning!" You cheerfully opened the car door and sat on your usual seat - between Leon and Alec. You were originally only sitting with Leon but Alec had always moved to where you were sitting and practically makes wherever you sit his new seat.

"Y/N!" Alec latched onto you immediately, making Leon puffing his cheeks out in jealousy.

"Alec!" You giggled back, patting his head. You then took place in your seat, buckling on the seat belt and chiding Alec to do the same. He pouted in response but complied. You then turned to Leon and flashed him a happy smile.

"Morning, Leon!"

Agh! Even someone as unworthy as him was worth your time!

"G-Good morning, Y/N." He gave you a nervous smile.

The rest of the ride mostly consisted of you and Alec discussing random topics with Leon joining once in a while. It was a normal day so far.

The plan was to ask you out when you and Leon were talking; but with Alec around, who knows when that will happen? In the morning, he left the rose in his locker so it wouldn't be squashed by his heavy books and headed towards the bleachers.

Leon had been waiting for you all day to talk alone with him. It seems that his precious alone time with you has been becoming scarce ever since making new friends. Maybe he should've prevented you from meeting them in the first place.

'But Y/N looks happy...' Leon reflected back on all the smiles you had given him after leaving Lizzy. It made his heart flutter and gave him butterflies in his stomach. However, the smiles you make when Alec is around makes Leon queasy and insecure. It definitely didn't feel good. 'I should be the one making her smile like that. I should one of her only sources of happiness.'

Finally, the shy boy managed to get you alone when the two of you went to the library to study up for an upcoming biology test during lunch. He went to his locker beforehand, hoping to give this to you and it seems like now is the perfect time. Although you were meant to revise, the two of you discussed many things that aren't relevant but that didn't matter because whatever you said made Leon happy.

Now comes the big question.

"Y-Y/N, I, uh, w-will you, will you..." Leon stuttered squeezing his hand in anxiety. You turned around and looked at him in concern.

"Are you okay, Leon? You haven't stuttered like that in a long time." You stared at him and observed his behavior closely.

"I-I-I'm f-fine. M-may you, I mean, w-will you-" Leon was a blabbering mess. His whole face was red and he even stuttered thrice!

"Will you what?" You touched his hands in an effort to comfort him but it just made it worse. Steam practically started to blow out of his ears. He looked as if he was ready to faint

"I-I'm sorry! Will you let me help you with your test!" Random words slipped out of his tongue so easily. Wait! That wasn't what he was meant to say.

'No, my chances of going out with her are over.' Leon whimpered a bit.

"Well why didn't you say so sooner? If you wanted us to focus on biology, you should've just said so! I don't mind." You must've mistook his stuttering for his fear of saying his opinions out loud. You started taking out the necessary equipment you needed to revise and go through your notes.

"U-uh, yeah..."

Either way, the revision session turned out well. Leon gave you a handful of tips for the upcoming biology test and provided you with more information that you missed in class and while studying. Leon looked over your notes and realized that Harry the Helper was still present in many of your pages. The creature you drew on the paper seemed to be taunting him with a smug look. Once lunch was almost over, the two of you started packing up.

"Sorry, Leon! I need to return these book. You go on first." You started stacking up the books you've borrowed and taken to put them back to their rightful places.

'I still have a chance!' Leon lit up. He's just stick the rose in your locker and leave a note. That would probably be way better than just stuttering in front of you the whole time. He nodded at you and waved goodbye, before heading out the library.

Your locker should be right...... here! He peeked inside and recognised the Harry the Helper post-it note drawings and lightly pushed the rose in. What was more concerning was what Harry the Helper was doing in your locker, though.

Leon fumbled to take out a post-it note of his own and bit the lid off his favourite pen - your pen. But you wouldn't know because it was a very common type of pen among students so you would just assume it's really his. He had gotten it from once of his nightly visits.

What can he say that sounds romantic? Leon thought for a few minutes, thinking of nothing. He could express his love for you in his mind but he couldn't write it out in words. It simply does not do justice. His love for you is impossible to express in one sticky note. Whatever. In the end, he wrote and stuck this:

Y/N, I really like you. Please go out with me. - Leon

That was kind of a lie. He loved you. But Leon didn't want to scare you off just yet. Honestly, he could write pages of why you were so beautiful and lovely to him but he only had one mere note. Should he just do that? The boy actually thought about it.

"Leon!" Crap, it was your voice. What does he do now? He looked around nervously, maybe he should run away.

He heard your footsteps coming closer and noticing the rose and note. "Huh?"

Leon squeezed his eyes shut and clenched his fists. He could die of embarrassment right here right now.

Silence.

He couldn't hear anything. Nothing came out of your mouth.

'Oh. So she really rejected me,' Leon teared up. Of course she would, who would like someone as pathetic as him anyways? Only a fool would. He tried sucking those tears back in. Why would he ever think your crush on him would last long enough for him to make a move. That was too hopeful of him.

"It's fine." Leon managed to get out. He wasn't sure if he was talking to you or him. Turning around, he started to walk away.

"W-Wait!" You grabbed his shirt in a panicked manner, not knowing where to grip. You sorted out your thoughts and then slowly hugged him from the back shyly, the smell of his soft clean shirt filling your nostrils. His torso had the right amount of chubs to make it feel soft and firm which made your feelings for him increase even more.

"Don't cry," You whispered, tearing up as well. It was making you cry too. You turned him around so he was facing you and buried your face into his chest so he couldn't see your ugly crying face.

"I like you too." You replied to his message, your voice muffled by his shirt. Thankfully, he heard you and slowly wrapped his arms around you.

Leon didn't know what to do. This was real! This was really real! Of course, this confession wasn't what he had expected it to be but it was still real! You liked him back! He squeezed his eyes shut and held onto you tighter. Please don't let this be in a dream again.

The two of you stayed like that for minute before letting go. Your tears have wiped away by Leon's shirt but his were still present in his eyes.

"You crying makes me cry," You mumbled cutely. Leon laughed as the tears continued to stream down his face. They were happy tears now. God, he was too emotional. You pulled his head forward and kissed the outer corners of both his eyes to get rid of his tears.

"They're happy tears." Leon tried to explain, but you just continued to kiss both his cheeks and hugged him happily again. Who'd even think you'd get your first boyfriend in high school? Wait...

"Leon," He responded with a happy hum, "Are we dating now?"

The said boy's face bloomed a familiar shade of red again. "I-I mean i-if you w-want to I don't mi-"

"Then we're dating!" You smiled up at him.

He was going to die happy.

"O-oh!" He forgot to give you the rose. Pulling the rose out of your locker, he gave it to you. "I-It's not m-much but I hope you like it..."

"Of course I like it! I love it! Whatever you give me, I'll love!" You circled your arms around his neck. Boldly, he grabbed both your cheeks for a kiss. You closed your eyes, expecting a peck on the lips but-

"Muah!"

He had pecked you on the corner of your mouth!

Knowing you wanted an explanation, he said, "I w-want to save our first kiss for something special. I'll come up with s-something, I promise." Leon stuck out his pinkie, prompting you to do the same.

The two of you hooked your pinkies and he smiled again, grabbing both your cheeks and kissing the other corner of your mouth.

"Crap! There's one more minute before class!" You quickly grabbed your things from the locker and ran, but not before giving your new boyfriend a hug. "We'll talk about this later!"

Leon swore that he was the happiest guy on Earth.
